Construite en 1902, l'église <strong>de</strong> la Sainte-<br />
Croix, est située près <strong>de</strong> la porte <strong>de</strong><br />
Pafos, l'une <strong>de</strong>s trois entrées percées dans les remparts vénitiens qui<br />
ceinturent Lefkosia (Nicosie). Sans style particulier, son architecture est plutôt<br />
austère. Une croix <strong>de</strong> Jérusalem orne sa faça<strong>de</strong>.<br />
Un quartier entièrement restauré, où les<br />
maisons caractéristiques <strong>de</strong> l'architecture<br />
urbaine chypriote traditionnelle abritent<br />
aujourd'hui <strong>de</strong>s restaurants, <strong>de</strong>s<br />
boutiques <strong>et</strong> <strong>de</strong>s boutiques d'artisanat.<br />
Le bureau <strong>de</strong> l'Office du <strong>Tourism</strong>e <strong>de</strong><br />
<strong>Chypre</strong> à Laiki Geitonia est le point <strong>de</strong><br />
départ <strong>de</strong> promena<strong>de</strong>s à pied organisées<br />
dans la vieille ville <strong>de</strong> Lefkosia (Nicosie).<br />
C'est le seul musée <strong>de</strong> Lefkosia qui<br />
présente une histoire du développement<br />
social <strong>de</strong> la ville, <strong>de</strong>puis le<br />
Chalcolithique jusqu' à nos jours. Créé<br />
en 1984, il porte le nom <strong>de</strong> son<br />
mécène, la Fondation Anastasios G.<br />
Leventis, qui a ach<strong>et</strong>é <strong>et</strong> restauré le<br />
bâtiment. Le musée est administré par<br />
