COMPLETE ASSEMBLY OF THE HEADSET (continued)
COMPLETE REMOVAL OF THE HEADSET
7. Insert the two rubber plugs to fill the
holes in the head tube.
The fork is now mounted adjusted on
the frame and the assembly of the other
elements cannot modify the adjustment
of the headset. Now the fitting of the
stem in the desired position remains.
8. If necessary place the 5 mm spacer, if
the steerer tube is uncut, then place
the rubber spacer.
9. Proceed to the assembly of the A-Stem
(see the specific instructions).
1. Completely remove the stem (see A-Stem instructions).
2. Slide the stem upwards on the steerer tube. Remove the rubber plugs on the cover.
3. Undo the tightening screw using the recommended tools (see Fig. c in the paragraph “Adjustment
of the headset”), then remove the steerer tube. The pin is now visible. Turn the
fork a quarter turn to align the pin with the holes of the head tube.
4. Remove the pin using a 4 diameter pin punch and extract it from the other side of the head
tube. Important: Hold the fork firmly so it does not slide from the head tube and damages
itself when falling once the pin has been removed, no mechanical element holds the fork.
Slide the steerer tube out of the head tube.
5. Remove the lower 1’’1/2 bearing from the fork cone.
10. Assemble the stem cap using the
compression kit placed in the carrier
bag supplied with the frame.
IMPORTANT: If the steerer tube is too long, the stem will not be in contact with the specific
ring which may entail movement of the latter. If the steerer tube is too short, the contact
surface between the steerer tube and the stem will be too small and stem’s grip will not
be optimal.
IMPORTANT:
Do not grease the steerer tube.
Only use the LOOK Head Fit 4 headset supplied with the 675 frame.
