Simple troubleshoot<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Problem Cause Remedy<br />

Coffee is too “bitter”. The gr<strong>in</strong>d sett<strong>in</strong>g is too f<strong>in</strong>e<br />

or the pre­ground coffee is<br />

too f<strong>in</strong>e.<br />

The water filter does not<br />

stay <strong>in</strong> position <strong>in</strong> the water<br />

tank (16).<br />

The coffee grounds are not<br />

compact and are too wet.<br />

LED D lights up<br />

Adjust the gr<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g unit to<br />

a coarser sett<strong>in</strong>g or use<br />

coarser pre­ground coffee.<br />

Unsuitable type of coffee. Change the type of coffee.<br />

The water filter is not fitted<br />

correctly.<br />

The gr<strong>in</strong>d sett<strong>in</strong>g is too f<strong>in</strong>e<br />

or too coarse, or not enough<br />

ground coffee has been<br />

used.<br />

Water tank has been<br />

<strong>in</strong>correctly <strong>in</strong>serted or the<br />

new water filter has not<br />

Firmly press the water filter<br />

straight down <strong>in</strong>to the tank<br />

connection.<br />

Adjust the gr<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g unit to<br />

a coarser or f<strong>in</strong>er sett<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

or use 2 level measur<strong>in</strong>g<br />

spoons of ground coffee.<br />

Insert the water tank<br />

correctly or r<strong>in</strong>se the water<br />

filter accord<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>in</strong>structions<br />

and then switch on.<br />

LED I flashes. Brew<strong>in</strong>g unit (5) is soiled. Clean the brew<strong>in</strong>g unit (5).<br />

Descale the appliance with<br />

two <strong>de</strong>scal<strong>in</strong>g tablets as <strong>de</strong>scribed<br />

<strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>structions.<br />

Wait a few seconds after<br />

the last dr<strong>in</strong>k was dispensed<br />

before remov<strong>in</strong>g the drip<br />

tray (8).<br />

Switch off the appliance<br />

with the brew<strong>in</strong>g unit (5) <strong>in</strong><br />

place, wait three seconds<br />

and switch on the appliance<br />

aga<strong>in</strong>.
