The UPSA Pain Institute once again subsidized the publication of the long version of
the collective book on “Standards, Options and Recommendations - Antalgic medicinal
treatments of cancerous pains by excess of nociception in the adult” (3245 copies).
These books are intended for doctors involved in caring for pain in cancerology.
The Institute also complemented its financial contribution for the “Quality of pain care
in reanimation” survey project conducted by Association Pro-Arte. This is a practical,
prospective, national survey conducted over one year in 37 reanimation services making up
a national network. Results are expected to be published during 2005.
Furthermore, the I.U.D. granted subsidies to many organizations such as:
• Société Française de Rhumatologie (SFR),
• Association de développement des Sciences de l’Éducation et des Didactiques
Médicales Francophones (ADSEDMF),
• Pédiadol,
• Association DREPANEVÖ.
Action at the Level of the European Institutes
The work of Europe’s UPSA Institutes continued independently in each country concerned,
with the technical assistance of I.U.D. France in Spain, Belgium, and Switzerland.
The actions undertaken are preferentially grants for clinical research, medical training,
and public information.
