Avant guerre : c’est sur le marécage <strong>de</strong> Piquecaillou à la porte <strong>de</strong> <strong>Bergerac</strong> que s’installeront les pionniers <strong>de</strong> l’aviation. 1930 : création <strong>de</strong> l’Aéro-club <strong>de</strong> la Dordogne. 1939 : les installations et la piste sont déplacées à Roumanière. Mai 1969 : M. Boisseau, transporteur, et M. Lagar<strong>de</strong>, négociant en voiture, proposent d’effectuer un aller-retour quotidien <strong>Bergerac</strong>-Paris sur un Piper Aztec <strong>de</strong> 4 places. La CCI et la ville <strong>de</strong> <strong>Bergerac</strong> apportent leurs fonds et se lancent dans l’aventure : c’est la naissance d’Air-Périgord. A partir <strong>de</strong> 1978, les compagnies aériennes du Languedoc, Air Littoral, Flandre Air, Protéus, Régional et Airlinair se succè<strong>de</strong>nt pour exploiter la ligne. 9 décembre 2001 : M. Jean-Pierre Conte, prési<strong>de</strong>nt <strong>de</strong> la CCI <strong>de</strong> <strong>Bergerac</strong> et M. José Camacho, prési<strong>de</strong>nt <strong>de</strong> la compagnie aérienne Buzz, mettent en place une liaison quotidienne avec Londres Stansted. Le premier vol décolle le 23 mars 2002. Depuis, <strong>de</strong> nombreuses <strong>de</strong>stinations sont proposées au départ <strong>de</strong> <strong>Bergerac</strong> (Belgique, Iles Britanniques, Pays-Bas), et l’Aéroport passe <strong>de</strong> 61 000 passagers annuels en 2002 à près <strong>de</strong> 300 000 en 2009. 2009 : fi n <strong>de</strong>s travaux d’extension <strong>de</strong> l’aérogare, permettant d’accueillir jusqu’à 400 000 passagers par an avec un haut niveau <strong>de</strong> sécurité. Ces travaux ont été fi nancés par la Région Aquitaine, le Conseil Général <strong>de</strong> la Dordogne, la ville <strong>de</strong> <strong>Bergerac</strong> et la CCI Dordogne. May 1969 : Mr. Boisseau, a transporter, and Mr. Lagar<strong>de</strong>, a car saleman, propose organizing a daily flight from <strong>Bergerac</strong> to Paris and back on a 4-seater Piper Aztec. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the town of <strong>Bergerac</strong> offer a subsidy and join in the adventure: hence, the birth of Air-Périgord. From april 1978, the Languedoc company starts operating, followed by Air Littoral, Flandres Air, Protéus, Régional et Airlinair. 9th December 2001 : Mr. Jean-Pierre Conte, presi<strong>de</strong>nt of the <strong>Bergerac</strong> Chamber, and Mr. José Camacho, presi<strong>de</strong>nt of the airline company Buzz, <strong>de</strong>ci<strong>de</strong> to set up a daily link with London Stansted. The first flight takes off on the 23rd March 2002. Since then numerous <strong>de</strong>stinations have been proposed from <strong>Bergerac</strong> to Belgium, the British Iles and the Netherlands and the Airport has <strong>de</strong>veloped from carrying 61 000 annual passengers in 2002 to almost 300 000 in 2009. 2009 : end of the extension work on the terminal to permit the passage of up to 400 000 clients per year with a high level of security. The work was financed by the Aquitaine Region, the Conseil Général of the Dordogne, the town of <strong>Bergerac</strong> and the Dordogne Chamber.
