16. Automatic fan speed controlWhen the automatic fan speed control program isselected the air conditioner adapts according to thedifference between the ambient temperature and thetemperature selected on the remote control.17. Fan airflow control● For the best air distribution, set the position of themotor-driven airflow louver and the vertical deflectorsso that the airflow does not directly affect the peoplein the environment.● When the air conditioner is switched off, the motordrivenlouver remains closed. To select either the position of the motor-driven louveror continuous oscillation always use the SWING buttonon the remote control.● WARNING - Do not move the motor-drivenlouver manually when the conditioner is switchedon, this could cause malfunctions or damagethe programming system.● Select the SWING function mode and the louver willcontinually oscillate up and down.● To select a fixed position, press 2 times the SWINGbutton.18. MaintenanceCleaning the indoor unit● Use a soft dry cloth to clean the unit.● A cloth dampened with cold water can be used toclean the unit if it is very dirty (be careful not to useexcessively wet cloths).● Do not spray water on to the surface of the airconditioner: this could provoke malfunctions or shortcircuits.● Do not use chemical products, solvents or similarsubstances to clean the surface of the air conditioner.● Do not spray insecticides or deodorants directlyon the air conditioner.19. Trouble shootingBefore calling a specialised technician, we recommendcarrying out the following test procedures; you may findthe reason why your air conditioner is not runningcorrectly and save time and money. The air conditioner DOES NOT WORK(it does not switch on)Make sure that:● the power supply is available. Are other homeappliances working on the same electrical circuit;● the main switch on the air conditioner power supplyline is connected (if the main switch is equipped withfuses, make sure they are all intact);● the remote control is working;● the timer has not been set.The air conditioner works but it DOES NOT COOLadequately.Make sure that:● the cooling mode has been selected;● the desired temperature has been set on the remotecontrol;● the fan speed is not too slow;● there is nothing obstructing the air inlets and outletson the indoor and outdoor units;● the air filter is clean;● there are no open windows or doors;● there are no unusual heat sources (irons, a largenumber of people, etc.)➛AUTOMATIC FAN AIRFLOWCleaning the air filter● Frequent cleaning improves performance andefficiency.● To remove the air filter, lift the air intake panel, pullthe central tab on the filter downwards and extract.Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner and if necessarywash it in cold water making sure that the filter driesin the shade.● When the filter is clean and dry, replace it by followingthe aforementioned procedure backwards.Cleaning the remote control● Only use a soft dry cloth to clean the remote control.Cleaning the outdoor unit● The outdoor unit does not usually require particularcleaning operations. It will require cleaning if it isinstalled in dusty or polluted areas. The outdoor heatexchanger must be cleaned periodically, preferablyby qualified personnel.● At the beginning of the season, make sure thatnothing is obstructing the inlet or outlet airflow ofthe outdoor unit.● At the end of the season, if the air conditioner hasbeen running in the cooling mode and it is not to beused for a long period of time, before switching it off, allow the air conditioner to run just in the FAN modefor a few hours so that any condensate in the indoorunit will evaporate.● Disconnect the power supply by acting on the mainpower supply switch.20
