Louise Dion-Simard aunom des collaborateurs et des membres duconseil d’administration de L’Écho.GOOD BYE AND THANK YOULouise Dion-Simard(on behalf of the collaborators and members ofthe Board of Directors of the Echo)It is with sadness The Echo learned ofthe news of the departure of two of our longtime collaborators, Chantal Turcotte and JoséeMainville. Involved with the paper for manyyears, both felt it was no longer possible for themto keep their commitments with The Echo, dueto other demands on their time.Chantal has been our Editor in Chief, inaddition to writing humorous articles about herlife. A wife and mother of two young children,Chantal has returned to the workforce in thePublic Service, after her maternity leave, in a demandingposition, necessitating her resignationas Editor in Chief. Fortunately, she will continueher volunteer involvement with our communitynewspaper as a member of the board of directorsof The Echo at least until the board of director’sannual general meeting.Josée has been the coordinator, graphicartist, mentor and much more for The Echo formany years. She worked with a constant passion, devotion and consistent professionalism. Joséealso has been balancing the myriad of responsibilitiesthat come with a young family and ajob. Understandably, her heavy schedule left herlittle time to continue with her volunteer role atthe Echo.On behalf of all the collaborators, and of allthe members of the Board of Directors of TheEcho, we would like to offer Chantal and Joséeour deepest, heartfelt thanks. The succession is now in place. KristinaJensen, who has been a collaborator for a longtime, will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief.She will be supported by Phillipa Judd, who hasoffered to serve as English Editor and by myself,Louise Dion-Simard, who in my role as FrenchEditor will be responsible for the final editing ofthe French texts. The succession also includes the additionof other talented people, in different capacitiesassociated with the paper, namely, for the coordination, the writing, the translation, the editingetc. Our team is growing and we are very happyabout it.Long live The Echo!4 The ECHO of CANTLEY, September 2007
