33WARNINGSCAUTIONS / CONTRAINDICATIONSDEENFRITESNLRUPLSEFI• Do not apply stimulation when in the bath or shower.• Do not apply stimulation while sleeping.• Do not use the device on <strong>ch</strong>ildren, if it has not been evaluated for pediatricuse.• Consult with your physician before using this device, because thedevice may cause lethal rhythm disturbances to the heart in susceptibleindividuals.• Apply stimulation only to normal, intact, clean, healthy skin.• In the application you need to be careful when in the immediate vicinity amobile phone is swit<strong>ch</strong>ed on, as this may affect the output of the device.• If you are pregnant, you should not place any electrodes directly over theuterus or on the belly. The reason is that the heart of the foetus may beaffected (so far there are no medical reports of damage).Warnings when using a Vaginal / anal probe• Pregnant women should not be treated in the area of the uterus.• People with extra-urethral incontinence (fistula, ectopic urethra) maynot be treated with a probe.• People with over-sized incontinence should not be treated with aprobe due to a closure.• People with severe urinary retention in the upper urinary tract shouldnot be treated with a probe.• People with complete peripheral denervation of the pelvic floorshould not be treated with a probe due to a closure.• People with total or partial prolapsed uterus / vagina should betreated with extreme caution.• People with urinary tract infections need to contact their doctor beforestarting with the treatment.• If skin irritation develops, treatment should be temporarily interrupted.If problems persist, consult your doctor. Hypersensitivity may occur inindividual cases. The problem usually disappears when probes or gelis ex<strong>ch</strong>anged for a different type.Precautions• TENS is not a substitute for pain medications and other painmanagement therapies.• TENS devices have no curative value.• TENS is a symptomatic treatment and, as su<strong>ch</strong>, suppresses thesensation of pain that would otherwise serve as a protectiveme<strong>ch</strong>anism.• The success of the therapy depends to a considerable extent on thepatient‘s <strong>ch</strong>oice of physician and whether they are qualified for thetreatment of patients suffering from pain.• The long-term effects of electrical stimulation are unknown.• You may experience skin irritation or hypersensitivity due to theelectrical stimulation or electrical conductive medium.• Use caution if you have a tendency to bleed internally, su<strong>ch</strong> asfollowing an injury or fracture.• Consult with your physician prior to using the device after a recentsurgical procedure, because stimulation may disrupt the healingprocess.• Use caution if stimulation is applied over the menstruating or pregnantuterus.• Use caution if stimulation is applied over areas of skin that lacknormal sensation.• Use this device only with the leads, electrodes, and accessoriesrecommended by the manufacturer.
