mais aussi aux 4 coins du globe : de Bali à Bangkok en
passant par Marrakech, Paris, Genève… sans oublier
de nombreuses villes Indiennes.
Il faut dire que depuis une bonne dizaine d’années
Sheik partage sa vie entre ses 2 pays de cœur : la
Guadeloupe et l’Inde. Il passe environ 6 mois de
l’année au pays du Gange et des rivières sacrées pour
développer, au-delà de sa dimension artistique, son
intérêt pour les coutumes locales, les traditions, les
pratiques ancestrales et spirituelles. Féru de Yoga, il a
maintes fois parcouru la vallée de l’Himalaya au départ
de Rishikesh (capitale mondiale du Yoga) et s’est pris
de passion pour les soins énergétiques et vibratoires.
Il a d’ailleurs apporté son soutien financier pour qu’un
Ashram soit érigé dans cette région.
INSPIRATION BIENVEILLANTE ~ C’est
dans ce contexte introspectif qu’est né son concept
graphique le plus actuel : « WE LOVE ». Apparaissant
comme une traduction picturale de son monde
intérieur, Sheik explique qu’il se donne presque comme
mission de diffuser largement ce message positif, chargé
de pensées et d’intentions bienveillantes. Il partage
ainsi une part de sa sensibilité et espère inciter à l’éveil
des consciences, au processus de transformation
qui, par exemple, permet à la chenille de devenir un
merveilleux lépidoptère coloré prenant son envol… à
l’image de son emblème.
Si rien ne le prédestinait à une telle carrière artistique,
c’est avant tout en écoutant son intuition, sa petite
voix intérieure que Jimmy en a pris le chemin, avec
en tête une sorte de « mantra » qui s’intensifie années
après années : NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE and
IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING !

For more than ten years now, Sheik has divided
his life between the two countries close to his heart:
Guadeloupe and India. He spends approximately six
months of the year in the land of the Ganges and other
sacred rivers, where he cultivates – beyond his artistic
creativity – his fascination for local customs, traditions,
together with spiritual and ancestral practices.
Passionate about Yoga, he has been to the Himalayan
valley many times, starting from Rishikesh (the world
capital of Yoga); and he has developed a keen interest
in energy and vibration therapies. He has also helped
to fund the establishment of an ashram in this region.
COMPASSIONATE INSPIRATION ~ It is
in this introspective context that Sheik created his
most recent graphic work, entitled ‘We Love’. Like a
pictorial depiction of his inner world, Sheik explains
how it has almost become his sole mission to spread
this positive message, full of compassionate thought
and intention. In sharing some of his sensitivity,
he hopes to encourage a conscious awakening, a
process of transformation that, for example, allows
a caterpillar to become a wonderfully colourful
butterfly taking flight … just like his emblem.
Nothing in particular may have led him to his artistic
career, but it was by listening to his intuition, his
inner voice, that led Jimmy to choose his path, with
a type of ‘mantra’ in his head, which intensifies year
after year: “Nothing is impossible and impossible is
nothing!”
