Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Aceh needs to accelerate the pace of regional development in order
to reduce poverty and enhance the wellbeing of its citizens. For this
purpose, accurate data is much required so that development planning
can be formulated in a timely, effective and continuous manner in order to
support the achievement of optimal outcomes.
The publication of ‘Aceh in Figures 2010’ by the Aceh Bureau of
Statistics (BPS) and the Aceh Planning and Development Agency
(BAPPEDA) can serve as a valuable reference for researchers and
analysts, in particular for those involved in development planning.
‘Aceh in Figures 2010’ is to be considered a positive and useful
initiative, in particular with regard to the formulation of future policies
and plans as well as a reference for programme evaluation.
‘Aceh in Figures 2010’ is just one of a number of reports and
publications on a variety of subjects that BPS Aceh and BAPPEDA Aceh
continue to produce for the use of development practitioners, and which
we hope users will find informative and useful.
