10.1. Gross Regional Domestic Product
(GRDP)
Total value of Gross Domestic
Regional Product (GRDP) of Samosir
Regency at current market prices increased
from 1.287,49 million rupiahs in 2007 to
1.392,38 million rupiahs in 2008. Base on
2000 constant market prices, total value of
Gross Domestic Regional Product (GRDP)
of Samosir Regency also increased from
908,46 million rupiahs to 953,85 million
rupiahs in 2008.
Agriculture sector was the major
contributor to GRDP of Samosir Regency at
61,30 percent contribution, followed by
services sector at 23,53 percent, and trade,
hotel and restaurant sector at 9,92 percent,
where others sectors only contribute below 3
percent, each. Mining and quarrying sector
at 0,06 percent contribution was the smallest
contributor to GRDP of Samosir Regency.
In 2008 the contribution shift can be
found at any sector. The decreased
contribution sectors were agriculture, trade,
hotel and restaurant, where the increased
contribution sectors were manufacturing
industry, construction, transportation and
communication, finance, and services.
Meanwhile, mining and quarrying and
electricity, gas, and water sectors were not
shift with
GRDP growth rate of Samosir Regency
at current market prices was increased from
7,61 percent in 200t to 8,15 percent in 2008.
The positive increased growth rate also
occurred in all sectors variously.
Meanwhile, GRDP growth rate of
Samosir Regency at 2000 constant market

prices, known as economy growth
measurement, was also increased from 4,59
percent to 5,00 percent in 2008.
Base on GRDP at 2000 constant market
prices, all sectors have the positive growth
rate, even any sector have the growth rate
over the economy growth rate of Samosir
Regency, they were construction sector at
9,78 percent, electricity, gas, and water
sector at 6,86 percent, agriculture sector at
5,16 percent, and trade, hotel and restaurant
sector at 5,08 percent. The smallest growth
rate was in manufacturing industry sector at
2,12 percent.
Per capita income of Samosir Regency
increased from year to year until 10,58
miliion rupiahs in 2008 at 7,87 percent
growth rate.

where inflation factors have been ommited,
can be obtained from per capita GRDP at
2000 constan market prices.
Real per capita income of Samosir
Regency increase from year to year till 7,25
million rupiahs in 2008 at 4,72 percent
growth rate.
10.2. Population Expenditure
Base on National Socio Economy
Survey (Susenas) 2008 it was known that
average of per capita monthly expenditure of
people of Samosir Regency in year of 2008
experienced the increasing equal to 77,05
percent that was from Rp. 219.629,-
/capita/month in year of 2007 became Rp.
388.864,- /capita/month in year of 2008.
Such average of per capita monthly
expenditure was spent Rp. 259.312,- (66,68
percent) for food consumption and Rp.
129.552,- (33,32 percent) for non food
consumption, while in year of 2007 Rp.
148.180,- (67,47 percent) for food
consumption and Rp. 71.448,- (32,53
percent) for non food consumption.
