Antonio Marras was born at Alghero in 1961. In 1997, at the age of 36, he created his first prêt-àporter
collection and in 1999 presented his own collection signed Antonio Marras. His collections
reveal an eclectic range of references to costume, art and culture, while in his use of materials
he loves to overlay diverse deconstructed elements. June 2002 saw him unveil his first men’s
collection. In 2003, the Möet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton group, or LVMH for short, asked him to
become the artistic director of Kenzo, a position Marras continues to hold today. He recently
reacquired ownership of his brand. Currently, in addition to his women’s and men’s collections,
Marras is forging ahead with his sartorial research through the “Il laboratorio” line, a collection
midway between RTW and couture. His latest success is the creation of a personal line called “I’m
Isola Marras” an easy daily wear collection. In 2008, the first Antonio Marras boutique opened its
doors at the chic address of Via Santo Spirito in Milan.
