Elmo mandarino è una
stupefacente installazione in
due parti: una testa modellata
in fusione e un elmo
meccanico autonomo.
Quest’ultimo possiede due
braccia articolate, ciascuna
delle quali tiene una siringa
pronta ad iniettare un siero
per normalizzare il
comportamento. Xu Zhe ha
proiettato la sua stessa
immagine nella testa... una
satira graffiante nella quale la
gente accetta senza colpo
ferire il mondo che viene loro
proposto.

Mandarin helmet is an
astounding installation in 2
parts: a cast head and an
autonomous mechanical
helmet. The latter possesses
two articulated arms, each of
which holds a syringe ready
to inject a serum to normalize
behavior. Xu Zhe has
projected his own image onto
the cast head…a scathing
satire in which people
unquestioningly accept the
world proposed to them.

Nella mia pittura proseguo
una discussione intavolata più
di 7000 anni fa. Per me è un
modo di perpetuare un modo
di vivere e di pensare
ancestrale. Nel mio intimo vi
è un bene prezioso,
un’eredità dei miei antenati
che divulgo attraverso forme
realizzate con un grafismo
personale fatto di delicatezza
e purezza di tratto e di colori
caldi, allo scopo di restituire i
miti antichi costantemente
rinnovati.

In my paintings I further a
discussion laid upon the table
more than 7000 years ago. It
is a way for me to perpetuate
an ancestral way of life and
of thought. In my intimate
self there is a valuable good,
an inheritance from my
predecessors that I
disseminate by means of the
forms created with a
personal graphics made of
delicacy and purity of stroke
and warm colours, with a
view to rendering the ancient
myths under a constantly
renewed form.
