AIDA PASIÇ E ARMA TANOVIÇ SARAJEVO // BOSNIA-HERZÉGOVINA SUBJECT: VIDEO ART THANATOS (2004) Thanatos è il “fratello” oscuro di Eros, la forza distruttiva che alberga nell’uomo, l’estratto di ogni pulsione omicida. Il video Thanatos esplora questo scuro labirinto dell’essere umano, i più bui istinti dell’energia sessuale. Illustra parti del corpo femminile nella loro bellezza sensuale, mettendole a contrasto con l’atto del crimine più mostruoso perpetrabile contro la donna – la violenza sessuale. Il video è un tentativo di sublimare l’atroce sofferenza della vittima attraverso bellezza ed erotismo. Durante l’aggressione alla Bosnia Erzegovina le violenze sessuali venivano perpetrate sistematicamente, in una strategia di guerra volta a distruggere le donne, radici della nazione. La donna violata è ridotta al silenzio dal senso di vergogna internazionalizzato e dalla paura della stigmatizzazione. Come artiste che hanno vissuto la guerra e come donne, le due autrici hanno voluto modellare la brutalità in atto artistico e squarciare il velo di silenzio. TITLE: THANATOS (2004) Thanatos is Eros' dark "brother", the destructive force inside man, it is the extract of all murderous urges. The video piece "Thanatos" explores this darkest labyrinth of the human being, the darkest instincts of sexual energy. It shows parts of the woman's body in all its sensual beauty, contrasting it to the act of the most monstrous crime against a woman – rape. The piece is an attempt to sublimate the victim's dreadful suffering through beauty and eroticism. During the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, rapes were carried out systematically, as part of a war strategy to destroy women, the roots of a nation. She, the violated woman, has been silenced by the internationalized sense of shame, the fear of stigma. As female artists who have experienced war, but above all as women, we felt the need to shape brutality into an artistic act and thus, at least for a moment, break the veil of silence. THE GROUP PADOVA // ITALY SUBJECT: INSTALLATION MANUALE NON ESAUSTIVO E COSTRUTTIVO DELL’UOMO AUTORGANIZZATO. IDEE E PROPOSTE CREATIVE (2004-2005) Il progetto consiste nella ideazione di un manuale per autorganizzarsi in una citta' strutturato in schede tematiche. Il gruppo, detto "La squadra mobile", propone delle lezioni che si terranno negli spazi pubblici della città e alle quali i cittadini sono inviatati a partecipare e a correggere le schede stesse. Il progetto ha l'obiettivo di trattare problematiche reali giocando sul limite tra l'ironia e la serietà. La squadra mobile si mette in gioco dialogando con gli abitanti di una città come Napoli, famosi per la loro capacità di risolvere i problemi con la creatività. Le artiste, vestite con delle divise, per raggiungere i luoghi scelti si muovono con un mezzo proprio, un risciò attrezzato per l'occasione con lo scopo di attirare l'attenzione della gente sulle lezioni. Nella sede espositiva, il giorno dell'inaugurazione verrà tenuta una delle lezioni del manuale; verranno poi appese le schede corrette dai cittadini, un video di documentazione e una spiegazione di tutto il progetto. MANUALE NON ESAUSTIVO E COSTRUTTIVO DELL’UOMO AUTORGANIZZATO. IDEE E PROPOSTE CREATIVE (2004-2005) The project consists in the creation of a manual for selforganizing inside the city. It is conceived as a series of index cards which catalogue different areas of everyday life (living, economy, politics, transportation.) The group called "La squadra mobile" proposes a series of lessons in the public space in the city of Naples and the citizens are invited to partecipate rather than to correct the index cards or to create new instructions for self organizing. The project has the objective to deal with real issues of everyday life, playing with the limit between an ironic and a serious approach. La squadra mobile confronts the habitants of the city, being famous for their creativity in problem solving. The artists move around in a vehicle, a riscio modified for the occasion and container of self organized examples captured during their travels around the streets of Naples. In the protected space, the index cards modified together with the citizens will be shown, and a lesson on selforganization will be performed. THIRTYTWOBIT MONTPELLIER // FRANCE SUBJECT: PERFORMANCE GLITCH.KRIEG (2005) Nella terminologia informatica, la parola “glitch” indica l’inatteso o l’errore prodotto da un calcolatore dopo un errore di calcolo o un errore di sistema. “Glitch” design è però anche una tecnica creativa che mira a recuperare questi errori e a sfruttarli in quanto tali, ossia come l’espressione più pura di una sensibilità digitale. I file di dati letti dagli applicativi audio per produrre rumori caotici transcodificati, “bugs” salvati, iperutilizzazione di funzioni “aleatorie”, saturazione della memoria per ottenere errori delle schede grafiche, riappropriazione di applicativi o di tecniche obsolete e instabili, ecc. Qualsiasi mezzo è buono per indurre l’elaboratore a produrre delle situazioni di destabilizzazione logica, trasformando così un inoffensivo strumento per l’ufficio o per la casa in un vettore di decostruzione / ricostruzione post cut-up, che suddivide il codice in brandelli, mutila le applicazioni, bascula da uno stato a un altro, produce casualmente un significato senza determinarne una forma o un destinatario precisi. THRTYTWOBIT VINCENT DORP / CLEMENT CHARMET GLITCH.KRIEG (2005) The word 'glitch', in computer terminology, refers to the unexpected or to the error that the computer makes when there is a mistake in a calculation or a system failure. But ‘glitch' also describes a creative technique that sets out to recuperate these errors and to exploit them as they are, in other words, as the purest expression of digital sensitivity. Files of data read by audio programs to produce transcoded chaotic sound, saved viruses, the excessive use of ‘random' functions, video card failure through memory saturation, the reuse of obsolete, unstable software and technics, and so on. Anything goes as long as it logically destabilizes the computer, and in doing so, transforms this inoffensive tool for the office or home into a vector for post cut-up deconstruction/reconstruction which breaks code apart, mutilates applications, swings from one state to another, and perilously produces meaning that has no predetermined form or precise destination. EUGENIO TIBALDI NAPLES // ITALY DATE: 30/08/1977 // SUBJECT: PHOTOGRAPHY OGGI SPOSI. ECONOMIA DELLA PASSION (2005) Ovunque vi è passione non si rispettano più le regole tradizionali, nuove gerarchie smantellano il comune senso della normalità. Il matrimonio: la passione che colpisce la maggioranza delle persone e da cui nessuno si può sentire esente o porre in posizione di giudice ma unicamente d’osservatore. Il mio lavoro si pone diverse finalità: lasciarsi trasportare per pochi istanti nel mondo fatato della passione e, ripescando nella memoria, o lavorando di fantasia, trovare quel senso d’ebbrezza che solo essa regala. Osservare in maniera distaccata, senza essere coinvolti in prima persona un evento che ha del paradossale. Notare come esistano vere e proprie strutture create unicamente per matrimoni che svolgono fino a 600 cerimonie l’anno con 6/7 sale disponibili, giardini, fontane, statue e w.c. lastricati in marmo rosa Portogallo. Osservare come anche la chiesa si conceda alla “spettacolarizzazione” dell’evento, fiori, addobbi vestiti che paiono usciti da libri di fiabe, auto o carrozze che per un giorno non devono porre limiti all’immaginazione e poi cibi, i più strani in quantità esagerate, bevande variopinte e band musicali e ancora foto, filmati e album di pelle cuciti a mano per non dimenticare la giostra del giorno più folle della nostra vita.
