The Pirate Disks<br />
You can mark the numbers 0 to 109 on the pirate disk.<br />
It consists of three parts:<br />
• inner disk shows the unit mark<br />
• the disk in the middle shows the decimal mark<br />
• on the outside disk you mark the number chosen.<br />
Have a go and turn the pirate disk so that it marks the<br />
number 15.<br />
The arithmetic disk<br />
With the arithmetic disk you can check your results.<br />
All numbers between 1 and 10 can be combined.<br />
Try it with the operation 8 + 5:<br />
In order to get the answer look for the<br />
combination 8 / 5 on the arithmetic disk and mark it.<br />
Now you can read the result in the window of the Plus sign<br />
(black frame)!<br />
Hint:<br />
In some variations apart from addition (plus) you will have to solve problems with<br />
subtraction (minus) and multiplication (multiply). If you want to know the result of<br />
the operation “8 – 5” or “8 x 5” refer to the minus window (red) or the multiplication<br />
window (green).<br />
