La skiarea della Valboite a San Vito di Cadore, ai piedi dell’Antelao,
fa parte, con Auronzo, Misurina e Cortina D’Ampezzo di un ampio
comprensorio sciistico, incluso nel Dolomiti Superski. Un unico skipass
consente di sciare nell’intera zona. La Valboite, con i suoi 16 km di pista
da discesa (con neve programmata sulla totalità dei percorsi) offre scuole
di sci e snowboard con maestri professionali che garantiscono a tutti,
principianti e non, lezioni di alto livello. La zona è particolarmente adatta
alle famiglie. Ai bambini è dedicata una specifica area attrezzata per
l’apprendimento dello sci e il divertimento sulla neve. È naturalmente
possibile noleggiare o acquistare tutte le attrezzature per la pratica
degli sport invernali.
Gli impianti di San Vito e Cortina d’Ampezzo sono collegati da un
efficiente servizio di Skibus, gratuito per i possessori di skipass.
Dolomiti Card è uno strumento che offrirà anche nel 2009 la possibilità
al turista invernale di provare il tour sciistico di Cortina d’Ampezzo e del
Cadore, insieme ad una sistemazione a prezzo agevolato.
NON SOLO SCI
La Val Boite offre itinerari di notevole fascino anche per chi pratica lo
sci alpinismo, in particolare nella zona di San Vito di Cadore, e per
chi sceglie l’originalità delle ciaspe, con percorsi di grande fascino alla
scoperta delle Dolomiti. Un ricco programma di escursioni guidate
viene ogni anno realizzato dal Consorzio di Promozione Turistica. Il
pattinaggio su ghiaccio può essere praticato a Borca e Vodo di Cadore.
Entusiasmanti, inoltre, le discese con la slitta per grandi e piccini. Per
l’après ski, relax e vitalità si uniscono nel centro benessere realizzato nel
borgo del Centro Vacanze di Borca di Cadore, un ambiente accogliente
e rigenerante con magnifica vista sul Monte Pelmo.
GASTRONOMIA E PRODOTTI TIPICI
Quella cadorina è tradizionalmente una cucina povera basata su genuini
prodotti locali. I piatti che i numerosi rifugi, ristoranti e hotel della vallata
ripropongono sono spesso quelli “della festa”: “casunziei”, ravioli
triangolari con ripieno di rapa rossa e patata che vengono conditi con
burro fuso e “Spersada” una ricotta affumicata, “canedi” e “minestra de
fasuoi” fra i primi piatti; selvaggina, salumi e formaggi (rigorosamente
con polenta o patate) fra i secondi, per poi concludere con le “zopes”,
la “péta” o i “crafin a la sanvidota”.
Da non dimenticare prodotti tipici della vallata quali il manzo allevato
a Vodo di Cadore, il puledro allevato a San Vito di Cadore e il cavolo
cappuccio di Vinigo di Cadore. Sempre presente nelle tavole è il
formaggio, alimento principe della dieta cadorina. Non mancano dunque
strutture che aderiscono alla strada dei formaggi e dei sapori delle
dolomiti bellunesi.
The Valboite ski area in San Vito di Cadore, at the foot of the Antelao,
it’s part of, together with Auronzo, Misurina and Cortina D’Ampezzo, of a
larger ski complex included within the Dolomiti Superski area, for which a
single skipass is required. The Valboite, with 16 km of downhill runs (with
programmed artificial snowcover on all routes), offers ski and snowboarding
schools with professional instructors able to guarantee first-class lessons
for everyone from beginners up. The area is particularly suitable for families,
with a specially equipped area where children can have fun on the snow
and learn to ski. It is of course possible to hire or buy all the winter sports
equipment visitors might require. The San Vito and Cortina d’Ampezzo
skilifts are linked by an efficient skibus service, free for skipass holders.
Once again in 2009 Dolomiti Card will offer winter visitors the opportunity
to experience the Cortina d’Ampezzo and Cadore ski tour, combined with
a special accommodation offer.
MORE THAN JUST SKIING
The Val Boite also offers some particularly attractive routes for ski
mountaineers, especially in the area around San Vito di Cadore, while
those who prefer a trip out on ciaspe snow-shoes will find a series of
fascinating routes along which to discover all the charm of the Dolomites.
Each year a superb programme of guided trips is organized by the
Consorzio di Promozione Turistica tourist association. Visitors can also
enjoy ice-skating in Borca and Vodo di Cadore, while another thrilling
alternative for both adults and children is sledging. The local après-ski
scene is a blend of relaxation and vitality, with the focal point being the
wellness centre that has opened in the holiday resort in Borca di Cadore,
where visitors can recharge their batteries in comfortable surroundings
with spectacular views over Monte Pelmo.

TYPICAL CUISINE AND FOOD PRODUCTS
Traditional Cadore cooking is based around the humble, yet deliciously
genuine produce to be found locally. The dishes you will find in the numerous
refuges, restaurants and hotels in the valley are often those traditionally
enjoyed locally on special occasions. First courses include casunziei
(triangular ravioli filled with red beet and potatoes, served with melted butter
and spersada, a kind of smoked ricotta), canedi (a kind of large gnocchi) and
minestra de fasuoi (bean soup); main courses generally feature game, cured
meats and cheeses (unfailingly accompanied with polenta or potatoes); while
typical sweets include zopes (fritters sprinkled with sugar), péta (made with
dried figs and grapes) and crafin a la sanvidota (a sort of sweet doughnut).
Well worth a mention is the typical produce of the valley, such as the beef
from Vodo di Cadore, horse-meat from San Vito di Cadore and cabbage from
Vinigo di Cadore. Cheese is of fundamental importance in the local diet, and
here you will find plenty of restaurants, shops, etc. that are part of the Belluno
Dolomites cheese and flavours route.
Das Schigebiet Valboite in San Vito di Cadore, am Fuß des Monte Antelao,
gehört gemeinsam mit Auronzo, Misurina und Cortina D‘Ampezzo zu einer
großen Schiregion, die Teil des Dolomiti Superski ist. Ein einziger Schipass
gilt für die ganze Region. Das Boite Tal mit seinen 16 km Pisten (fast zu 100 %
mit Beschneiungsanlagen versorgt) hat für seine Gäste Schi- und Snowboardschulen,
in denen ausgebildete Schilehrer Anfängern und Fortgeschrittenen
Unterricht erteilen. Das Gebiet ist ideal für einen Familienurlaub. Für Kinder gibt
es ein ganz spezielles Areal, auf dem sie Schi fahren lernen und sich im Schnee
vergnügen können. Natürlich kann man hier auch alle Wintersportausrüstungen
kaufen oder leihen. Um zu den Liftanlagen in San Vito und Cortina d‘Ampezzo
zu gelangen, gibt es einen Schibus, der für alle Besitzer eines Schipasses kostenlos
ist. Mit der Dolomiti Card haben die Gäste im Winter 2009 wieder die
Möglichkeit, die Schitour in Cortina d’Ampezzo und in Cadore zu unternehmen;
speziell dazu werden Unterkünfte zu vergünstigten Preisen geboten.
NICHT NUR SCHILAUF
Das Boite Tal hat einmalige Routen für Schitourenläufer, besonders im Gebiet
San Vito di Cadore und auch für Schneeschuhwanderungen, bei denen man
den Zauber der Dolomiten erlebt. Zahlreiche geführte Wanderungen werden
vom Tourismuskonsortium organisiert. Und in Borca und Vodo di Cadore kann
man Eis laufen. Wirklich amüsant für Groß und Klein sind auch Schlittenfahrten.
Nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag kann man im Wellness Center im Centro
Vacanze in Borca di Cadore ausspannen, und sich in einem erholsamen
Ambiente mit herrlichem Blick auf den Monte Pelmo so richtig erholen.
KULINARISCHES UND HEIMISCHE PRODUKTE
Die Küche in der Region Cadore ist traditionell „arm“ und verwendet einfache,
heimische Zutaten. Die Gerichte, die in den vielen Berghütten, Restaurants
und Hotels serviert werden, sind meist die „Festtagsrezepte“: „Casunziei“,
dreieckige Nudeltaschen gefüllt mit roten Rüben und Kartoffeln und
übergossen mit zerlassener Butter, und die „Spersada“, geräucherter Quark,
die „Canedi“ (Knödel) und die „Minestra de fasuoi“ (Bohnensuppe) sind die
Vorspeisen; Wildgerichte, Wurst und Käse (immer mit Polenta oder Kartoffeln
serviert) gibt es als Hauptspeise, und danach die „Zopes“, „Péta“ oder „Crafin
a la sanvidota“. Andere lokale Spezialitäten aus dem Tal sind das Rindfleisch
aus Vodo di Cadore, das Pferdefleisch aus San Vito di Cadore und der
Grünkohl aus Vinigo di Cadore. Überall serviert wird Käse, die wichtigste Kost
in Cadore. Und deshalb gibt es hier auch einige Betriebe, die zur Käsestrasse
der Bellunesischen Dolomiten gehören.

I paesi principali della Valle del Boite sono stazioni turistiche che, negli
anni, hanno sviluppato qualificate strutture ricettive; località come San Vito,
Borca, Vodo e Cibiana sono nel periodo primaverile ed estivo un’ottima scelta
per la vostra vacanza sulle Dolomiti, da trascorrere tra bellezze naturalistiche,
chiesette tardogotiche che celano magnifici affreschi.
PASSEGGIATE ED ESCURSIONI
Percorrendo la strada che da Pocol porta a Passo Giau si incontrano i resti
della Muraglia di Giau: un imponente muro, realizzato nel 1753 in soli 6
mesi, imposto agli abitanti di San Vito dai commissari della Repubblica di
Venezia, e dell’Impero Asburgico, per porre fine alle controversie di confine.
Di notevole interesse storico: l’itinerario dell’antica Via Regia, strada di
collegamento tra l’entroterra veneziano ed il territorio dell’impero asburgico,
ed il percorso dei Luoghi della Grande Guerra. Mentre dai ponti sul torrente
Boite si raggiunge, in un’ora di cammino attraverso il bosco della “viza”, il
magnifico altopiano di Sènes.
Dalla valle sono facilmente raggiungibili vari rifugi, punti di ristoro e relax
per godere pienamente della spettacolare vista di montagne quali il Pelmo,
l’Antelao e il Sorapiss. Escursioni di gruppo con un’esperta guida naturalistica
vengono ogni anno organizzate dal Consorzio di Promozione Turistica. Inoltre,
per gli appassionati di NordiC Walking, a San Vito e Borca di Cadore, sono
stati realizzati itinerari percorribili anche con l’ausilio di validi istruttori.
L’intera vallata è un vero paradiso anche per i cercatori di funghi (periodo
ideale i primi di settembre). Inoltre è possibile percorrere la “Via Alpina”, un
itinerario storico culturale che dalla Slovenia conduce fino in Germania.
BRIVIDI IN QUOTA
Il territorio è attraversato da numerosi percorsi delle Alte Vie delle Dolomiti:
la Classica n. 1, la n. 3 dei Camosci, la n. 4 di Grohmann e la n. 5 di Tiziano;
tutte raggiungibili dalla Valle con una percorrenza media di circa due ore di
cammino. Una sosta meritano i siti archeologici del Pelmetto, ove è possibile
vedere le famose “orme di dinosauro”, e di Mondeval, dove fu ritrovata
un’antichissima sepoltura del periodo mesolitico. Quest’ultimo sito è visitabile
con l’ausilio di audio guide GPS distribuite gratuitamente presso il Consorzio
di promozione Turistica.
TRA STORIA ARTE E CULTURA
Non mancate di visitare Cibiana di Cadore, conosciuto anche come il “paese
dipinto”. Le pareti esterne delle antiche case sono coperte da splendidi
murales che creano una sorta di museo a cielo aperto che ogni anno si
arricchisce: sono opere di artisti molto noti, inserite con cura nell’architettura
rustica del paese, che raccontano la storia delle case dove sono stati dipinti:
la casa del fabbro, del casaro, del mugnaio, del carbonaio...
A soli 5 km dal paese dei Murales ecco Forcella Cibiana dove, con un
comodo servizio di navette o attraverso un piacevole percorso naturalistico,
si raggiunge il vecchio forte del Monte Rite, oggi Museo Dolomites, il “museo
nelle nuvole” voluto dal noto alpinista Reinhold Messner.
PER GLI AMANTI DELLE DUE RUOTE
Il territorio della Valboite offre agli amanti della bicicletta numerose opportunità
di escursione: la Lunga Via delle Dolomiti, che si snoda lungo il percorso
dell’ex ferrovia che da Cimabanche a Calalzo attraversa l’intera valle; la pista
ciclabile che da Cibiana conduce sino al Monte Rite; la Strada Regia che da
San Vito di Cadore si spinge fino a Venas.
Per gli appassionati di mountain bike sette itinerari di diversa difficoltà, con
schede guida, vi conducono alla scoperta delle peculiarità della zona.

A San Vito di Cadore è possibile noleggiare biciclette e tutta l’attrezzatura
necessaria. Inoltre, nei mesi estivi, un comodo servizio di trasporto biclette
(Bike&Bus) collega le varie località della valle.
EVENTI E ATTIVITÁ
Per completare una vacanza a 360°, la Valboite offre molteplici eventi
culturali, musicali, sportivi o legati alle tradizioni locali. Mostre d’Arte, festival
musicali, sagre e altro ancora accolgono il turista per allietare i soggiorni estivi
e invernali. Evento internazionale da non perdere è il San Vito Blues&Soul
Festival con artisti di alto livello. In alcune zone del paese di San Vito è inoltre

The main villages in the ValBoite are tourist resorts in which a number of fine
accommodation facilities have developed over the years. In spring and summer,
places such as San Vito, Borca, Vodo and Cibiana are ideal choices for a holiday
in the Dolomites, offering superb natural landscapes and enchanting little Late-
Gothic churches with magnificent frescoes.
HIKING AND WALKING ROUTES
Along the road from Pocol to the Giau Pass lie the remains of the Muraglia di Giau:
an imposing wall that took just six months to build in 1753, and was imposed
upon the inhabitants of San Vito by the authorities of the Republic of Venice and
the Habsburg Empire in order to put an end to border disputes. Of particular
historical interest is the itinerary of the Via Regia, or Royal Way, which once linked
the Venetian hinterland with the territories belonging to the Habsburg Empire, and
the Great War route; while from the bridges over the Boite Torrent, an hour-long
walking route through the viza woods leads to the magnificent Sènes plateau.
From the valley you can easily reach a number of refuges and places where
you can relax, enjoy a bite to eat and enjoy to the full the spectacular views of
mountains such as the Pelmo, the Antelao and the Sorapiss. Group walking
trips with an expert nature guide are organized every year by the Consorzio di
Promozione Turistica tourist association, and Nordic walking fans should not
fail to make a trip to San Vito and Borca di Cadore, where a number of routes
have been marked out that may also be tackled with the assistance of skilled
instructors. The entire valley is also a mushroom-picker’s dream; the ideal
period to try out this popular activity is early September. And then there is the
Via Alpina, a cultural and historical itinerary that runs from Slovenia to Germany.
HIGH MOUNTAIN THRILLS
A number of the Alte Vie delle Dolomiti high altitude trails run through the area -
no. 1 (Classica); no.3 (Camosci); no. 4 (Grohmann), and no. 5 (Tiziano) - and all
of them can be reached from the Valley in about two hours’ walk. Also well
worth a visit are the archaeological sites of the Pelmetto, where you can see the
famous “dinosaur footprints”, and Mondeval, where an ancient Mesolithic burial
site was discovered. The Mondeval site can be visited with the help of GPS
audio guides, distributed free of charge by the Consorzio di Promozione Turistica
tourist association.
HISTORY, ART AND CULTURE
Visitors should not miss out on a walk around Cibiana di Cadore, also known
as the “painted village”, as a result of the splendid wall paintings which adorn
the outside of the local houses and create a sort of open-air museum which
grows year by year. The paintings are the work of well-known artists, and blend
in perfectly with the traditional rural architecture of the village; each picture tells
the story of the house on which it is painted, so you can see the smith’s house,
the dairyman’s house, the miller’s house, the coalman’s house, etc.
Just 5 km from the “painted village” is the Forcella Cibiana saddle, from which a
convenient shuttle service or a pleasant nature walk leads up to the old Monte
Rite Fort, which today houses the Dolomites Museum, the “museum in the
clouds” that is the brainchild of the famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner.
ON TWO WHEELS
The Valboite area is a cyclist’s paradise, with numerous routes to follow:
the Lunga Via delle Dolomiti, which runs along the old railway line from
Cimabanche to Calalzo, crossing the valley from end to end; the cycling path
that goes from Cibiana to Monte Rite, and the Strada Regia, which runs from
San Vito di Cadore to Venas. Mountain bike fans can explore the area along
seven routes of varying difficulty, for which guide leaflets are available. In San
Vito di Cadore visitors can hire bikes and any other necessary equipment, and
in the summer months a convenient cycle transport service (Bike&Bus) links
the various villages in the valley.

To round off the perfect holiday, the Valboite offers a wide range of cultural,
musical and sports events, as well as others linked to local traditions. Visitors will

calendar being the San Vito Blues&Soul Festival, which attracts many top-class
artists. In some areas of the village of San Vito a free wi-fi internet connection is
also available.
Die wichtigsten Gemeinden im Boite Tal sind Fremdenverkehrsorte, in
denen im Laufe der Jahre gepflegte touristische Betriebe entstanden; Orte
wie San Vito, Borca, Vodo und Cibiana sind im Frühjahr und Sommer ideal für
einen Urlaub in den Dolomiten, man kann dort in die herrliche Natur eintauchen

SPAZIERGÄNGE UND WANDERUNGEN
Auf der Strasse, die von Pocol auf den Giau Pass führt, kommt man an
den Resten der „Muraglia di Giau“ vorbei: diese mächtige Mauer wurde
1753 von den Bewohnern San Vitos im Auftrag der Republik Venedig und
des Österreichischen Kaiserreichs erbaut, um den nicht enden wollenden
Streitigkeiten über den Verlauf der Grenze zwischen den beiden Staaten ein
Ende zu setzen. Von großem geschichtlichen Interesse: die antike Via Regia,
eine Strasse, die das venezianische Hinterland mit Österreich-Ungarn verband,
und die Route zu den Schauplätzen des Ersten Weltkriegs. Von den Brücken
über den Bach Boite hingegen erreicht man nach einer etwa einstündigen
Wanderung durch den „Viza“ Wald die wunderschöne Hochebene Sènes. Vom
Tal aus führen einfache Wanderwege zu vielen Hütten und Jausenstationen,
wo man sich entspannen und einmalige Ausblicke auf den Monte Pelmo,
den Antelao und den Sorapiss genießen kann. Jedes Jahr werden vom
Tourismuskonsortium Gruppenwanderungen in Begleitung ausgebildeter Alpine
Guides organisiert. Für Fans des Nordic Walking gibt es in San Vito und in
Borca di Cadore spezielle Wege, auf denen man sich auch von einem Trainer
begleiten lassen kann. Das Tal ist außerdem ein Paradies für Pilzsammler (ideal
ist Anfang September). Ein weiterer Tipp ist die „Via Alpina“, eine Geschichts-
und Kulturroute, die von Slowenien bis nach Deutschland führt.
ERLEBNISSE IM HOCHGEBIRGE
Durch die Region führen einige Dolomitenhöhenwege: Nr. 1 der Klassische,
Nr. 3 der Höhenweg der Gämsen, Nr. 4 der Grohmannweg und Nr. 5 der
Höhenweg des Tizian; diese Routen sind vom Tal aus in durchschnittlich
zwei Stunden erreichbar. Hochinteressant sind die Grabungsstätten des
Monte Pelmetto, wo man die berühmten „Abdrücke der Dinosaurier“ sieht,
und Mondeval, wo ein Grab aus der Mittelsteinzeit entdeckt wurde. Letzteres
kann man mit Hilfe eines GPS Audio Guide besichtigen, den man im
Fremdenverkehrskonsortium kostenlos erhält.
ZWISCHEN GESCHICHTE UND KULTUR
Unbedingt sehenswert ist die Ortschaft Cibiana di Cadore, das „gemalte Dorf“.
Die Fassaden der antiken Häuser sind mit wunderschönen Wandmalereien
(Murales) geschmückt, und man hat den Eindruck, als wäre man in einem
riesigen Freilichtmuseum, das Jahr um Jahr reicher wird: einige Malereien sind
Werke bekannter Künstler und wurden gekonnt in das rustikale architektonische
Bild der Ortschaft eingefügt. Die Wände erzählen so die Geschichte dieser
Häuser und ihrer einstigen Bewohner: der Schmied, der Melker, der Koehler
Nur 5 km entfernt vom Dorf der Murales kommt man auf den Cibiana Sattel,
und von dort gelangt man mit einem Zubringerbus oder auf einem schönen
Wanderweg zum alten Fort Monte Rite, dem heutigen Messner Mountain
Museum Dolomites oder „Wolkenmuseum“, das auf Antreiben des berühmten
Alpinisten Reinhold Messner eingerichtet wurde.
FÜR RAD- UND MOTORRADFANS
Die Region Valboite ist ein Paradies für Radfahrer: die Route „Lunga Via delle
Dolomiti“ führt der ehemaligen Eisenbahnlinie entlang vom Cimabanche Sattel
(Im Gemärk) bis Calalzo und durchquert somit das ganze Tal; ein anderer
Radweg geht von Cibiana bis auf den Monte Rite; und die Strada Regia
von San Vito di Cadore bis nach Venas . Für Mountainbikers gibt es sieben
unterschiedlich schwierige Routen und dazu entsprechende Unterlagen, um die
Zone besser kennen zu lernen. In der Ortschaft San Vito di Cadore kann man
Fahrräder und Ausrüstung ausleihen. Im Sommer ist außerdem ein praktischer
Bike&Bus Service aktiv, der in die einzelnen Ortschaften im Tal bringt.
EVENTS UND VERANSTALTUNGEN

The quality trade-mark of the hotel business is a voluntary
association of hotel management that provides the guests, by an
appropriate sign, an objective evaluation of the service level offered.

Should visitors find any reason for complaint regarding
the management or premises, or should the charges requested
differ from those that figure in the table of prices displayed in
the reception, they should document their claim for redress and

Für jeden Hotelbetrieb wird folgendes angegeben: der Hotelname,
die betreffende Einstufung mit Angabe der Sterne, die von eins
bis fünf variieren können, di Adresse, die Anzahl der Zimmer, der
Betten und der Badezimmer; die touristischen Apartmenthotel
sind mit der Abkürzung RTA neben dem Namen gekennzeichnet.
Die herkömmlichen Symbole für die seitens der Hotelbetriebe
gebotenen Ausstattung und Serviceleistungen werden in der
Legende illustriert. Wird das Symbol „MIT BEGLEITUNG
ZUGäNGLICH“ angegeben, wird empfohlen, sich telefonisch mit
dem Hotelführer in Verbindung zu setzen, um so die persönlichen
Anförderungen abklären zu können. Die Zugänglichkeitsreglungen
nach den Normen aus dem Jahr 2008 bleiben gültig bis zum
Inkrafttreten der neuen regionalen Bestimmunge.

REKLAMATIONEN
Gäste, die Beanstandungen vorzutragen haben oder denen Tarife

übereinstimmen, können mit Vorlage von Beweisen innerhalb
