one is just talent. “Somewhere” shocked me so much
that when I got to Los Angeles I went to see the hotel
where she made it, Chateau Marmont. Do you want
to know what I discovered? Sure, what? That Sofia
put the Lion won at Venezia in the Hall, I’d like to put
my David, won for “La prima cosa bella” at the hall
of Bagni Pancaldi in Livorno, where I made the first
movie scene!
However, after all your won awards, you
look like sincerely surprised when you get
congratulations.
The truth is that when directors choose me I’m afraid
to hand them a lemon. I don’t feel up for them, and
get down studying like a crazy to avoid to put up a
poor show. Thanks to all for the received awards, but
nobody knows that I am so slow to rote learning the
script. I feel myself old aged, but I study so much.
Just like an ant.
Paolo Virzì, choose you for the beautiful and
silly Sonia role in “Tutta la vita davanti”, and
doing so changed your existence, insn’t it?
I loved Sonia, because thanks to it I met Paolo, I fell
in love, had a baby and a family.
Is it true that many people, event Virzì,
thought you were really like Sonia?
Silly and easy? While making the movie its imagine
stuck on me and everybody mistook me, on and out
the stage. Maybe it’s due to my faithful enthusiasm
that I’ve ever had,in that period it was very intense. I
was happy because I was acting an important movie.
But I’m this way, lightness and enthusiasm are part
of me. I’m always happy at the morning.
Tell us when you first met Paolo. Was it love at
first sight?
I just can tell that I met a great man, a master of
humaneness and anti-rhetoric at work. I liked him
immediately.
But I really don’t know if he felt the same, you should
ask him! I wooed him, exposing me, he just told me
that I like my eyes, sad as Cuban girls ones.
How could you describe Ramazzotti-Virzi’s
couple?
We are nice together. A happy ended anthropological
experiment. Just like Ranxerox and Lubna ( a comic
strip ).
We make fun each other because we are so different,
not only for the origins. It may happen that he’s

watching at Santoro on tv and I, in the other room,
watching at X-Factor.Being together we learnt to
mesh up each other’s world: I read romances such
Revolutionary Road and he smells something pop.
Did someone criticize you due to marry a
director?
It happens but I really don’t care, because I know
that we are sealed by a true and unique feeling.
Many female journalists fall in love with their copy
editors, or lawyers that get married wth secretaries,
why an actress and a director shouldn’t?
Do you like “cacciucco alla livornese” (a typical
Tuscan fish dish)?
Not much, is a strong tasted plate. I tasted it many
times but I cannot digest it. Romans are not as braves
as Livornesi.
