IMPORTANT!Do not touch fixed structures - danger of kickback!1. Guide the machine slowly and carefully, withoutallowing the cutting line to strike against obstacles.Trimming around tree trunks1. Carefully and slowly guide the machine around treetrunks so that the cutting line does not touch the treebark.2. Mow from left to right around tree trunks.3. Strike the grass and weeds with the tip of the line, andtilt the spool head forward slightly.Trimming along stone walls, foundations and treesresults in increased line wear.Mowing1. Slant the spool head at a 30 degree angle to the right.2. Turn the hand grip to the required position.IMPORTANT!Remove foreign bodies from the working area.Danger of injury/damage to property due to objectsbeing thrown out.Mowing with the cutting bladeWhen mowing with the cutting blade, guide the cuttingblade in a horizontal, curving motion from one side toanother.In addition before using the cutting blade:• Use the carry strap.• Check the guard hood and cutting blade are installedcorrectly.• Wear protective clothing and eye protection.Avoiding kickbackIMPORTANT!Do not use the cutting blade in the vicinity of solidobstacles - danger of kickback / danger of injury!Jamming Do not use weed cutting blades for cuttingundergrowth and young trees!Dense vegetation, young trees or undergrowth can blockthe cutting blade and bring it to a halt.• Avoid the blockage by paying attention to the directionin which the undergrowth is growing, and cutting fromthe opposite side.• If the cutting blade gets jammed when cutting• Stop the motor immediately• Hold the machine at a height so the cutting bladewill not jump or break• Push jammed material away from the cut.Maintenance and careCAUTION!Danger from electrical current!Before all maintenance and care jobs, disconnectthe machine from the mains and secure it toprevent it from being switched back on.• After use, disconnect the mains plug and check themachine for damage.• Keep the machine out of reach of children andunauthorised persons.• Electrical malfunctions are only allowed to be rectifiedby authorised specialist workshops.• Never use the machine if the blade of the line cutter ismissing or damaged.• Always keep the guard plate, spool head and motorclear of mowing residues.• Do not spray the machine with water! Penetratingwater can lead to malfunctions.• Do not get the machine wet or expose it to moisture.• Regularly check the machine is in good working order.• Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents. They cancause irreparable damage to the machine.Cleaning the guard plate1. Switch off the machine.2. Use a screwdriver or a similar tool to remove mowingresidues carefully.Clean the guard plate regularly in order to avoidthe stem tube overheating.Changing the cutting blade (Fig. 5)1.
