Raccomandazioni <strong>per</strong> <strong>la</strong> <strong>sicurezza</strong> <strong>in</strong> sa<strong>la</strong> o<strong>per</strong>atoria - Ottobre 2009Nel 2008 sono state pubblicate e diffuse le l<strong>in</strong>ee guida OMS "Guidel<strong>in</strong>es for Safe Surgery" (16) <strong>per</strong><strong>la</strong> <strong>sicurezza</strong> <strong>in</strong> sa<strong>la</strong> o<strong>per</strong>atoria. Esse si pongono l'obiettivo di migliorare <strong>la</strong> <strong>sicurezza</strong> degli <strong>in</strong>terventichirurgici attraverso <strong>la</strong> def<strong>in</strong>izione e <strong>la</strong> promozione di raccomandazioni e standard di <strong>sicurezza</strong> chepossano essere adattati nei diversi Paesi e sett<strong>in</strong>g o<strong>per</strong>ativi, rafforzandone i processi pre-o<strong>per</strong>atori,<strong>in</strong>tra-o<strong>per</strong>atori e post-o<strong>per</strong>atori.Inoltre, sul<strong>la</strong> base di tali raccomandazioni, l'OMS ha costruito una checklist <strong>per</strong> <strong>la</strong> <strong>sicurezza</strong> <strong>in</strong> sa<strong>la</strong>o<strong>per</strong>atoria a supporto delle équipe o<strong>per</strong>atorie, con <strong>la</strong> f<strong>in</strong>alità di favorire, <strong>in</strong> modo sistematico,l'aderenza all'implementazione degli standard di <strong>sicurezza</strong> raccomandati <strong>per</strong> prevenire gli eventiavversi evitabili. 1 risultati emersi dal<strong>la</strong> s<strong>per</strong>imentazione condotta <strong>in</strong> otto ospedali di diversi Paesisuggeriscono che l'utilizzo del<strong>la</strong> checklist può migliorare <strong>la</strong> <strong>sicurezza</strong> dei pazienti e ridurre ilnumero di morti e dì complicanze post-o<strong>per</strong>atorie (17),2. ObiettivoMigliorare <strong>la</strong> qualità e <strong>la</strong> <strong>sicurezza</strong> degli <strong>in</strong>terventi chirurgici eseguiti nel SSN attraverso1) <strong>la</strong> diffusione di raccomandazioni e standard dì <strong>sicurezza</strong> volti a rafforzare i processi preo<strong>per</strong>atori,<strong>in</strong>tra-o<strong>per</strong>atori e post-o<strong>per</strong>atori (capitolo 4)2 ) Fimplementazione degli standard di <strong>sicurezza</strong> tramite l'applicazione del<strong>la</strong> Checklist <strong>per</strong> <strong>la</strong><strong>sicurezza</strong> <strong>in</strong> sa<strong>la</strong> o<strong>per</strong>atoria <strong>in</strong> tutte le sale o<strong>per</strong>atorie e nel corso di tutte le procedure chirurgicheeffettuate (capitolo 5).2.1 Dest<strong>in</strong>atali del documento ed implementazioneII presente documento è rivolto pr<strong>in</strong>cipalmente a:1) direzioni aziendali, uffici di qualità, direttori dì dipartimento chirurgico e di anestesia erianimazione, dirigenti <strong>in</strong>fermieristici e tutti i responsabili dell'organizzazione e gestione delle saleo<strong>per</strong>atorie;2) équipe chirurgiche e re<strong>la</strong>tive componenti professionali: chirurghi, anestesisti, <strong>in</strong>fermieri, tecnici ealtro <strong>per</strong>sonale di sa<strong>la</strong> o<strong>per</strong>atoria co<strong>in</strong>volto <strong>in</strong> attività chirurgiche.Le raccomandazioni richiedono un processo di adattamento e contestualizzazione, che le rendacompatibili alle caratteristiche ed alle esigenze dell'organizzazione che le adotta.<strong>per</strong>no dico
