Lambrusco mantovano.This area specializes <strong>in</strong> the production of fru<strong>it</strong> and vegetables, dairy produce, meat andderived products, w<strong>in</strong>es, especially Lambrusco, and a variety of gra<strong>in</strong>s. It<strong>in</strong>erary number3 takes <strong>in</strong> eight farms.The enterprises represent<strong>in</strong>g this part of Lombardy <strong>in</strong>clude an agr<strong>it</strong>ourism farm, an educationalfarm, and a social farm which can accommodate people w<strong>it</strong>h disabil<strong>it</strong>ies andtheir carers and provides special facil<strong>it</strong>ies for them. The overrid<strong>in</strong>g purpose is to br<strong>in</strong>g people<strong>in</strong>to direct contact w<strong>it</strong>h the land and improve their mental and physical wellbe<strong>in</strong>g.Five of these farms produce fresh fru<strong>it</strong> and vegetables and preserves, and three of themalso produce meat and dairy products.FARMS IN ITINERARY 31- SOC. CORTE BERNUZZO SS, SOLAROLO RAINERIO (Cremona), a farm that specializes<strong>in</strong> goat breed<strong>in</strong>g and dairy products, especially cheeses made us<strong>in</strong>g sheep’sand goat’s milk and also cow’s milk.2- SARZI AMADE’ VITTORIO, CASALMAGGIORE (Cremona), a farm that grows gra<strong>in</strong>s, watermelonsand melons, as well as potatoes and cauliflowers.3- SOC. AGR. ROSA A. E VIGNOLI G. SS., COMMESSAGGIO (Mantua), a farm that offersfarm accommodation, educational and social facil<strong>it</strong>ies, grows grapes and makes w<strong>in</strong>es,the most representative of which is Lambrusco Mantovano Viadanese-SabbionetanoDOC.4- FATTORIE SAN LORENZO SOC. COOP. ARL, PEGOGNAGA (Mantua), a livestock farmw<strong>it</strong>h 1000-1500 heads of cattle, that has <strong>it</strong>s own slaughter-house for fresh or processedmeat.5- PORTIOLI LORENZO E PIETRO SS, PEGOGNAGA (Mantua), a livestock farm that raisesmilk cows and produces certified DOP parmigiano reggiano, caciotta and butter.6- LA COTOGNERIA GIUDETTI G., SAN GIACOMO DELLE SEGNATE (Mantua), a farm specialised<strong>in</strong> grow<strong>in</strong>g qu<strong>in</strong>ces that are used to make jam, jelly, sauces, juices, mostardaand compote.7- PERNIGOTTI MARIO, GOITO (Mantua), a farm that grows fru<strong>it</strong>, especially kiwi fru<strong>it</strong> andgrapes, and produces Lugana DOC w<strong>in</strong>e.8- AZ. AGR. ROB, CAVRIANA (Mantua), a farm grow<strong>in</strong>g fru<strong>it</strong> and vegetables that go <strong>in</strong>topreserved products that are processed by an <strong>in</strong>dependent certified firm.19
