invece possibile stabilire condizioni operative che si traducono
in una qualità più prevedibile. Bilanciando meglio le
variabili di controllo, è possibile incrementare la prima resa,
migliorare la capacità di risposta agli ordini e ridurre i costi
totali della qualità.
L’importanza della cybersicurezza
Non dimentichiamo poi la sicurezza. Poiché gli impianti di
produzione possono essere dei target potenziali per attacchi
terroristici, è comprensibile che la cybersicurezza sia
sempre al centro dell’attenzione. Le aziende devono quindi
considerare la sicurezza fisica, la sicurezza dei sistemi industriali
e la sicurezza dei sistemi dati, indipendentemente
dal fatto che gestiscano la loro attività sul cloud o in siti
fisici. Il problema diventa sempre più complesso mano a
mano che cresce la quantità di dati che le aziende devono
gestire e mantenere. Utilizzando il calcolo “in-memory’”e
l’analisi su Big Data, è possibile identificare rapidamente gli
accessi non autorizzati o i tentativi di hacking e bloccare gli
account dei clienti interessati o i loro sistemi per prevenire
ulteriori intrusioni.
Il futuro
Mentre fioriscono i convegni su Industry 4.0 e apprendiamo
che nel 2025 saremo circondati da trilioni di dispositivi
intelligenti, e che anche i nostri abiti diventeranno smart e
ci permetteranno una costante connettività alla rete, possiamo
affrontare con fiducia anche l’automazione di piccoli
impianti o di parti dei nostri processi. Sapendo che,
in ultima analisi, otterremo tutti i vantaggi di una migliore
conoscenza dei processi e di una maggiore capacità di
controllo in tempo reale sugli stessi.

The importance of cybersecurity
We should not forget about security. Since production
plants may be potential targets for terrorist attacks, it is
understandable that cybersecurity should always be the
focus of attention. Companies must therefore consider
physical security, industrial systems security and data
systems security, irrespective of whether the manage their
activity on the cloud or in physical sites. The problem
becomes increasingly complex as the amount of data,
which companies must manage and maintain, grows.
Using “in-memory” calculations and Big Data analysis,
it is possible to identify quickly any unauthorized access
or hacking attempt and to block the accounts of all
clients concerned or their system so as to prevent further
intrusions.
The future
While conventions on Industry 4.0 flourish and we learn
that in 2025 we shall be surrounded by trillions of intelligent
devices, and that even our clothes will become “smart”
allowing a constant connection to the web, we may also
face with trust the automation of small plants or parts of
our processes. This is because we know that, all things
considered, we shall all benefit from a deeper knowledge
of processes and a greater capability of controlling them in
real time. l
