Noack, Head of 3D-Printing North America, BASF. “Utilizzando
all’interno di HP 3D Open Materials and Applications
HP: “Grazie all’esperienza e alle capacità BASF in R&D,
Open Materials and Applications Lab”, ha commentato.
ricco. L’HP 3D Open Materials and Applications Lab ci
propria piattaforma aperta, in strumenti come l’MDK e in
3D Open Materials and Applications Lab”, ha aggiunto
Kottenhahn. “L’approccio aperto di HP a materiali e applicazioni
lascia intravedere un futuro molto promettente
per il nostro settore”. yyy
BASF and Evonik, leading companies worldwide for materials
and HP partners, shared information on the innovations
currently being developed thanks to HP’s open
platform, and on job opportunities in the new HP 3D Open
Materials and Applications Lab.
“Here at BASF our objective is allowing our clients to
produce strong and functional parts using solutions and
innovative materials”, Kara Noack, Head of 3D-Printing
North America, BASF, declared. “Using HP’s open platform
and the new HP testing lab in Corvallis to accelerate the
development of materials, we can unleash the full potential
of 3D printing. HP’s open platform provides BASF with
the opportunity of cooperating with our clients and, along
with HP, of accelerating the material market, but also the
adoption of 3D printing in production”.
Noack also described the advantages of work done within
the HP 3D Open Materials and Applications Lab and
the progress which the company is making with respect
to materials certified for HP’s Multi Jet Fusion technology:
“Thanks to the experience and the capabilities of BASF in
R&D, we have been able to accelerate the development of
materials with better mechanical properties by exploiting
the HP 3D Open Materials and Applications Lab”, she remarked.
“We have been able to develop more versions of thermoplastic
elastomers, among them TPU, thermoplastic polyurethane,
adding them to an already rich product portfolio.
HP 3D Open Materials and Applications Lab helps us to
provide the industry with an even broader range of innovative
materials”.
Evonik was the first partner to announce plans for the sale
of certified material for the HP Open Platform. Evonik provided
details as to the forthcoming availability of VESTO-
SINT 3D Z2773, a PA-12 powder material introduced for
the HP Jet Fusion 3D printing solution, and shared information
on the development process. “In just six months,
thanks to support from HP Open Materials and Applications
Lab, our team was able to develop, certify and begin
selling an innovative material with significant advantages
in terms of properties”, Matthias Kottenhahn, Manager
of Evonik’s High Performance Polymers Business Line,
explained. “Our initiatives for the transformation of the
development of 3D materials are focused on HP’s investments
in its open platform, in tools such as MDK and in
the 3D Open Materials and Applications Lab”, Kottenhahn
added. “HP’s open approach to materials and applications
allows to catch a glimpse of a very promising future for
our sector”. yyy
