Amir - hospitality, museums, inclusion and humanreconnection - is an ongoing project started in September of2018 (the name in Arabic means 'young prince') by a networkof local museums which aimed at proposing heritageinterpretation activities conducted by foreign citizens.For the sixth edition of Black History Month Florence, Amiris starting a collaboration rooted in their mission which isto expand the understanding of heritage interpretation andnarratives within a museum’s collection.AMIR and BHMFSunday 21 February - 4pmA story about story-tellingDudu Kuoate and Justin Randolph Thompson discussnarrative and archive. There is a great need for all thecollections to be constantly reborn in the spirit of the griot.The diversity of cultural perspectives widens the rangeof entry points for the viewer and disrupts the sense ofimmutability of written history.
