Saluto del Presidente

Eccoci, ci siamo! Religion Today ritorna per la sua ventiquattresima edizione. Questo è il secondo

anno di incertezza: incertezza per il controllo del nostro numeroso pubblico e per la percepita

perdita di sensibilità sui temi di incontro e dialogo, quasi una vittoria del Covid sulla possibilità di

incontro.

Un rallentamento che ha provocato invece una voglia di esserci a tutti i costi: tra mascherine,

vaccinazioni e tamponi vincerà l’incontro, perché lo spirito viene dal futuro, come diceva Carlo

Molari. E anche per questo, quest’anno, il tema è il viaggio nonostante le prolungate chiusure:

nella stanchezza e nell’angoscia è importante muoversi, uscire, darsi una mossa per portare il

bello, l’arte, la luce e sconfiggere lo scoraggiamento che momenti come quello che stiamo vivendo ci

sbattono in faccia con violenza.

No, noi, attraverso il connubio di due arti, quella del cinema e quella dell’incontro, vogliamo

dare al pubblico l’opportunità di trovare uno spazio di vita, di futuro, di movimento. Di viaggio,

insomma. E con base sempre nel nostro amato Trentino, da sempre terra di incrocio, viaggio,

dialogo e accoglienza, dove per il ventiquattresimo anno arriveranno film e ospiti da ogni angolo

del mondo. Un grazie ai nostri giovani volontari, a tutto lo staff, a chi ci sostiene. Nel nostro lavoro

è sempre presente la fatica degli artisti: per loro andiamo avanti, sempre in moto, per moltiplicare

la sensibilità sui temi della pace. Avanti verso il 25!

Greeting from the President

Here we are! Religion Today returns for its 24th edition. This is the second year of uncertainty:

uncertainty for the control of our large audience, and for the perceived loss of sensitivity on the

issues of encounter and dialogue - almost a victory for Covid over the possibility of encounter.

A slowdown that instead caused a desire to be there at all costs: beyond masks, vaccinations and

jabs, encounter shall win, because the spirit comes from the future, as Carlo Molari said. For this

reason, this year, the main theme is the journey, despite prolonged closures. Within tiredness and

anguish, it is important to move, go out, get a grip to bring beauty, art, and light, and to defeat

the discouragement that moments like the one we are experiencing bring along with violence.

Through the combination of two arts, that of cinema and that of the encounter, we want to

give the public the opportunity to find a space for life, for the future, for movement. A space for

travelling. Based in our beloved Trentino – which has always been a land of intersection, travel,

dialogue, and hospitality – films and guests from every corner of the world will gather for the

twenty-fourth year. Thanks to our young volunteers, to all the staff, to those who support us. In

our work, we always keep in mind the efforts of artists: for them we go forward, always in motion,

to expand sensitivity on the themes of peace. On to the 25th!

Saluto del Direttore

“Viandante, non esiste il cammino. Il cammino si fa camminando” (Antonio Machado)

Il 2020 è stato un anno difficile, abbiamo vissuto sulla nostra pelle gli effetti di una pandemia mondiale e la

conseguente emergenza sanitaria che ha coinvolto tutto il paese. Abbiamo trascorso un durissimo lockdown in

primavera, e dopo la riapertura estiva una seconda violenta ondata ha colpito l’Italia senza che fossimo davvero pronti

per fronteggiarla. Gli aerei restavano a terra, i treni viaggiavano a capienza ridotta, autostrade deserte, il traffico

cittadino un antico mito. Il poco turismo che ci ha allietato nell’estate era fuori porta, ma all’interno dei nostri confini,

ci si muoveva principalmente in auto e si andava poco lontano. E’ stato come se d’un tratto si fossero ristretti i nostri

orizzonti ed allungate le distanze. Il viaggio è diventato una chimera, come il turismo e per un breve periodo anche

le passeggiate fuori casa, portare fuori il cane o comprare le sigarette sono diventati una sorta di pellegrinaggio per

sfuggire all’oppressione delle quattro mura domestiche. In un tempo che ci ha costretti a stare fermi, che ha lasciato

le nostre valigie vuote, senza check in, senza biglietti, senza aeroporti e strade affollate, abbiamo avuto il tempo per

guardarci dentro, riflettere sulla condizione dell’uomo e dell’umanità intera, ormai unita nell’urgenza di una risposta

comune a questo male. Dodici mesi quasi senza aerei e navi, senza passare dogane se non molto vicine. Roma, come

tante altre città mete di pellegrini, vuote e silenziose. Uno stand by che ha coinvolto tutto il pianeta costringendo le

persone a stare ferme, a non viaggiare, se non pochi per lavoro. E se gli aerei portavano squadre di medici e infermieri

da una parte all’altra del globo, noi persone normali non potevamo che viaggiare con la fantasia, attaccati ai nostri

schermi luminosi, cercando quella profondità dell’incontro con il diverso, conoscendo ed incontrando vicini di casa

sconosciuti, cassiere, tabaccai e farmacisti. Ed i nostri “pellegrinaggi” finivano un po’ là. Un tempo in cui anche le

chiese, le moschee, le sinagoghe hanno dovuto chiudere i battenti e lo spazio della fede si è spostato online insieme alla

dimensione del viaggio, ora solo virtuale. Nel pieno della seconda ondata il comitato scientifico del festival ha deciso di

dedicare la manifestazione proprio al viaggio e al pellegrinaggio, con la speranza che presto questo male sia sconfitto

e si possa tornare a viaggiare, vedere il mondo, incontrare le diversità. Il festival come un pellegrino rifà lo zaino e

si mette in cammino per andare a cercare risposte alle domande della sua fede, perché ha bisogno di una fede più

grande e più forte, ha bisogno di ritrovare se stesso e quei valori un po’ assopiti da questi mesi di solitudine e disagio.

Il tema del viaggio e del pellegrinaggio è trasversale in tutte le fedi e le credenze che popolano la terra, basti pensare al

grande Cammino di Santiago o agli innumerevoli itinerari europei dei cristiani che portavano a Roma ieri e a Lourdes,

Medjugore, Loreto oggi. È un pilastro dell’Islam con milioni di fedeli che si riversano alla Mecca. È importantissimo nel

buddismo, con i tanti cammini dedicati ai luoghi sacri del Buddha. Anche per l’ebraismo nell’antichità c’era l’obbligo

di recarsi in pellegrinaggio al tempio, ed oggi al muro del pianto. Una vita quella del pellegrino che lo portava e lo porta

a confrontarsi con il mondo e spesso anche con le altre fedi, pensiamo a Gerusalemme, città sacra e meta di pellegrini

di tutte le religioni abramitiche. Il pellegrino in Terra Santa spesso si trova ad incontrare ebrei, cristiani, musulmani e

turisti da ogni parte del mondo, con il turismo di massa che intreccia le rotte dei fedeli. Il festival in quest’anno che si

augura di ripresa vuole rimettersi in cammino, fedele alla sua anima vagabonda, e riflettere con il pubblico ed i tanti

ospiti internazionali sulla potenza del viaggio di fede, vissuto proprio come scoperta ed incontro non solo di altre fedi

ma di una spiritualità più profonda e autentica. Questo è il significato della nostra ricerca: un viaggio volto a esplorare

e creare se stessi, non il veloce approdo a risposte preconfezionate. Proponiamo il consueto viaggio tra le differenze dopo

un anno di chiusura e di apatia. Rimettiamoci in cammino con lo zaino gonfio di speranza e pronti per un confronto

doveroso con le altre realtà che compongono il mosaico della società odierna, ferita da un’emergenza sanitaria senza

precedenti ma in cui solidarietà ed eroismo sono stati all’ordine del giorno per sconfiggere il virus dell’egoismo.

Greetings from the Director

“Wayfarer, there is no path. The path is made by walking “(Antonio Machado)

2020 was a difficult year. We experienced on our very skin the effects of a global pandemic, and the consequent

health emergency that affected the whole country. We had a very tough lockdown in spring, and after the summer

reopening a second violent wave hit Italy without us being really ready to face it. Airplanes remained on the

ground, trains traveled with reduced capacity, highways were deserted, city traffic became an ancient myth. The

little tourism that delighted us in the summer was out of town, but within our borders. We moved mainly by car

and went not far. It was as if, all of a sudden, our horizons had narrowed and distances lengthened. Traveling has

become a chimera, like tourism, and for a short time even walking outdoors, walking the dog, or buying cigarettes

have all become a sort of pilgrimage to escape the oppression of the four domestic walls. In a time that forced us to

stand still, that left our suitcases empty, without check-in, without tickets, without airports and crowded streets,

we have had the time to look inside, reflect on the condition of humanity, whole, now united in the urgency of a

common response to this evil. Twelve months almost without planes and ships, without passing customs, except

for the very close ones. Rome, like many other pilgrim cities, was empty and silent. A stand-by that involved the

whole planet, forcing people to stay still, not to travel - only a very few for work reasons. And while planes carried

teams of doctors and nurses from one part of the globe to the other, we normal people could only travel with our

imagination, attached to our luminous screens, looking for that depth of encounter with the “different,” getting to

know and meeting new neighbours, cashiers, pharmacists. And our “pilgrimages” ended a bit there. A time when

even churches, mosques, synagogues have had to close their doors and faith spaces have moved online, alongside

the dimension of travel, now only virtual. In the midst of the second wave, the scientific committee of the festival

decided to dedicate the event to travel and pilgrimage, with the hope that soon this evil will be defeated and we can

return to traveling, to seeing the world, and encountering diversity. Our festival, like a pilgrim, packs the rucksacks

and sets out to seek answers to the questions of its faith, because he/she needs a bigger and stronger faith, to

rediscover him/herself and those values which lay a little dormant after these months of loneliness and discomfort.

The theme of travel and pilgrimage is transversal across all faiths and beliefs that populate the earth. Just think

of the great Camino de Santiago or the countless European itineraries of Christians which led to Rome, think of

Lourdes, Medjugore, Loreto today. It is a pillar of Islam with millions of faithful persons travelling to Mecca. It is

very important in Buddhism, with the many paths dedicated to the sacred places of the Buddha. For Judaism, in

ancient times there was an obligation to go on pilgrimage to the temple, and today to the wailing wall. A life, that

of the pilgrim, which encounters the world and other faith. Think also of Jerusalem, a sacred city and a destination

for pilgrims of all Abrahamic religions. Pilgrims to the Holy Land often find themselves meeting Jews, Christians,

Muslims, and tourists from all over the world, with mass tourism intertwining with the routes of the faithful. This

year, the festival that hopes for recovery wants to get back on the road, faithful to its wandering soul, and reflect

with the public and the many international guests on the power of the journey of faith, experienced precisely as

a discovery and encounter not only of other faiths, but of a deeper and more authentic spirituality. This is the

meaning of our search: a journey aimed at exploring and creating oneself, not the quick landing on mainstream

answers. We propose this usual journey through the differences after a year of closure and apathy. Let’s get back

on the road with a rucksack full of hope, ready for a necessary confrontation with the other realities that make up

the mosaic of today’s society, wounded by an unprecedented health emergency, but in which solidarity and heroism

are on the agenda to defeat the virus of selfishness.

L’Agenzia di Stampa Giovanile è

un programma internazionale di

giornalismo partecipativo e attivismo

giovanile promosso dall’Associazione

Viração & Jangada. Ha come scopo

centrale quello di promuovere

la cittadinanza attiva dei giovani

attraverso processi, azioni e prodotti

di comunicazione collaborativa e

sensibilizzazione sociale. L’Agenzia

è stata creata nel 2005 in Brasile

durante il World Social Forum di Porto

Alegre come spazio di condivisione e

di divulgazione libera e indipendente

di prodotti multimediali su tematiche

legate ai diritti umani da un punto

di vista giovanile. Oggi è presente in

quattro Paesi (Brasile, Italia, Argentina

e Colombia) e lavora in quattro lingue

(italiano, spagnolo, portoghese e

inglese).

The Youth Press Agency is an

international program of participatory

journalism and youth activism

promoted by the Viração & Jangada

Association. Its central purpose is

to promote the active citizenship of

young people through processes,

actions and products of collaborative

communication and social awareness.

The Agency was created in 2005 in

Brazil during the World Social Forum in

Porto Alegre as a space for a free and

independent sharing and dissemination

of multimedia products on issues

related to human rights from a youth

point of view. Today it is present in four

countries (Brazil, Italy, Argentina and

Colombia) and works in four languages

(Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and

English).

Elaheh Nobakht is one of the pioneer women

in Iranian Cinema industry. She is the CEO of

the International Production and Distribution

Film Company, ELI Image. She is also an

active member of the Iranian Producers

Association (IPA) and a member of the Iranian

documentary producer Association ( Aoidp) ,

also the Jury member of various International

film festivals such as International Oriental

Film Festival of Geneva Switzerland, Beirut

International Women Film Festival, Labanon

and Mena International Film Festival –

films, producer of “Beloved”, selected in IDFA,

Diana Ashimova (Kazakistan)

Diana Ashimova è una programmatrice

di festival, direttrice artistica, membro

NETPAC, produttrice cinematografica;

ha una laurea in cinematografia. È

stata a capo della programmazione

all’Eurasia International Film Festival

per 9 anni e ha gestito diversi festival

cinematografici internazionali in

Kazakistan e all’estero. Per 7 anni ha

lavorato come consulente internazionale

di Kazakhfilm JSC intitolato a Shaken

Aimanov (Kazakhstan National Film

Studio). Dal 2011 è direttrice artistica

del Bastau International student

and debut film festival. Nel 2017 ha

fondato una società cinematografica

“A Team” che affianca i giovani registi e

produce cortometraggi, lungometraggi

e documentari. I film sono stati nella

selezione ufficiale di molti grandi festival

cinematografici e hanno ricevuto diversi

premi.

Diana Ashimova is a festivals programmer,

artistic director, NETPAC member, film

producer; has a MA degree in filmmaking.

International Film Festival for 9 years and

has run several international film festivals in

Kazakhstan and abroad. For 7 years worked

as an international consultant of Kazakhfilm

JSC named after Shaken Aimanov (Kazakhstan

National Film Studio). Since 2011 is the

Artistic director of Bastau International

student and debut film festival. In 2017

has founded a film company “A Team” that

supports the young filmmakers and produces

short films, full length feature films and

documentaries. The films were in the official

selection of many big film festivals and got

several awards.

Mustafa Cenap Aydin (Turchia)

Studioso-attivista (Sociologia della

religione, relazioni interreligiose,

diversità e inclusione)

Nato e cresciuto a Istanbul, vive a Roma

dal 2004. Co-fondatore e direttore

dell’Istituto Tevere, centro di studi

interreligiosi. Coordinatore accademico

presso l’Istituto Internazionale Jacques

Maritain, centro di studi sui diritti

umani, la democrazia e la società

civile. Membro del Consiglio Direttivo

Nazionale di Religioni per la Pace Italia.

Relatore pubblico -offline/online- su

dialogo, libertà religiosa, educazione

alla pace, diversità e inclusione,

convivenza pacifica in Italia, in Europa

e nel mondo (USA, Kenya, Georgia,

Thailandia, India, Australia, Argentina

ecc.) lavorando con quattro lingue

(italiano, inglese, tedesco, turco).

Ha ideato e diretto diversi eventi

artistici e musicali per promuovere

la comprensione interreligiosa. Cofondatore

e creatore di contenuti del

several artistic and musical events to promote

interreligious understanding. Co-founder and

Miljan Gocic (Serbia)

Miljan Gogic si è laureato in

Management in Production and Media,

all’Accademia di Arti di Belgrado, nel

2010.

Nel 2014 ha iniziato la sua carriera

da regista, e come autore e regista ha

firmato diversi documentari per i quali

è stato premiato più di 10 volte in

festival internazionali di documentari

negli Stati Uniti, Russia, Ucraina, Svezia,

Montenegro, Serbia, ecc.

Dal 2017 lavora come direttore del

festival internazionale del documentario

a Zajecar, Serbia. Attualmente sta

lavorando al suo documentario, Ascent.

Miljan Gogic graduated in Management in

Production and Media, Academy of Arts in

Belgrade, in 2010.

In 2014, he started directing and as an author

and director he signed several documentaries

for which he was awarded more than 10

times at international documentary film

festivals in the USA, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden,

Montenegro, Serbia, etc.

Since 2017, he has been working as the

director of the international documentary

film festival in Zajecar, Serbia. He is currently

working on his documentary, Ascent.

Lidia Magni (Italia)

Lidia Magni è responsabile della

comunicazione della Sezione Migranti

e Rifugiati. Laureata in Scienze della

Comunicazione e diventata giornalista

professionista, per oltre 10 anni ha

raccontato la realtà attraverso parole e

immagini. Affascinata dal lavoro della

Sezione nel promuovere l’incontro

con l’altro, comunica il fenomeno

migratorio nei suoi aspetti più positivi.

Sostenitrice della verità, descrive

l’onestà e la rettitudine di chi accoglie e

viene accolto convinta che raccontando

il Bene si può costruire un mondo

migliore.

Lidia Magni is responsible for the

communication of the Migrants and Refugees

Section. She graduated in Communication

Sciences and works as a journalist, describing

reality through words and images for over

10 years. Fascinated by the Section’s work in

promoting the encounter with the other, she

communicates the migratory phenomenon

in its most positive aspects. A supporter

of the truth, she describes the honesty and

righteousness of those who welcome and are

welcomed, convinced that by telling the Good

we can build a better world.

Più di 42 milioni di alberi sono stati abbattuti dalla tempesta Vaia.

L’impatto sul territorio è stato devastante. Oggi, recuperare quel legno caduto diventa

fondamentale per sostenere le comunità locali e ripristinare l’equilibrio dell’ecosistema.

È così che nasce Vaia: un nuovo modo di creare oggetti senza depauperare materie prime,

fornendo una risposta concreta alle conseguenze dei cambiamenti climatici

42 million trees were torn down by the storm Vaia. Its impact on the area was devastating.

Today, recovering that wood becomes of paramount importance for the support of

local communities and for the restoration of the ecosystem’s equilibrium.

Vaia starts from those premises, as a new way of crafting objects without impoverishing

Earth’s finite reserve of raw materials – a concrete answer to the consequences of

climate change —

Trento, 1943. Chiara è una giovane

maestra che vive l’orrore della guerra

cercando disperatamente di dare un

senso a quello che sta accadendo.

All’indomani dell’armistizio, afflitta

bombardamenti, si ferma davanti ad

Trento, 1943. Chiara is a young teacher who

lives the horror of war trying desperately to

make sense of what is happening.The day

after the armistice, plagued by a thousand

doubts and a thousand questions, as she

wanders through the bombed-out city, she

stops in front of a statue of the Madonna and

realizes that God is the only ideal that has not

collapsed. Thus the woman chooses to live

the Gospel concretely with a single mission: to

ensure that “all are one”.

In 1886 in Turakurgan, a cultured young man

Iskhakkhan Ibrat working as a local judge, opens

a new school for children out of his own savings.

Willing to raise the level of knowledge, Ibrat gives

free lessons and employs new teaching methods

in his school. The local fanatics feel threatened

by a progressive intellectual and conspire against

him. It forces Ibrat to leave his town and family

for some time. But Ibrat never forgets his mission,

which is to provide education to his nation.

His selfless efforts to bring advanced cultural

and technical innovations can’t help but cause

powerful enemies to want him out of the way…

sé un forte senso di colpa per un grave

il parroco della comunità, interpretato

da Giorgio Colangeli, cerca in tutti i

modi di aiutarlo, affidandogli anche un

compito, ovvero quello di denunciare

un grande crocifisso in una chiesa

abbandonata da cui era stato portato

via qualche anno prima. Per Paolo

questo “viaggio” sarà l’occasione per

“tornare indietro” e affrontare tutti i

fantasmi del suo passato.

The film tells the story of 33-year-old Paolo

who, after serving 10 years in prison, is

entrusted to a recovery community. The young

man carries within himself a strong sense of

guilt for a serious episode he was responsible

for and the priest of the community, played

by Giorgio Colangeli, tries in every way to help

him, also entrusting him with a task, that is to

report a large crucifix in an abandoned church

from where it had been taken away a few

years earlier. For Paolo, this “journey” will be

an opportunity to “go back” and face all the

ghosts of his past.

nel 2014. Alla ricerca del figlio pilota,

il cui aereo è stato abbattuto sui

territori occupati, la madre si ritrova

in un mondo completamente alieno e

aggressivo, dove tutto è permeato di

odio e sofferenza. In questo inferno non

solo cerca un figlio, ma, col cuore pieno

di amore e misericordia, cambia tutti

quelli che incontra sulla sua strada. E,

soprattutto, cambia se stessa, trovando

un potere davvero sacro! La sua

disperazione e il suo dolore rinascono

nell’eterno spirito materno della terra,

che riporta i figli a casa vivi o morti.

The film is based on the stories of women

whose sons fought for Ukraine in 2014. In

search of her pilot son, whose plane was shot

down over the occupied territories, the mother

finds herself in a completely alien and aggressive

world, where everything is permeated with

hatred and suffering. In this hell she not only

seeks a son, but, having great love and merciful

character in her heart, she changes everyone she

meets on her way. And most importantly, she

changes herself, finding a truly sacred power!

Her despair and pain are reborn in the eternal

motherly spirit of the earth, which returns the

sons home alive or dead.

A little village on the Syrian-Turkish border

in the early 80’s: A six-year old Kurdish boy

experiences his first year in an Arab school and

sees how his little world is radically changed

by absurd nationalism. With a fine sense of

humor and satire, the film tells of a childhood,

which, between dictatorship and dark drama,

also has its light moments. How much

friendship, love and solidarity are possible in

times of repression and despotism?

vivere, ora deve affrontare i suoi pregiudizi e le

rifugiati siriani che vivono in Turchia con lo

humane experience he has to live through, he now

has to face his prejudices and his political views.

Professional actors Taj Sher Yakub (Omar) and

are two Syrian refugees who live in Turkey under

temporary immigration status.

day, while the two are fishing in a lake, tragedy

Aytmatov, il film «Shambala» in lingua

kirghisa significa: “sham” candela e “bala”

ragazzo, bambino. Cioè, letteralmente

“il ragazzo candela” o “un ragazzo che

emette luce”. Shambala crede fermamente

nell’antica fiaba, il mito della Madre Cervo,

che ha salvato l’ultimo bambino della loro

parentela dai suoi nemici e lo ha nutrito

con il suo latte. La trama del film si basa

sulla tragedia avvenuta nell’antico mito

della cerva. È una parabola distintiva sul

crimine e la punizione. È un avvertimento,

un sentimento panteistico della fauna

selvatica, che è percepibile in ogni albero e

in ogni animale.

The movie «Shambala» based on the story

“White Ship” by Chingiz Aytmatov In the

Kyrgyz language: “sham” means “candle”, and

Shambala firmly believes in the ancient fairy tale

- the myth about Mother Deer, who saved the

last baby of their kinship from its enemies and

fed it with her milk. The plot of the film is based

myth about the Doe. It is a distinctive parable

about crime and punishment. It is a warning,

pantheistic feeling of the wildlife, which is

perceptible in each tree and each animal.

La coppia di sfollati Yusop e Farhanna

e i loro figli desiderano la libertà,

il reddito e il comfort dopo essere

tornati nella loro città. Ma anche

tornare alla normalità è già una lotta.

Il film accompagna per due anni i suoi

protagonisti attraverso la paura, la

preoccupazione e la speranza, verso un

nuovo inizio del loro lungo viaggio.

A war between the government and ISISaffiliated

jihadists forced hundreds of

thousands to flee from Marawi, Philippines.

After the battle, residents struggle to rebuild

their homes and live in a deformed city.

Displaced couple Yusop and Farhanna and

comfort after returning to their city. But even

to return to normalcy is already a struggle.

The film accompanies its protagonists for two

years through fear, worry, and hope, towards a

e di una famiglia che li hanno stigmatizzati,

i giovani punk di Jakarta parlano. Il conflitto

dell’adolescente punk Eka con i suoi

genitori è guidato da un’intensa ricerca

della libertà individuale. Nel frattempo,

non molto lontano, tutt’uno con la terra

e abbracciando ideali simili sono le tribù

tradizionali locali, che hanno trovato la

libertà in perfetta sintonia con la natura, ma

lottano per mantenere la propria identità.

A punk daydream è un film che solleva

interrogativi sulla nostra identità nella società

e sul nostro legame spirituale con la terra,

attraverso un’interpretazione surreale della

cultura punk e tribale, guidata dai ricchi suoni

dell’Indonesia, dalla musica punk al Gamelan

tradizionale e alla musica sperimentale locale.

Left to fend for themselves on the fringes of a society

and a family that have stigmatized them, Jakarta’s

young punks speak up. The conflict of teen punk

Eka with his parents is driven by an intense quest for

individual freedom. Meanwhile, not so far away, one

with the land and embracing similar ideals are the

local traditional tribes, who have found freedom in

perfect tune with nature, but struggle to maintain

their identity. A punk daydream is a film that raises

questions about our identity in society, and our

spiritual connection to earth, through a surreal

interpretation of punk and tribal culture, guided by

the rich sounds of Indonesia, from punk music to

traditional Gamelan and local experimental music.

Camilo è il figlio adottivo di una coppia

indigena della tribù Quillasinga della

laguna di Cocha, nel sud-ovest della

Colombia. È l’unico nero nella sua

comunità e si è sempre sentito diverso.

Da anni si chiede chi siano i suoi genitori

biologici. Ha lasciato la scuola a causa

del razzismo e del bullismo. Il governatore

indigeno Quillasinga lo prende sotto

la sua ala protettrice e gli somministra

l’Ayahuasca, un rimedio sacro per la guida

Camilo is the adopted son of an indigenous

couple of the Quillasinga tribe from the Cocha

lagoon, in the southwest of Colombia. He is

the only black person in his community and

has always felt different. For years he has been

wondering who his biological parents are. He left

school due to racism and bullying. The indigenous

governor Quillasinga took him under his wing and

gave him Ayahuasca, a sacred remedy for spiritual

guidance. During this transcendent experience

Camilo has visions of his biological mother.

Emotionally supported by his caring father,

Camilo then embarks on an existential journey to

find his mother and his true identity.

Questa è la storia della quotidianità di

persone che barattano la propria vita

per guadagnarsi il pane con una santa

morte! Holy Bread parla della dura

vita delle persone che contrabbandano

merci per sostenere le loro famiglie.

This is the story of the everyday life of people

who trade their lives for earning bread with

a holy death! Holy Bread is about the hard

life of people who smuggle goods in order to

support their families. Because of this they are

forced to hike arduous mountains putting their

lives on the line. The father of a household

may be swept to his death by an avalanche, or

hit by a soldier’s bullets.

unacceptable in the eyes of many, especially

when it comes to young women. The film

directed by Lucia Kašová depicts their desires,

dreams and preparation for performances.

During the tour in Slovakia, they also get to

the former borders of the communist bloc:

the symbolism of the Iron Curtain moves

the Afghan story to a completely different

perspective.

Millions of people whose relatives have been

before they die. Every year, millions of Muslims

from 150 different countries get together

in Bangladesh for three days to pray for

persecuted people and world peace. It is the

second largest religious gathering after the

Hajj.

per la sua opera di dialogo e per lo stretto

rapporto con l’Islam. Durante la guerra civile

siriana, diversi membri della comunità sono

stati rapiti dal gruppo terroristico ISIS: in fuga

dalla persecuzione alcuni monaci e monache

hanno trovato una nuova casa nella città di

Sulaymaniyah, in Iraq. Con l’espandersi del

conflitto accolsero molte famiglie sfollate

nel monastero. Come uno dei diversi

programmi ospitati dalla comunità, si è

svolto un laboratorio teatrale. I partecipanti

costruiscono un’opera teatrale sulle basi del

libro “La conferenza degli uccelli” del mistico

islamico Farid ud.Din Attar, intrecciando

le allegorie sufi con le proprie esperienze

personali.

The Syrian-catholic community of Al-Khalil is renown

for its work of dialogue and close relationship to

Islam. During the Syrian civil war, several members

of the community were kidnapped by the terrorist

group ISIS: Fleeing the persecution some of the

monks and nuns found a new home in the city of

Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. With the expanding conflict they

took in many displaced families in the monastery.

As one of the different programs hosted by the

community, a theatre workshop took place. The

participants build a play on bases of the book “The

conference of the birds” by the islamic mystic Farid

ud.Din Attar, intertwining the Sufi allegories with

their own personal experiences.

Gyan Bhadur’s narrative the documentary

attempts to unravel his knots on the time

and experiences over the years he spent by

the blazing pyres. Set against the backdrop

of charred wood and smoke, the film is a

conditions of which he was ignorant as a regimented

missionary, and grapples with the basic human

dilemma of how one might do good in the world.

the Christian Easter would be celebrated on the

Sunday following the first full moon of spring.

Spring begins between the 20th and the 21st of

March, coinciding with the astronomical Equinox.

Thus, in Guatemala, two festivities of two

different cultures and spiritualties are celebrated

at the same time. In the ritual centres of ancient

Mayan cities, indigenous people celebrate the

Equinox annually on the 21st of March to herald

the rising of the sun and the beginning of a new

period of fertility. A few days later, Christian

Holy Week takes place, during which Christians

commemorate the last days of Jesus.

Luminoso - The Shining Path - iniziò una

brutale operazione terroristica nella regione

rurale delle Ande del Perù. Il Sentiero

In the early 1980s a communist revolutionary

organization called Sendero Luminoso - the Shining

Path - began a brutal terrorism operation in the

rural Andes region of Peru. The Shining Path used

terror ruthlessly. The army sent to fight the terrorist

group also used excessive force, destroying villages

and killing many innocent civilians. In 2003, at the

end of the 20-year insurgency, over 70,000 people

died or disappeared.The resulting trauma, still today,

profoundly affects the daily life of the Peruvian people.

Bringing care and solace to these remote areas is the

Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Jesus Word

and Victim. This is their story - bringing faith to those

on the margins.

between people thanks to his ability to listen

and to share a closeness. Is it enough to

The Health Center built from Via Pacis in Sembé

in Congo-Brazzaville in memory of Don Domenico

Pincelli, one of the founders of the Association,

is nationally considered one of the best. Since

2004 we have been collaborating with Sister Rita

Panzarin who manages the Center together with

sisters and local doctors. With the construction of

this hospital we wanted to be close to the pygmy

population, and to other ethnic groups who live

on the borders of the African forest, to bring them

not only a message of faith but also concrete

help in terms of health and education. In 2020 it

became a basic hospital and a district hospital as

well as a reference for other districts.

from their homes in Arizona & Mexico to

Magdalena de Kino in Sonora, mostly on

foot or horseback. This cultural phenomenon

extends over 3 centuries and represents a

tradition that predates modern political

boundaries. Our story is about that journey,

told by anthropologists, historians and

everyday people.

“The Tour of Dreams” è un film su

bluegrass, gospel e Dio, e segue il viaggio

musicale della band estone Robirohi, un

gigante nel loro campo ma generalmente

“The Tour of Dreams” is a film about bluegrass,

gospel, and God, and follows the musical

journey of the Estonian band Robirohi, a giant

in their own field but generally not particularly

well-known outside their immediate circle. Most

of their concerts are held in churches, schools,

and small cultural centers, and their soulful

music gets precious little exposure on non-

Christian radio. Their mission is a true one – all

band members but one have experienced a divine

intervention, a “warm wave of light that passes

through the entire body”. But how to translate

this touch of God into commercial success?

Ganga is a women who undergoes with her

monthly periods in a small village in rural part

of Karnataka in India. In this village there is

still today a particular cast: when a woman

gets her monthly periods she will be sent out of

the house for 3 days to stay in a hut out of the

village where no proper facilities are given, due

to this superstition beliefs: so many womens

have faced probelms and even deaths have

happend ... This film is all about that practice

and journey of their 3d ays isolation taboo.

A young thief steals a bag from a girl in a

park. As he’s getting away from his pursuers

he comes across an old priest who helps him

to hide out. The priest wishes to save the thief

from the clutches of crime and stereotypes

which prevent the guy from thinking for

himself. The priest noticed the thief is a betting

man so with guile and manipulations he

pushes the guy to make a bet that the world

ends tomorrow. Each of them puts something

the Government conniving police brutality led

to a large scale of social movement and the

protesters laid out five key demands to prevent

suffering again. The social movement is still

ongoing so the film does not have a clear

ending.

Marco Trovato, the author of the exhibition,

has been the editorial director of Africa

magazine since 2006 and coordinator of the

cultural initiatives promoted by the magazine.

He has traveled to the African continent since

1990, carrying out surveys and reportages.

He takes care of the creation of photographic

exhibitions, conferences and cultural initiatives

and training courses on Africa.

Nana Kofi Osei, aka “Nana Motobi” è

produttore, rapper ghanese e fondatore

della casa Abe pe show. E’ attivo da più

di 15 anni nella scena internazionale con

le sue produzioni che spaziano dal rap,

afrobeat e hiplife. E’ riconoscibile per il suo

flow e la sua energia esplosiva sul palco.

Il suo nuovo progetto è Mic&Beat, un

album che vuole promuovere l’omonima

piattaforma che sarà uno spazio dedicato

alla connessione di artisti, prodotti e servizi

per la crescita e riconoscimento del settore

hip hop, afrobeat, afrotrap, drum&base,

dancehall.

Nana Kofi Osei, aka “Nana Motobi” is a

producer, Ghanaian rapper and founder of

the Abe pe show house. He has been active

for more than 15 years on the international

scene with his productions ranging from rap,

afrobeat and hiplife. He is recognizable for his

flow and his explosive energy on stage. His new

project is Mic & Beat, an album that aims to

promote the platform of the same name which

will be a space dedicated to the connection of

artists, products and services for the growth

and recognition of the hip hop, afrobeat,

afrotrap, drum & bass, dancehall sector.

Big House

Gabriele Casagrande, in arte Big

House, inizia ad appassionarsi al genere

musicale hip hop, scrivendo i primi testi

in rima e sviluppando metrica e flow

nella sua adolescenza. Poco dopo inizia

a comporre le prime strumentali da

autodidatta. E’ stato parte del collettivo

Birrette Family e apre l’home studio

BHL Records, in Trentino-Alto Adige,

dove registra i primi demo del gruppo e

svariati progetti musicali. Si trasferisce a

Manchester per finire gli studi e si laurea

alla Futureworks University (UCLan)

in Audio Engineering and Production.

Ha collaborato con Abe pe show nell’

album Turn Up nel team di produzione

come sound engineer insieme a Nana e

altri professionisti.

Gabriele Casagrande, aka Big House,

began to get passionate about the hip hop

musical genre, writing the first rhyming

lyrics and developing metrics and flow in

his adolescence. Shortly after he begins to

compose the first instrumentals as a selftaught.

He was part of the Birrette Family

collective and opens the home studio BHL

Records, in Trentino-Alto Adige, where he

records the group’s first demos and various

musical projects. He moved to Manchester

to finish his studies and graduated from

Futureworks University (UCLan) in Audio

Engineering and Production. He collaborated

with Abe on the Turn Up album on the

production team as a sound engineer along

with Nana and other professionals.

Barbara Montecucco, in arte BARBARA

MONTE, è una cantautrice e violinista

piemontese. All’età di quattro anni sale

per la prima volta sul palco, mentre a

sei inizia a studiare il violino. Nel 2007

firma, insieme al M° Pino Donaggio

la colonna sonora del film “MILANO

PALERMO-il ritorno. Nell’estate 2008,

il suo terzo singolo “Il respiro di te”

viene scelto come sottofondo musicale

della fiction “Fidati di me”, andata in

onda su RAI Uno. Nell’estate 2010 il

suo brano “Mare Senza Memoria” viene

scelto dall’ Ente Nazionale Protezione

Animali come colonna sonora della

campagna nazionale di sensibilizzazione

contro l’abbandono degli animali ed

è proprio grazie a questa canzone che

il 25 settembre 2010 viene invitata da

ANDREA BOCELLI a duettare in Egitto

davanti alle suggestive Piramidi de Il

Cairo, durante la prima tappa del tour

internazionale del tenore. Nel settembre

2013 partecipa come finalista, con il

brano ‘Il Velo Di Maya’, al concorso

per cantautori ‘’Poggio Bustone’’ in

memoria di Lucio Battisti, conquistando

il 3° posto e il premio come Personalità

Artistica Emergente.

A giugno 2015 vince il concorso Senza

Etichetta aggiudicandosi la borsa di

studio per autori che le permetterà di

frequentare il CET del M° Mogol nella

classe guidata da Giuseppe Anastasi.

Finalista del concorso per Autori

‘Genova per voi 2017’, a ottobre 2017,

partecipa al concorso Carlo Donida e

vince il premio ‘F.I.P.I.’ e il premio ‘La

Compagnia’.

Sempre nel 2017 Barbara firma un

contratto di un anno con il noto

cabaret parigino ‘Don Camilo’. Aprirà

il sipario ogni sera esibendosi portando

un po’ d’Italia a Parigi.

Barbara continua a portare avanti la

sua attività artistica tra Francia e Italia

lavorando al suo prossimo EP.

Barbara Montecucco, aka BARBARA

MONTE, is a Piedmontese singer-songwriter

and violinist. At the age of four she went on

stage for the first time, while at six she began

to study the violin. In 2007 she, together

with Maestro Pino Donaggio, signed the

soundtrack of the film “MILANO PALERMOil

ritorno”. In the summer of 2008, her third

single “Il respiro di te” was chosen as the

background music for the fiction “Fidati di

me”, aired on RAI Uno. In the summer of 2010

her song “Mare Senza Memoria” was chosen

by the National Animal Protection Agency

as the soundtrack of the national campaign

to raise awareness against the abandonment

of animals and it is thanks to this song that

on 25 September 2010 she was invited by

ANDREA BOCELLI to duet in Egypt in front

of the suggestive Pyramids of Cairo, during

the first stage of the tenor’s international

tour. In September 2013 she participated as a

finalist, with the song ‘Il Velo Di Maya’, in the

competition for songwriters ‘’ Poggio Bustone

‘’ in memory of Lucio Battisti, winning the 3rd

place and the prize as an Emerging Artistic

Personality.

In June 2015 she won the Senza Etichetta

competition, winning the scholarship for

authors that will allow her to attend the CET

of M ° Mogol in the class led by Giuseppe

Anastasi. She was a finalist in the competition

for authors ‘Genoa for you 2017’, in October

2017, she participated in the Carlo Donida

competition and won the ‘F.I.P.I.’ and the ‘La

Compagnia’ award.

chiatta del Burchiello che se ne andava

di porto in porto sul Canale Brenta da

Venezia fino Padova, come nella celebre

raccolta di madrigali di Adriano Banchieri

del 1605, ma si allarga ad esplorare

anche nuovi porti fluviali: da Portogruaro

a Pordenone, per cominciare, e poi

risalendo le antiche vie dell’acqua che

dalla Serenissima si diramavano come

vene nell’entroterra, attraverso tutto il

Triveneto fino ai lontani affluenti del Po,

nella bergamasca e in terra lombarda o

sabauda. Chissà? Forse un giorno, per

mare o per terra, la barca dei comici,

potrà approdare in tutte le altre regioni

d’Italia e del mondo? Ad ogni porto e

ad ogni tappa la Commedia in Barca

si ferma, offre il proprio divertente

repertorio di comici casi umani, visita un

piccolo grande mondo di uomini e donne,

di servi e padroni, di soldati e capitani,

di giovani e vecchi, di amori e tradimenti,

in un miscuglio di collaborazione e

competizione, di orgoglio e autoironia,

ma sempre nel segno di un’intramontabile

amicizia che rende tutti ridenti fratelli.

Tra canti, lazzi, scherzi, racconti, duetti,

rodomontate e balletti, il viaggio di questi

comici stimola negli spettatori il viaggio

della fantasia e della memoria.

“La Commedia in Barca” recalls the ancient

Burchiello barge that went from port to port on

the Brenta Canal from Venice to Padua, as in

the famous collection of madrigals by Adriano

Banchieri from 1605. But it also expands to

explore new river ports : from Portogruaro to

Pordenone, to begin with, and then going up

the ancient waterways that branched off from

the Serenissima like veins into the hinterland,

through the whole Triveneto to the distant

tributaries of the Po, in the Bergamo area and

in Lombardy or Savoy land. Maybe? Maybe one

day, by sea or by land, the comedians’ boat

will be able to land in all other regions of Italy

and the world? At each port and at each stage

the Commedia in Barca stops, offers its own

amusing repertoire of comic human cases, visits

a little big world of men and women, of servants

and masters, of soldiers and captains, of young

and old, of loves and betrayals, in a mixture of

collaboration and competition, of pride and

self-irony, but always in the sign of a timeless

friendship that makes all brothers laugh.

Between songs, jokes, jokes, tales, duets, rodeos

and ballets, the journey of these comedians

stimulates in the spectators the journey of

imagination and memory.

Rebecca Covaciu, giovane e nota

artista di etnia rom, nasce ad Arad,

in Romania, nel 1996. A sette anni

parte con la famiglia per un lungo

viaggio tra Brasile, Argentina, Spagna,

Francia e Italia. Fin da piccolissima ama

disegnare e lo fa, nelle baracche, per

strada o sotto i ponti, con quello che

ha a disposizione: terra bagnata, petali

di fiori, sassi. Nel 2008 vince il premio

Arte e intercultura Unicef e riceve in

regalo la sua prima scatola di colori.

Da allora non ha smesso di dipingere.

Le sue opere sono esposte al Museo

d’Arte Contemporanea di Hilo (Hawaii),

rappresentative dell’arte rom in Europa.

Oltre alla pittura, che resta in cima ai

suoi pensieri, la giovane artista si dedica

ora alla scultura, alla poesia, al teatro

e alla musica. Recita in una compagnia

teatrale e studia violino con il maestro

Uri Chameides, grande musicista

e didatta israeliano, co-fondatore

dell’Accademia Musicale di Brera.

Chameides crede nel futuro di Rebecca

anche nel campo della musica e la segue

con particolare attenzione.

Rebecca Covaciu, a young and well-known

artist of Roma ethnicity, was born in Arad,

Romania, in 1996. At the age of seven she

left with her family for a long journey between

Brazil, Argentina, Spain, France and Italy.

From an early age she loves to draw and

does it, in the shacks, on the street or under

bridges, with what she has at her disposal:

wet earth, flower petals, stones. In 2008 he

won the Unicef Art and Interculture Award

and received his first box of colors as a gift.

He hasn’t stopped painting since. His works

are exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary

Art in Hilo (Hawaii), representative of Roma

art in Europe. In addition to painting, which

remains at the top of her thoughts, the young

artist now dedicates herself to sculpture,

poetry, theater and music. He acts in a theater

company and studies violin with maestro

Uri Chameides, a great Israeli musician

and teacher, co-founder of the Brera Music

Conference by Professor Giuliana Andreotti,

Giuliana Andreotti, former professor of

Geography at the University of Trento, is

the author of the fundamental essay on the

ancient pilgrimage routes in Trentino, from

the early Middle Ages to modernity. A journey

into the world of pilgrims of all ages: a

phenomenon that affects millions of people,

from devotees on the way to Rome, to Popes

and Emperors, to armies and Crusaders

from the Great North to Jerusalem. History,

curiosities, anecdotes and hospitality that have

also shaped our roads and our cities.

Gigi Zoppello, a journalist from the Adige, is a

volunteer of the Via Romea Germanica, today

a journey of walking tourism unknown to the

European Cultural Route from the Council of

Europe. From the travel diary of Abbot Albert

of Stade from 1236 to a contemporary slow

tourism route.

Il progetto ha previsto la realizzazione

di una “summer school” in occasione

di musicaRivafestival 2021, tenuta

dal noto compositore di fama

internazionale Carlo Crivelli, destinata

a giovani studenti e finalizzata alla

produzione di musica da associare a

produzioni video, cortometraggi creativi

o documentari.

L’associazione di musiche originali,

composte dagli allievi del corso estivo,

ad un cortometraggio prodotto

da Religion Today Film Festival ha

costituito, contemporaneamente, parte

della produzione e contenuto di base

della “summer school”.

Il progetto si conclude il 22 settembre,

in prima assoluta a Trento, nella sala

Marangonerie del prestigioso Palazzo

del Buonconsiglio, in occasione

dell’inaugurazione di Religion Today

Film Festival, con la presentazione del

cortometraggio e le musiche originali

per esso prodotte e con la presentazione

in replica della medesima produzione a

Bolzano, il 28 settembre presso il Teatro

Rainerum, in occasione di una giornata

dedicata alle scuole.

Presentation of the soundtracks of the

project “La Natura della musica” in

“La Natura della Musica” is a complex

production that is divided into several

interdependent phases, destined to develop a

particularly incisive path in terms of territorial

synergies and interdisciplinarity, which has

involved the collaboration of two institutions

of absolute prestige within the Trentino

cultural context: musicaRivafestival and

Religion Today FilmFestival.

The project envisaged the creation of

a “summer school” on the occasion of

musicaRivafestival 2021, held by the wellknown

internationally renowned composer

Carlo Crivelli, aimed at young students and

at producing music to be associated with

video productions, creative short films or

documentaries.

The combination of original music, composed

by the students of the summer course, with a

short film produced by Religion Today Film

Festival has simultaneously constituted part

of the production and basic content of the

“summer school”.

The project ends on 22 September, for the

first time in Trento, in the Marangonerie room

of the prestigious Palazzo del Buonconsiglio,

on the occasion of the inauguration of

the Religion Today Film Festival, with the

presentation of the short film and the

original music produced for it and with

the presentation in a replica of the same

production in Bolzano, on 28 September at

the Rainerum Theater, on the occasion of a

day dedicated to schools.

Carlo Crivelli

Nato a Roma nel 1953, si è diplomato

nel 1983 presso il Conservatorio di

Santa Cecilia in Composizione. Ha

concentrato la sua attività nel campo

della composizione concertistica

tradizionale e in quello della musica

applicata, con particolare attenzione

al rapporto con l’immagine.Ha vinto il

“Premio Carlo Savina” per l’eccellenza

alla musica conferito dal Festival del

Cinema di Spello ed i Borghi Umbri. E’

stato Vincitore del “Globo d’oro della

Stampa Estera” per la miglior colonna

sonora per il film Sangue del mio

sangue. Ha ricevuto il Premio “Charlot”

alla carriera, Festival di Salerno. Ha

ottenuto il “Premio Colonna Sonora”

alla carriera (RdC Awards 2013,

storici riconoscimenti della “Rivista del

Cinematografo”) nell’ambito del Tertio

Millennio Film Fest. Ha ricevuto il Premio

“Ennio Morricone”, nell’ambito di Bari

addormentata. Ha ottenuto il Premio

Born in Rome in 1953, he graduated in

Zahra Ahmadi

A Kabul Zahra è un’imprenditrice di 32

anni e mentre tutta la sua famiglia - i

genitori, le sorelle e il fratello Hamed

Ahmadi - hanno lasciato il paese nei

primi Anni 2000 e si sono trasferiti a

Venezia, Zahra ha trascorso diversi anni

in Iran per poi tornare nella sua città

natale, Kabul. Lì prende in gestione il

ristornate Saharpaz e con i risparmi

messi da parte progetta di aprire entro

la fine del 2021 il suo secondo locale,

il Mehman-e Sahar. Tuttavia, verso

l’estate la situazione in Afghanistan

inizia a farsi tesa, Zahra si oppone

fermamente alla presa di Kabul da

parte dei talebani e scende in piazza

a manifestare, mettendoci la faccia.

Forse si espone anche troppo, tant’è che

all’effettivo arrivo dei talebani il fratello

Hamed lanciato un appello di solidarietà

per portare Zahra in Italia. All’ultima

Mostra del cinema di Venezia ha ritirato

il premio Women in Cinema Award.

Zahra is a 32-year-old entrepreneur in Kabul

and while her entire family - parents, sisters

and brother Hamed Ahmadi - left the country

in the early 2000s and moved to Venice, Zahra

spent several years in Iran, and then returned

to her hometown of Kabul. There she took

over the Saharpaz restaurant and with the

savings set aside she plans to open her second

restaurant, the Mehman-e Sahar, by the end

of 2021. However, towards the summer the

situation in Afghanistan begins to get tense,

Zahra is firmly opposed to the takeover of

Kabul by the Taliban and takes to the streets

to demonstrate, putting her face to it. Perhaps

she exposes herself too much, so much so that

when the Taliban actually arrives, her brother

Hamed launched an appeal for solidarity to

bring Zahra to Italy. At the last Venice Film

Festival she received the Women in Cinema

Award.

Dopo quella che sembra una visita

a Kabul e che sembra quella a una

qualsiasi città del Medio Oriente, il

viaggio di Caridi prende la direzione

del nord. Accompagnato dal suo

ospite Mouquin, dal kalashnikov della

scorta armata Shirin e dall’autista,

percorre la Strada Centrale, che

collega Kabul a Herat. Chi leggendo lo

segue, incontrerà i Budda di Bayman,

converserà con gli Hazara, gli abitanti

di quei luoghi, sempre sottomessi ai

pashtun, ai tagiki, ai talebani. Per gente

come quella, abituata a combattere

per la propria sopravvivenza da secoli,

la distruzione dei Budda rappresenta

soltanto un episodio di una millenaria

guerra intestina. Con la semplicità

che gli è naturale Caridi racconta di

viaggi in orari antelucani, “per poter

contare sul sonno di eventuali briganti

in agguato” e che lo conducono verso i

laghi Band-e Amir e in questo percorso

il lettore concorda con l’interrogativo

che il viaggiatore si pone: perché i mezzi

di comunicazione descrivono solo

l’aspetto più drammatico e violento

dell’Afghanistan?

After what looks like a visit to Kabul, and which

looks like a visit to any city in the Middle East,

Caridi’s journey heads north. Accompanied

by his host Mouquin, the Kalashnikov of the

armed escort Shirin and the driver, he travels

along the Central Road, which connects

Kabul to Herat. Those who read it will meet

Montagna Italia nasce nel 1996 come

Associazione Orobie Festival, organizzando

e promuovendo, inizialmente, le

attività turistiche delle Alpi Orobie, una

sottosezione delle Alpi e delle Prealpi

bergamasche. Nel 2000 le iniziative

vengono estese a tutte le località montane

e ai parchi alpini in Italia. L’associazione

decide così di ampliare sensibilmente il

proprio campo d’interesse, realizzando

su tutto il territorio alpino numerosi

festival e rassegne culturali. La rassegna

itinerante del mondo alpino lombardo,

Orobie Festival, comprendeva oltre 40

manifestazioni dislocate nelle varie località

delle Valli bergamasche e vi parteciparono,

dal 1996 al 2002, i principali enti dediti

alla valorizzazione di quei luoghi. Ancora

oggi l’associazione organizza diversi film

festival di montagna a Bergamo, Verona,

Sestriere, Temù, in valle Camonica, Milano

e Pontresina in valle Engadina, Svizzera.

The itinerant review of the Lombard alpine world,

Orobie Festival, included over 40 events located in

the various locations of the Bergamo valleys and

from 1996 to 2002, the main bodies dedicated

mountain film festivals in Bergamo, Verona,

Sestriere, Temù, in the Camonica valley, Milan and

Pontresina in the Engadine valley, Switzerland.

deals with comics and illustration. It was born

crea una connessione tra questa produzione

di opere e la sala, luogo naturale di vita

del Cinema. La sua realizzazione si basa

sull’innovazione tecnologica dei sistemi

di proiezione nelle sale. È una Srls che

distribuisce nei cinema opere prodotte

da videomaker provenienti dall’universo

underground delle produzioni indipendenti.

L’operazione prevede il coinvolgimento

del network delle sale cinematografiche di

qualità per la proiezione delle opere prima

del film in cartellone, senza sovrapprezzi sul

biglietto.

It is a film distribution company entirely dedicated

to short films. Today’s big production of short

Our wine tasting

La passione per il vino che ha originato

Maso Dossi parte da lontano, dai “Doneti”

di Cimone, i fratelli Andrea e Augusto

Rossi, che aprirono un’osteria negli anni

’30, poi chiusa con l’inizio della seconda

guerra mondiale. Fu uno dei nipoti, Carlo,

a riprendere anni dopo l’attività creando

negli anni ‘60 l’Azienda Agricola Vini “Carlo

Rossi”.

Attrezzò con lo stretto necessario la

cantina della casa materna, nel centro

del paese di Cimone, sistemando i “volti”

e producendo vino con la metodologia

tramandata in famiglia. Agli inizi dovette

accontentarsi di vendere vino sfuso a pochi

clienti occasionali, parenti ed amici. Nel

1970 decise di attrezzarsi con un sistema

semiautomatico di imbottigliamento:

il primo vino proposto fu il “Trentino

Merlot D.O.C. 1971”. Con il tempo

l’attività si sviluppò e fu necessaria una

sede più grande: nel 1985 Carlo costruì,

coinvolgendo tutta la famiglia, la sede

attuale, in mezzo ai vigneti in località “Ai

Dossi”.

La nuova azienda diventò così “Maso

ai Dossi”. Dal 1994 nella conduzione

della cantina è subentrato il figlio Silvio,

diplomato all’Istituto Agrario di S. Michele

all’Adige, validamente aiutato in azienda

dal figlio Federico, operatore tecnico

agricolo e dal nipote Manuel, perito

agrario.

L’innovazione e l’adeguamento alle nuove

tecnologie in grado di migliorare la qualità

sono una costante della filosofia aziendale

di Silvio, che continua così la tradizione

famigliare con lo stesso entusiasmo dei

nonni ma, com’è giusto, anche con lo

sguardo rivolto al futuro. L’azienda dispone

di 9 ettari di vigneti ai piedi del Monte

Bondone, una zona particolarmente

vocata alla coltivazione della vite.

Venite anche voi a visitare questa bella

azienda famigliare trentina, dove aleggia

l’entusiasmo e la passione per il proprio

lavoro, la semplicità e la schiettezza della

vecchia osteria quando il contadino, dopo

una giornata di duro lavoro in campagna,

si ritrovava a chiacchierare con “en góz de

vin bon”.

The passion for wine that originated Maso Dossi

starts from afar, from the “Doneti” of Cimone, the

brothers Andrea and Augusto Rossi, who opened

a tavern in the 1930s, which was then closed

with the beginning of the Second World War. It

was one of the grandsons, Carlo, who resumed

business years later, creating the “Carlo Rossi”

Wine Farm in the 1960s.

He equipped the cellar of the maternal house in

the center of the town of Cimone with the bare

necessities, arranging the “faces” and producing

wine with the methodology handed down in the

family. At the beginning he had to settle for selling

bulk wine to a few occasional customers, relatives

and friends. In 1970 he decided to equip himself

with a semi-automatic bottling system: the first

wine proposed was the “Trentino Merlot D.O.C.

1971 “. Over time, the business developed and

a larger site was needed: in 1985 Carlo built the

current site, involving the whole family, in the

middle of the vineyards in the “Ai Dossi” area.

The new company thus became “Maso ai Dossi”.

In 1994, his son Silvio, who graduated from the

Agricultural Institute of S. Michele all’Adige,

took over the management of the winery and

was effectively helped in the company by his

son Federico, an agricultural technician and his

nephew Manuel, an agricultural expert.

Innovation and adaptation to new technologies

capable of improving quality are a constant in

Silvio’s business philosophy, who thus continues

the family tradition with the same enthusiasm

as his grandparents but, as is right, also with an

eye to the future. The company has 9 hectares of

vineyards at the foot of Monte Bondone, an area

particularly suited to the cultivation of vines.
