The Congress will take place in October 10-14, 2005 in the Centro Museale “Centro Musei delle Scienze Naturali” of the
University of Naples “Federico II”, via Mezzocannone 8, starting 8.30 a.m..
The Congress Hall is in the Old Town Centre, a few steps from the most important monuments.
You can reach Naples by: plane+bus and/or taxi, International Capodichino Airport; train, Napoli Centrale Station; car,
motorways A1, A3 and A7, exit Napoli Centro.
The official languages of the Congress are Italian, French, English and Spanish. Abstracts may be written in one of these
languages.
Accomodation
A list of recommended hotels, all near to the Congress Hall, will be sent with the 2 nd circular.
Excursions
Visits to the most important monuments in Naples and the surroundings will be organized for accompanying persons.
Some Neapolitan SIM members of the section Campania-Apulia, together with the Neapolitan Diving Associations will be
available for guided dives in the Bay of Naples.
On Wednesday 12 October one session will be held in the “Centro Cerio” in Capri. Participants will have free time to visit the
nicest sites of the island. A trip still to be defined is also planned on Friday 14 October.
Amateur malacology
A special section devoted to amateur malacology will be organized by Sergio Duraccio: identification of uncertain species,
exchange, exhibitions of rare specimens, etc.
Registration fee including proceedings and coffee breaks is € 75.00 for payment before 30.06.05 and € 120.00 after.
