Hardwood Purchasing Plans THE FOLLOWING IS AN EXCLUSIVE ANNUAL REPORT COMPILED BY NATIONAL HARDWOOD MAGAZINE ABOUT THE 2015 PURCHASING PLANS OF MANY OF THE LARGEST HARDWOOD LUMBER BUYERS IN NORTH AMERICA. AL GOODRICH GOODRICH BROTHERS INC. PEWAMO, MI Goodrich Brothers anticipates having a higher volume of lumber purchases in 2015. In 2014, we experienced good product sales of mouldings, stair parts and interior doors in FAS Poplar, Red and White Oak, and Hard Maple. Our customers prefer Poplar, and Red and White Oak so we will continue with our standard products and don’t plan to introduce new ones in 2015. We are a manufacturer and retailer of custom and radius mouldings, pre-hung and custom doors, and stair systems. We do anticipate tight lumber supplies from the mills in 2015, however, along with longer lead times on lumber orders. CHRIS GAHM KITCHEN KOMPACT INC. JEFFERSONVILLE, IN Lumber purchases are not expected to change dramatically in 2015 for Kitchen Kompact. Our Beech cabinet line has sold well and it’s anticipated to be strong next year because it is currently the preferred wood species of our customers. We are discussing possibilities in regards to new products and services next year, but no changes are planned definitively. The company currently offers various styles including Glenwood Beech, Bretwood, Mellowood, Richwood Lite and Chadwood. Among our value-added services are cabinet assembly and finishing. I anticipate our biggest challenge in 2015 will be having supply meet our demand. DAN JOHANEK BAYER INTERIOR WOODS SAUK CENTRE, MN I don’t anticipate anything changing in 2015 in regards to lumber purchasing, other than buying more. We’re expecting 2015 to be busier than 2014 has been. Our fully assembled and finished cabinet sales increased in 2014 and our customers prefer these in Red Oak, Cherry and Alder. We don’t anticipate introducing new products or services next year. We do know that weather will play a big part in our production and could pose some challenges through early next year, but that is the only challenge we’re concerned about at this time.
