Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association Convenes in Greenville Photos By Paul Miller Jr. Greenville, SC–The Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association (SCMA) recently gathered here for its 2018 Annual Meeting. The event was held in conjunction with the Hardwood Manufacturers Association’s 2018 National Conference and Expo at the Hyatt Regency Greenville. During the two-day event, more than 30 participants, representing SCMA members, promotion sponsors, and guests networked with industry peers and vendors, received an update on the Association’s successful promotion campaign, previewed this year’s promotion projects, discussed topics facing the Cypress industry, and elected officers for 2018-19. Members elected Mark Tuck of Gates Milling Inc., Gatesville, NC, as SCMA president. Tripp Josey of Josey Lumber Company Inc., Scotland Neck, NC, was elected as vice president. Attendees also expressed appreciation to Stephen Logue of Battle Lumber Company, Wadley, GA, for his two years of service as SCMA president and vice president. Future Association meetings were discussed. Details of SCMA’s 2018 Mid-Year Meeting will be forthcoming. The 2019 Annual Meeting of the Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association is scheduled for March 22, at the Hyatt Regency in Savannah, GA.
