Vertrouwen in Surinaams Rode Kruis
Confidence in the Surinamese Red Cross
Het Surinaams Rode Kruis (SRK) heeft op 25 augustus een
nieuwe garage voor haar voertuigen en opslagruimten officieel
in gebruik genomen. De oude gebouwen moeten plaats
maken voor een nieuw kantoorgebouw. De nieuwe garage
en opslagruimten zijn gerealiseerd met ondersteuning van
Staatsolie. Tijdens een korte ceremonie bij de in gebruikname,
sprak Marja Naarendorp, voorzitter van het SRK, haar
dank uit aan Staatsolie. Zij gaf aan dat met de realisatie van
dit project de organisatie verder kan gaan met modernisering
van haar huisvesting en infrastructuur, waardoor zij in
staat is een optimale dienstverlening te garanderen voor de
komende jaren. Samen met Ben Nuboer, vertegenwoordiger
van Staatsolie, onthulde zij een plakkaat.
De nieuwe kantoorgebouwen zullen tot stand komen met
ondersteuning van het Nederlands Rode Kruis. Het startsein
voor dit project werd ook op 25 augustus gegeven door
Ton Huijzer van het Nederlands Rode Kruis, door met een
moker symbolisch de muur van de oude garage in te slaan.

The Surinamese Red Cross (SRC) officially opened its new garage and
warehouse on 25 August. The old buildings had to make way for new
offices. Staatsolie contributed in building the new garage and warehouse.
Marja Naarendorp, chair of the SRC, in her address, thanked Staatsolie.
She stipulated that modernizing the offices and infrastructure will enable the
organization to guarantee quality service to the public in the years to come.
Together with Ben Nuboer, representative of Staatsolie’s management, a
commemorative placate was unveiled.
Now that the new garage and warehouse are built, construction of the new
offices can start. The Dutch Red Cross, a long time partner of the SRC, will
realize this project. On 25 August Ton Huijzer of the Dutch Red Cross symbolically
gave the starting signal by demolishing a wall of the old garage.
