belang in Blok 31 offshore Suriname
Staatsolie
Maatschappij Suriname N.V. en Maersk Oil Suriname B.V. hebben
in november 2004 een productiedelingsovereenkomst (production
sharing contract, PSC) gesloten voor Blok 31.
Teikoku zal via haar dochtermaatschappij Teikoku
Oil (Suriname) Co. participeren in Blok
31. In juli 2007 bereikten Teikoku Suriname
en Maersk Oil een overeenkomst voor de
participatie in blok 31.
overeengekomen exploratieprogramma reeds uitgevoerd.
onderzoek uitgevoerd.
sectoren, was eind augustus in Suriname
om met de regering besprekingen te
voeren over onder meer de bauxietsector,
energie, woningbouw en onderwijs.
Enkele van de delegatieleden hebben
zich op 23 augustus georiënteerd bij
Staatsolie. De gasten werden verwelkomd
door algemeen directeur Marc
Japanese Oil Company Buys into Block
31 Offshore Suriname
Teikoku Oil Co. of Japan has recently acquired a 35% interest in
Block 31 offshore Suriname. Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname
NV and Maersk Oil Suriname BV signed a Production Sharing
Contract (PSC) for Block 31 in November 2004.
Teikoku will participate in the
Block 31 operations through
its subsidiary Teikoku Oil
(Suriname). The Japanese company
reached an agreement
with Maersk Oil in July 2007
for participation in Block 31. On
8 August 2007 the agreement
between the two foreign companies
was approved under the
conditions of the PSC between
Staatsolie and Maersk Oil.
Block 31 covers an area of more
than 13,800 sq. kilometers and
is 30 kilometers off the coast. The depth varies from 20 to 130
meters. Maersk Oil has completed the schedule for phase one of
the exploration program agreed upon with Staatsolie. The schedule
included the acquisition of two-dimensional seismic data. A
three-year phase 2 of the exploration period, carrying a drilling
commitment, will follow from May 2008.
Teikoku already has Latin American operations, namely in the
Venezuelan and Mexican Oil and Gas industries. With its stake in
Block 31 the company hopes to expand its international operations
as well as its presence in Latin America.
Since 2004, Staatsolie has signed four production sharing contracts
with international oil and gas companies for offshore exploration.
The Spanish company Repsol YPF signed a contract in
2004 for Block 30. The American companies Occidental and Noble
Energy bought stakes into the same Block afterwards. At the start
of 2007 a contract was signed for Block 37 with Murphy Oil, an
American company.
government. Some members of
the delegation visited Staatsolie on
August 23. The guests were welcomed
by the Staatsolie Managing
