MUSEU ARQUEOLÓGICO DE S. MIGUEL DE ODRINHAS<br />

Actualmente, a exposição permanente<br />

do Museu articula-se em<br />

torno da secção <strong>de</strong>signada<br />

“O Livro <strong>de</strong> Pedra”. Aqui contamse<br />

cerca <strong>de</strong> dois milénios <strong>de</strong><br />

História. Ao percorrer a exposição,<br />

o visitante <strong>de</strong>para-se com todo um<br />

conjunto <strong>de</strong> pedras tumulares, sarcófagos,<br />

estelas, altares e lintéis,<br />

<strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong> a época etrusca à Ida<strong>de</strong><br />

Mo<strong>de</strong>rna, com especial relevância<br />

para a notável colecção <strong>de</strong> lápi<strong>de</strong>s<br />

romanas epigrafadas, reconhecidamente<br />

uma das mais significativas<br />

da Península Ibérica.<br />

Na área adjacente ao Museu estão<br />

implantadas as ruínas arqueológicas<br />

<strong>de</strong> São Miguel <strong>de</strong> Odrinhas,<br />

on<strong>de</strong> po<strong>de</strong> observar-se uma necrópole<br />

medieval, utilizada entre meados<br />

do século XII e inícios do século<br />

XVI, directamente relacionada com a<br />

primitiva igreja <strong>de</strong> São Miguel.<br />

MUSEU DO AR<br />

O Museu do Ar possui um acervo<br />

<strong>de</strong> elevado valor histórico, artístico<br />

e documental. A exposição permanente<br />

do museu apresenta aviões,<br />

hélices, painéis <strong>de</strong> instrumentos,<br />

equipamentos <strong>de</strong> navegação e<br />

muitos outros objectos que assinalam<br />

a evolução histórica da aviação.<br />

Das aeronaves expostas, <strong>de</strong>stacam-se<br />

o célebre caça britânico<br />

Spitfire, o Tiger Moth, biplano <strong>de</strong><br />

treino elementar e acrobacia, e o<br />

Widgeon, um anfíbio bimotor.<br />

Existem também algumas réplicas<br />

perfeitas que representam aviões<br />

célebres dos primeiros tempos da<br />

aviação.<br />

The Museum’s permanent exhibition is<br />

centred around the section named “The<br />

Stone Book”. Here, approximately two<br />

millenniums of history are told from the<br />

inscriptions and the iconographic elements<br />

of the stone monuments. When<br />

visiting the exhibition, one sees tomb<br />

stones, sarcophagi, slabs, altars, and<br />

lintels from the Etruscan era till the<br />

Mo<strong>de</strong>rn Age, with special emphasis on<br />

the remarkable collection of Roman<br />

epigraphed gravestones, recognizably<br />

one of the most significant of the<br />

Iberian Peninsula.<br />

In the area adjacent to the Museum<br />

there are the archaeological ruins of<br />

São Miguel <strong>de</strong> Odrinhas, where one can<br />

see a medieval necropolis used<br />

between the middle of the 12th century<br />

and the 16th century, directly related to<br />

the original Church of São Miguel.<br />

Gui<strong>de</strong>d visits to the Museum comprehend<br />

the ruins, as well as the Church of<br />

St. Michael, and are led by specifically<br />

trained gui<strong>de</strong>s.<br />

– 1.00 p.m., and 2.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.<br />

The Air Museum has valuable collections<br />

from the historical, artistic, and<br />

documental point of view. The museum’s<br />

permanent exhibition shows planes,<br />

rotor bla<strong>de</strong>s, instrument panels, navigation<br />

equipment, as well as may other<br />

objects that mark the history of<br />

aviation.<br />

The planes on display inclu<strong>de</strong> the<br />

famous British fighter-plane Spitfire,<br />

the Tiger Moth, a training and acrobatics<br />

biplane, and the Widgeon, a twinengine<br />

amphibian aircraft. There are<br />

also some perfect replicas of famous<br />

planes from the early days of aviation.<br />

Last entry at 4.30 p.m.<br />
