Anointing of the sick
The church encourages all who are ill,
about to undergo surgery, or confined
to their home due to illness to be
prayed over and anointed with sacred oil. This can take
place at a parish Mass, in the home or in the hospital.
Please do not wait for the last moment for yourself or a
loved one to be anointed and by all means speak to a
priest for more information or details.

Meeting with the members of the
Legion of Mary
On Sunday November 23rd, the day of
Christ the King. There will be adoration of the
Blessed Sacrament from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in the
Church followed by a gathering at the hall up to

Enquanto escrevo estas linhas a eleição ainda não
está decidida. Parece bem que o próximo
presidente será Barack Obama. De qualquer
maneira foi uma eleição histórica. Alguns
contentarem se com o resultado e outros
entristeceram-se. O que temos de fazer como uma
nação e o Povo de Deus é apoiar com as nossas
orações o candidato que foi escolhido. Seguindo
está uma oração que poderíamos usar, pedindo a
presença de Deus nas decisões do Presidente, o
Senado e o Congresso, que tudo seja para
melhorar as condições da maioria, não só deste
País mas do mundo.
Oração Pelas Autoridades Civis
Nós Vos pedimos Senhor de todo poder, sabedoria
e justiça! Através das quais a autoridade é
exercida, as leis são aplicadas e julgamentos
decretados, ajudai com o Vosso Espírito Santo e
fortaleza ao povo americano neste momento em
que temos escolhido o próximo presidente dos
Estados Unidos da América afim de que a sua
administração seja exercida com prudência e
sobretudo útil ao povo a que ele vai presidir
encorajando o devido respeito pela religião e

Greetings,
As I write these lines the election is not yet decided.
It seems well that the next president may very well be
Barack Obama. At any rate it was a historic election.
Some will be happy and others sad. What we need to
do as a nation and as the People of God is support
with our prayers whichever candidate is elected. Following
is a prayer asking the presence of God in the
decisions of the President, the Senate and the Congress,
that all will be decided to improve the conditions
of the majority, not just in this country but of
the world.
A Prayer for Civil Authorities
We pray Thee O God of might, wisdom and justice!
Through whom authority is rightly administered,
laws are enacted, and judgment decreed,
assist with Thy Holy Spirit of counsel and fortitude
the people of the United States as we have
chosen the next President of these United States,
that his administration may be conducted in righteousness,
and be eminently useful to Thy people
over whom he presides, by encouraging due respect
for virtue and religion, by a faithful execution
of the laws in justice and mercy, and by restraining
vice and immorality. Let the light of Thy
divine wisdom direct the deliberations of Congress,
and shine forth in all the proceedings and
laws framed for our rule and government, so that
they may tend to the preservation of peace, the
promotion of national happiness, the increase of
industry, sobriety, and useful knowledge; and may
perpetuate to us the blessing of equal liberty.
We recommend likewise, to Thy unbounded
mercy, all our brethren and fellow citizens throughout
the United States, that they may be blessed in the

each Sunday we are saying goodbye to people who
are leaving, generally back to Brazil. To those that
are coming, Welcome, we want you all to feel at
home here, a little part of your own family. For
those of you that are leaving, may God bless you on
your journey and guide you always on the right

NEXT SUNDAY
Next Sunday Mass at 7pm we will do a Blessing of
the people that are absent. If you would like to pray
for someone special, for anyone who is far away,
bring their names, or Photographs or any other
Object that resembles this person, put it at the table
of the offertory and during the Mass, we will do a
special blessing for those who are not here.

Every three months, the Brazilian Apostolate
promotes a course on Matrimony preparation.
For those of you that are thinking of getting married,
or would like to rectify your Matrimonial
situation, take advantage of this opportunity. Next
Sunday in Framingham, at the Saint Tarcisius Parish,
will present this course, it is only one day process.

Brazilian Apostolate
Monday on the 10th, we will have a meeting with
all of the Priests and the Pastoral persons from the
Brazilian Apostolate, and on Tuesday in Somerville
at 7:30pm we will have a gathering with all of the
Pastoral Council which includes Priests and two
Leaders, from each Community.

Unamo-nos em Cristo Programa
É um processo de duração de três anos, pelo qual a
Renew Internacional tenta propor essa renovação
spiritual. Se faze m três níveis básicos: Renovando tanto
a estrutura diocesana, como também a paroquial através
da formação de comunidades eclesiais de base; de um
processo de maturidade da fé baseado no estudo da Bíblia
e na adaptação do Ritual de Iniciação Cristã para Adultos
e no fortalecimento das relações humanas e pessoais das
comunidades paroquias. São apresentadas em 5 etapas
cada uma com duração de 6 semanas baseados nos temas
do evangelho.

Together in Christ PROGRAM
Is a three year, parish – centered process of spiritual renewal
and evangelization that enables people to develop
a closer relationship with Christ, grow in community, and
reach out in service to others. It is divided into 5 seasons,
each of which lasts 6 weeks. Each season engages the
entire parish in a basic gospel theme:
Season I- Fall - Encountering Christ Today
Season II- Lent - Change Our Hearts
Season III- Fall - In the footsteps of Christ

Dear Brooks,
Q. My friend told me she is going to have sex with her
boyfriend. What should I say to her?
A. If your friend wants to make this adult decision, I
would ask her if she is prepared to handle the adult consequences.
Then help her walk through the consequences.
Sexually Transmitted diseases (STD’s): Does she
understand that one in four teenagers is an active
carrier of an STD? It is infecting America.
It’s not just aids that she should be worried
about, there are over 25 viruses that manifest
themselves in over 250 ways. Many of these
diseases are not curable and she will have them
for life. That is why abstinence is the only guarantee
that you will not contract an STD.
Pregnancy: Has she considered how much her life
would change if she became pregnant? Teens
find themselves in this dilemma every day. She
would put her life on hold for many years.
Would she even consider herself to be a good
candidate for motherhood?
Emotional Scars: What the movies don’t tell you is
the other side to sex and romance. When you
give your heart over to another person through
sexual intimacy, things become complicated
and the inevitable break-up will break her heart.
Spiritual Separation: You can't expect God to be
pleased with someone deliberately disobeying
His Word. Is she willing to trade her relationship
with God for a sexual relationship with this
boy?
Ephesians 5:3 tells us, "But among you there
must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or
of any kind of impurity...because these are improper
for God's holy people."
