CHAPTER VIII
THE FOUR PILLARS
TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
At Agroceres we provide today’s technology while constantly
investing in tomorrow’s. This is the formula that keeps
us young after 70 years.
To this end we strike technological alliances with business
firms and institutions in Brazil and abroad and have
research centers across the country.
Our research centers develop, test and, adapt the best
technologies available to our customers’ reality.
The best technology adapted to your reality. This is our
commitment.
QUALITY
We at Agroceres believe that quality is the fruit of investment
in technology and management. To this end we invest
in modern labs and information systems that monitor and
track our entire production process, from raw-materials procurement
to finished goods transportation.
But we believe, above all, that quality is the product of
investing in skilled and motivated people. At Agroceres,
quality is a part of our culture, and we can therefore commit
to well-made products. All the time.
PRESENT AND SKILLED SERVICE
Only by visiting our clients and knowing their reality can
we provide solutions to the challenges they face. Our extensive
network of professionals and representatives is skilled
and available to serve across the nation.
Seventy years of experience with Brazil’s agribusiness
are our credentials for rendering personalized service and
technology solutions in line with your reality, so that you can
continue to produce more and better.
RESULTS IN THE FIELD
Nothing is more gratifying to us than seeing the fruits of
our efforts reflected in results for our customers. Customer
results are the basis for everything we do and the reason for
our existence.
In 1945, Brazil planted 4 million hectares of corn and
harvested 4.8 million metric tons, at an average productivity
of 1,200 kg/ha. In 2014, it was 15.8 million hectares
(including 9.2 million second harvest) for 80.1 million metric
tons, a 4.25 times greater productivity, at 5,100 kg/ha.
Back to 1945, Brazil produced 7.3 kg of beef per year
per hectare of grazeland. The figure is now at 63.3 kg,
more than 8.6 times greater.
With one hectare of soybeans and corn (soybeans in
the summertime and corn in the second harvest, average
productivities), it is possible now to produce over 2,500 kg
of pork or 3,000 kg of chicken meat.
This production is at least 14 times greater than what
was possible in 1945 with one hectare of corn (there were
no soybeans or second harvest then) to feed the pigs and
poultry of that time.
Agroceres is proud to have brought technology to farming,
and to have contributed to these results.
