Every camper is special. We want to ensure
that every camper has a wonderful and
memorable experience at camp, and that
requires your help. Please carefully review the
information in this booklet, information you
will receive after registration and information
that is sent home from camp. The registration
fee is non-refundable, and non-applicable to
camp tuition. The JCC is not responsible for
unintended, unforeseen absences. The JCC
reserves the right to cancel any camp for lack
of minimum enrollment; balances paid will be
transferred or refunded. You will be notified in
advance of any cancellations.
How to register
Use the appropriate included form and return
it with the required payment. Use one form per
child. Once registration is received, other forms
will be sent to you, which must be completed
and returned at least two weeks prior to the
start of camp. Full payment is due per the
deadline schedule at right.
Deposit and billing
With each child’s registration form you must
include the following:
• $35 per week deposit
• $20 non-applicable, non-refundable
registration fee
Registration forms will not be considered
without both the deposit and the registration
fee. You will receive a 5% discount if you
pay for six or more weeks in full at time of
registration. The JCC accepts cash, checks,
MasterCard and Visa. Each camp must be
paid in full two weeks prior to its start date.
Note: Mail and billing will be sent to the child’s
address. There will be no third party billing.
Sibling discounts
A 2% discount will be credited for each child’s
camp tuition when more than one child from
a family attends at least one session in the
same camp (both in School-Age Camp or both
in ECDP Camp). This credit will be calculated
following the end of camp once all registration
changes are recorded. The credit can ONLY be
applied toward other JCC, ECDP or Children’s
Programs (not including fundraisers or
membership). The credit must be used by Dec.
31, 2015. If a sibling does not attend a program
for any reason, the credit will not be given.
What tuition includes
Camp tuition includes materials, transportation
(School-Age Camps only), a camp T-shirt,
daily snacks, field trips and cookouts. Parents
will receive advance notice of special events
and optional program activities that require an
additional fee. Because camps are programmed
by session, campers who do not attend all five
days each week may miss field trips, special
programs and activities. Unfortunately, we are
unable to change or substitute days for which
a child has been registered to accommodate a
specific trip or event.
Scholarships/financial aid
Every child deserves a summer camp
experience. For that reason, the JCC offers a
limited number of scholarships for camps and
memberships. Scholarship applications must be
received by May 15, 2015. Please call the JCC
for a scholarship application.
Tax credits
The JCC’s summer day camps may qualify for a
childcare tax credit. Contact your tax advisor for
further information.
Yachad, meaning “all together” in Hebrew, is
Camp Rishon’s inclusion program for children
with special needs.
What is inclusion?
• Incorporating everyone with their strengths
and challenges, and allowing everyone to
contribute.
• Creating a sense of community among all
participants.
Why do children need inclusion?
• Fosters the development of a feeling of
belonging.
• Embraces the acceptance of individuality
among peers.
• Develops a sense of independence.
What do we do?
• Hands on learning.
• Provide additional support staff.
• Gross motor and fine motor development.
• Improve social interactions and social skills
among peers.
• Make accommodations as necessary by
altering teaching methods without lowering
standards.
• Modify activities to better meet individual
needs.
There will be no additional cost to enroll your
child in Camp Rishon’s Yachad Program
provided our grant funding is renewed again
this year.
Is Yachad right for my child?
Because individual needs vary, the first step
is to see if our Yachad Program is a good fit
for your child. Please contact Mick Hagan,
inclusion specialist, at 315-445-2360, ext. 129.
Space is limited, so don’t delay!
themes, field trips, occasional overnights and special events.
Program Options
Nitzanim Day Camp
This camp is geared toward the child who
Daily Red Cross instructional and recreational
Nitzanim weekly field trips will take place
on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays
depending on the week. One day each week
is supplemented with a field day with themed
activities. Fridays are known as super Friday
where campers are given the opportunity to
choose between traditional (i.e. sports and arts)
and alternative activities (like slip and slide,
scavenger hunts, wacky water fun and much
more) to create their own schedules.
special memories for even our youngest campers.
General informaTIon
Staff
Year-round Early Childhood Director Jo David
and Assistant Director Pam Ranieri supervise
our Early Childhood Camps. Experienced
early childhood professionals from our schoolyear
program and carefully selected college
students staff our camp groups. These skilled,
trained counselors care about children and offer
guidance, support, encouragement, enthusiasm
and love.
Schedule
Our camp activity schedules are based on a
five-day week. To accommodate varying family
needs, we allow campers to choose to join
us for fewer days in a week on Tuesday and
Thursday or Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
all, of the activities summer
a brief description of each
day’s activities will be
provided to let you know
what is scheduled to happen each week so that
you can prepare your camper for the upcoming
week’s activities. We hope this will enable
you and your child to anticipate the wonderful
activities that will happen each day.
