2013 Spring / Summer Fashion Trends<br />
Fashion is built upon<br />
trends; however,<br />
you must never lose<br />
your personal style.<br />
What defines you is not<br />
a strict adherence to the<br />
trends every season,<br />
but it is carrying the<br />
trends you like with<br />
a good styling and in<br />
your own style. Every<br />
piece you wear is<br />
actually<br />
a part of your identity,<br />
a hint about your<br />
personality.<br />
But this season they are used in<br />
combination, creating an intense<br />
contrast. Alexander Wang is the name<br />
who used it the most.<br />
See-through:<br />
We see different forms of plays with<br />
see-through fabrics every season.<br />
Rag&Bone and Dion Lee, in particular,<br />
very efficiently handled this concept<br />
this season.<br />
Casual:<br />
Casual wear as we have seen in Prabal<br />
Gurung will be very trendy in the<br />
spring/summer 2013 season.<br />
Patterns:<br />
Moving ahead with a new design<br />
team, Roberto Cavalli introduced<br />
striking, lovely patterns especially in<br />
the Resort collection.<br />
In the 2013 season, we will be seeing<br />
shaped, tough women that highlight<br />
the strong woman image, which are<br />
always included in my collections as<br />
well, instead of naive and undefined<br />
forms.<br />
In general terms:<br />
A Whiff of Far East:<br />
Quite on the forefront especially at<br />
Prada, the trend has been shared by a<br />
lot of brands. Among other brands,<br />
Haider Ackermann and Pucci<br />
exhibited their collections with a<br />
whiff of the Far East. Sharp forms and<br />
the Far Eastern style penetrated even<br />
Alber Elbaz’s (Lanvin) designs who<br />
typically uses much more romantic<br />
forms.<br />
Frills:<br />
Frill is actually the signature of<br />
Lanvin, but this season we have seen<br />
many different renderings of frills.<br />
Every designer interpreted this trend<br />
uniquely, bringing about new forms.<br />
Balenciaga had frills that reflected<br />
the edgy style, while Givenchy<br />
presented them in a more romantic<br />
fashion.<br />

60s style:<br />
Although I am not a big fan, Edie<br />
Sedgwick and the ‘60s fashion are<br />
making a comeback, led by Marc<br />
Jacobs. We see that quite frequently<br />
particularly in fashion shoots.<br />
Black & White:<br />
Black and white are two colors that<br />
are in the limelight every season.
