Starting his speech by thanking
every member of ATURJET,
Tijani Haddad expressed his
gratitude for ATURJET being the
most active member of FIJET
World Federation.
Until today, broadcasts welcomed the
following well-respected tourism personalities,
ÇetinGürcün the vice president of
UFTAA (United Federation of Travel Agent’s
Association); Çoşkun Aral, a worldwide
known photojournalist; Faruk Pekin, one of
the pioneers of cultural tourism in Turkey;
Tijani Haddad the president of FIJET World
Federation and the former Minister of Tourism
of Tunisia; and lastly, HüseyinKurtoğulları,
one of the masters of Turkish Tourism
and the recent winner of Mediterranean
Tourism Awards by MTF (Mediterranean
Tourism Foundation). On the other hand,
a wide range of topics was brought up
during the live sessions such as the impacts
of Covid-19 on international tourism, the
future of the global and Turkish tourism
sector, gastronomy and alternative tourism
opportunities, and cultural tourism.
In terms of Turkish Tourism, most of the
guests were agreed that mistakes were
made by decision-makers for heavily
investing in mass tourism in past and that
today we need to create our future tourism
master plans focusing on natural and
cultural tourism alternatives. Nevertheless,
Turkey as a Mediterranean country is very
suitable for mass tourism. At this point,
we just need to rebalance our attention
by taking it a bit away from the shores
into the hinterlands of Anatolia where
the richest treasures of human history lie.
Furthermore, the importance of domestic
tourism has come to the forefront after this
pandemic crisis. From a global perspective,
on the other hand, it is estimated that
the international tourism sector will fully
recover as late as 2022.
