There are still reminders of Oita as the land where western culture originated<br />
in Japan.<br />
Beginning with the Christian daimyo Sorin Otomo who ruled over Bungo<br />
during the Sengoku period, the thoughts and feelings of the predecessors<br />
who laid the foundation of Oita are being carried on.<br />
