Promoting marine lifestyle is 

a social responsibility 

God blessed us in the UAE with many 

resources that are not fully utilized such as 

the sea. Our beaches are convenient for 

swimming in all seasons around the year, 

while many other neighboring countries 

don’t have such good weather and their 

citizens can’t swim in beaches due to the 

cold weather most of the year. The UAE’s 

beaches have soft golden sands and clean 

water which creates a great investment 

opportunity ahead of us. 

We need to encourage businessmen to 

invest in the sea and make use of these 

opportunities to promote marine lifestyle 

as a social responsibility. Having said that, 

we would like to take the opportunity to 

extend our appreciation to the ambitious 

young entrepreneur Rashid bin Mohammed 

bin Rashid Al Rumaithi, for his outstanding 

efforts in managing the group 

of "Al Odaid Water Sports" that aims at 

bringing back our legacy in sailing. We are 

looking to see more national entrepreneurs 

adopting water sports initiatives 

that will in turn promote happy lifestyle.

من التلوث والكائنات الخطرة تقريباً‏ يف حين أن 

السباحة يف بلدان أخرى تعد مغامرة محفوفة 

بالمخاطر،‏ من أجل ذلك فإننا أمام فرصة استثمارية 

غير محدودة اآلفاق.‏

Gulf Craft to impress at Monaco 

Yacht Show 

Sunseeker 95 yacht “Victoria 

Elizabeth VI” delivered to 

Croatia 

The 28.96 metre Sunseeker motor 

yacht Victoria Elizabeth VI has been 

delivered to her owner in Croatia. Built 

by the British yard as part of the Sunseeker 

95 series, Victoria Elizabeth VI 

features the five-cabin layout, giving 

accommodation for up to ten guests. 

James Lumley of Sunseeker Southampton, 

who carried out several postfactory 

upgrades, describes the tight 

timeframe of her delivery as “quite 

a challenge” but adds: “We are really 

happy with the end result, in particular 

the custom GRP cover for the forward 

twin anchor and the shaped acrylic panels 

added to the flybridge railings.” 

Gulf Craft will put the world’s superyacht building fraternity on notice 

once again at Monaco Yacht Show, this year with the European debut of the 

latest superyacht addition to its Majesty Yachts brand – the Majesty 100. 

In addition to the spectacular Majesty 100, Gulf Craft have also confirmed 

the display of its Majesty 110, the youngest tri-deck in the Majesty Yachts 

portfolio. The selection of both yachts for display at the show is reflective 

of the Emirati-based builder’s growing confidence in the global appeal of the 

Gulf Craft brand’s trendsetting design and innovation. 

Oman is as guest of honour in 

International Maritime Exhibition 

in France 

The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Tourism, 

will participate in the International Maritime Exhibition 

(Grand Pavois, International In-Water Boat Show) in the 

French city of La Rochelle during the period from 27 September 

to 2 October. The organizers of the event, which is 

ranked among the top five annual international exhibitions 

in boating, sailing and water sports, invited the Sultanate 

to be the guest of honor for this year of the International 

Maritime Exhibition. This is the first time a country from the 

Middle East has received such an invitation.

يف كرواتيا،‏ حيث تم بناءه يف بريطانيا وهو أحد 

سلسلة يخوت ‏"صن سيكر 95"، ويتميز هذا 

اليخت بوجود خمسة مقصورات،‏ ويتسع إىل 

عشرة ضيوف.‏ وقال جايمس لوملي،‏ مدير 

مبيعات ‏"صن سيكر ساوثهامبتون"،‏ الذي 

أجرى العديد من التحسينات يف مرحلة ما بعد 

الصنع،‏ أن بناء اليخت يف مدة زمنية قصيرة 

بأنه ‏"تحدٍ‏ كبير"،‏ وأضاف:‏ ‏"نحن سعداء حقاً‏ 

بالنتيجة النهائية،‏ ال سيما أننا استخدمنا الزجاج 

المقوى المتطور يف المقدمة وألواح األكريليك

سلطنة عُمان ضيف شرف المعرض 

الدولي للمالحة العالمية في فرنسا 

تقرر يف فرنسا اختيار سلطنة عُ‏ مان وللمرة األوىل على مستوى دول 

الشرق األوسط لتكون ضيف شرف دورة هذا العام من المعرض الدويل 

للمالحة،‏ والذي يصنف بأنه أحد أكبر خمسة معارض عالمية سنوية 

متخصصة يف هذه المجاالت.‏ حيث يقام المعرض خالل الفترة من 27 

سبتمبر إىل 2 أكتوبر المقبلين بميناء ‏"دي مينيمس"‏ بمدينة ال روشيل 

الواقعة على الساحل الغريب الفرنسي المطل على المحيط األطلسي.‏ 

وتشارك السلطنة يف فعالياته ممثلة بوزارة السياحة،‏ حيث دعا منظمو 

الحدث،‏ الذي يحتل المرتبة الخامسة بين أبرز المعارض الدولية السنوية 

يف القوارب واإلبحار والرياضات المائية،‏ السلطنة لتكون ضيف الشرف 

لعام 2017 من المعرض البحري الدويل الفرنسي.‏ وهذه هي المرة

DAMEN's SeaXplorer yachts redefine 

superyacht luxury 

The Dutch shipbuilder 

DAMEN, in cooperation with 

its luxury yacht builder AMELS 

has announced the sale of their 

second SeaXplorer 75—a stylish, 

sturdy and highly customized 

246-foot-long expedition 

yacht that’s capable of breaking 

through polar ice (in addition to 

providing ultra-lux accommodations). 

The SeaXplorer 75 stands 

out because of its striking design. 

But it also stands out because 

of its capabilities. According to 

advanced reports, it will not 

only be equipped with a full dive 

center but it will also allow for 

two helicopters to take off and 

land on deck in addition to having 

full below-deck storage for 

two helicopters as well. 

Burgess welcomes “TATII” to the sales fleet 

Burgess is delighted to announce that the 40.5m motor yacht TATII has 

joined the brokerage fleet with an asking price of EUR 9,400,000. Currently 

acting as the charter Central Agency (CA), Burgess has now been appointed 

as the sole sales CA too. Built by Tamsen Yachts- Turkey in 2009, she has 

been maintained to a high standard with ongoing maintenance and refits. In 

2015 she was fitted with brand new stabilizers and a further refit in 2016 has 

left her in top cruising condition ready for her new owner. Boasting an all inhouse 

exterior and interior build, TATII exudes charm and sophistication with 

a playful edge.

شريكتها ‏"آميلز"‏ لليخوت الفاخرة،‏ عن بيع ثاين يخت من طراز 

‏"سي اكسبلورر 75"، وهو يخت أنيق وقوي ومميز،‏ قادر على 

اإلبحار نحو الجليد القطبي،‏ ويحتوي على مقصورات فاخرة 

جداً،‏ كما أن أكثر ما يميزه،‏ هو تصميمه المدهش وصالبته 

وقدراته الفائقة بحسب ما جاء يف التقارير،‏ حيث أنه يحتوي 

على مقصورة مخصصة ومجهزة بكامل المعدات الالزمة 

للغوص،‏ إضافة إىل أن تصميمه الرائع يسمح لطائريت هليكوبتر 

بالهبوط واإلقالع من على سطحه،‏ إضافة إىل توافر مقصورة 

الصطفاف طائريت الهليوكبتر يف الجزء السفلي من اليخت.‏ 

‏"بيرجس"‏ تضيف يخت ‏"تاتي"‏ إلى أسطول مبيعاتها 

يَسر ‏"بيرجس"‏ اإلعالن عن انضمام يخت ‏"تايت"‏ والذي يبلغ 

طوله 40.5 متراً‏ إىل أسطول مبيعاتها،‏ بسعر ,400,0009 

مليون يورو.‏ تحمل ‏"بيرجس"‏ حالياً‏ اسم الوكالة المركزية 

للمبيعات،‏ وقد تم اآلن تعيينها كوكالة المبيعات الوحيدة 

أيضاً.‏ تم بناء ‏"تايت"‏ من قبل شركة ‏"تامسن لليخوت"‏ يف 

تركيا عام 2009، وتم الحفاظ عليها فيما يتطابق مع أفضل 

معايير الجودة والصيانة والترميم.‏ حيث تم تزويدها بمثبتات

A whole world of discovery is a head behind you. Imagine you set sail 

and explore the UAE coastline on one of the most enjoyable sea rallies. 

Ahmed Abdelhalim, Marina Operations Manager at Dubai Marina Yacht 

Club informed Marasi Yachts about the distinctive opportunities and 

enjoyable experience offered by Rally Programme to the boat owners 

Would you please tell us about the 

Rally Programme and how did you 

get the idea? 

The Dubai Marina Yacht Club 

is known as a pioneer and trendsetter 

in the market. Since we are 

always prioritizing the club members’ 

interests, we wanted to create 

a boating community like no other 

in Dubai, which has now evolved 

over the years. Launched in 2010, 

the Rally Programme is a series of 

sea and land rallies and social events 

organized exclusively for berth 

holders by our experienced Marina 

Team. The programme includes land 

based events such as food tasting, 

seasonal gatherings and activities. 

We strive to encourage boat owners 

to enjoy and utilize their boats and 

offer new boaters a safe and wellplanned 

opportunity to join a likeminded 

community. The Rally Programme 

has brought together the 

members in an enjoyable, adventurous, 

and entertaining environment 

filled with unique memories. 

What is the vision behind the Rally 

Programme and what is its added 

value to the UAE market? 

The Rally Programme aims to 

educate and support members to 

build confidence in using and exploring 

different horizons with their 

boats in a more frequent manner. 

The continuous growth and development 

of the boating community 

and leisure maritime industry are 

further motivated by these kinds 

of programmes. The programme 

also contributesme to adding destinations, 

creating new events and 

developing mutual grounds and synergies 

between the Dubai Marina 

Yacht Club and other marinas within 

the UAE. 

There are a variety of destinations 

in your programme, how do you 

choose these destinations and 

how far they are? 

Each year, we go through a strategic 

selection of favored, feasible 

and enjoyable destinations for 

the upcoming Rally. The decision 

process is backed up by logistical 

elements and the facilities are 

extended to both short and longrange 

boat owners, staying within 

a range of 10nm up to 120nm and 

more. However, we must not deviate 

or lose sight of the main purpose 

of the programme, which mainly 

focuses on enjoyable experiences 

and memories for each club member. 


Who are the main target 

audience in this programme and 

can non-berth holders join the 

competition? 

The private berth holders are 

the primary target audience of the 

Dubai Marina Yacht Club Rally Programme. 

Due to the growing popular 

demand of the rally programme, 

we are proud of leading and organizing 

an annual event that expands 

to the entire boating community in 

the city. 

How long is the Rally Programme 

designed for and how many 

destinations does it includes? 

The Rally Programme season 

starts in September and concludes 

at the end of May. Currently, there 

are twelve Sea Rallies and other six 

events include 4 boating clinics performed 

by Yachting Training Institute, 

J.L.S. 

What are the challenges 

affecting the success of the Rally 

Programme and how do you 

manage them? 

The Rally Programme requires 

tactical planning, unique selections 

and setting a timely methodology to 

ensure continuous success, stability 

and progress for future Rallies. That 

being said, the process thereafter 

runs smoothly to serve its purpose 

of fulfilling the expectations 

of the passionate 

boating community. 

The Rally Programme contributes 

to adding destinations and creating 

new events, therefore, we aim to 

boost it as a crucial part of the UAE 

lifestyle culture"

The Dubai Marina Yacht Club is 

the largest marina in the Middle 

East and is strategically located in 

one of the most prime locations 

within the city. The club has been 

successfully positioned favorably 

within the community and amongst 

the members due to several essentials 

such as innovation in the conception 

of social events, the back up 

of a fully dedicated and well experienced 

team complimented by a 

sincere level of service and advice.

بمستوى السمعة الذي وصلنا له يف برنامج رحالتنا.‏ 

ما هي مدة البرنامج وكم عدد الوجهات التي يشملها؟ 

يبدأ موسم برنامج رحالت اليخوت يف سبتمبر ويُختتم يف نهاية 

شهر مايو.‏ حالياً،‏ يشمل البرنامج اثنا عشر رحلة بحرية وست فعاليات 

من بينها 4 عيادات بالقوارب يتم تنظيمها بالشراكة مع معهد تدريب 

اليخوت .J.L.S 

ما هي التحديات التي تؤثر على نجاح برنامج رحالت اليخوت وكيف 

تتعاملون معها؟ 

يتطلب برنامج الرحالت التخطيط بدرجة عالية من التكتيك،‏ والقيام 

باختيارات فريدة من نوعها على صعيد الوجهات مع وضع منهجية يف 

الوقت المناسب لضمان النجاح المستمر واالستقرار والتقدم للبرنامج 

يف المستقبل.‏ وأستطيع القول بأننا تمكنا من الحفاظ على اإلنجازات 

المستمرة للبرنامج ونحن نهدف إىل تعزيز برنامج الرحالت البحرية 

لتصبح جزءاً‏ أساساً‏ من نمط الحياة يف دولة اإلمارات العربية المتحدة.‏ 

ما الذي يجعل نادي مرسى ديب لليخوت ديب متميزاً‏ بالمقارنة مع

وتلبية احتياجاتهم.‏ وكما أن نادينا يتميز بمستوى نوعي على صعيد

Can you tell us about ART MARINE 

and what are your main services to 

the UAE market? 

ART Marine is a leading service 

provider in the market. We are the 

marine leisure enterprise in the UAE, 

offering 360-degree services for the 

marine industry. We are operating 

through 5 divisions offering a number 

of products and services, such 

as: Yacht Sales, After Sales Services, 

Marina Management, Yacht 

Valet Services and Marine Products. 

Our aim is to cover all the growing 

demands of both current and future 

yacht owners in the market. 

What are ART Marine Marinas 

future expansion plans in the UAE 

and the region? 

Currently, we are operating nine 

marinas in the Middle East. We 

are working hard to expand our 

business scope and manage more 

marinas. We are currently looking 

at managing 4 more marinas in the 

region. However, the sky is our limit; 

we are always keen on offering our 

services worldwide. Our main goal is 

to be one of the global company in 

marina management services. 

How do you see the yachting 

industry, the infrastructure and 

the marina facilities in the UAE? 

The UAE is moving rapidly towards 

being a maritime hub. I think the 

country is on the right track and it 

will achieve a great success especially 

with the new developments 

and expansions in the marinas infrastructure. 

Furthermore, we need to 

promote the yachting lifestyle and 

inform people about the pleasure of 

owning a yacht. 

What are the main challenges that 

ART Marine is currently facing? 

Like any other company, we were 

affected by the downturn in the 

market. This has created some 

challenges that I believe have been 

fixed. Currently, there is a regional 

shortage in yachts berths above 30 

meters in length. This is a temporary 

challenge, as there are a few companies 

that started to open new marinas 

with large berth spaces. Another 


challenge would be the restrictive 

procedures for buying, registering 

and using the yacht. That’s why I 

highly recommend facilitating these 

regulations to encourage owning 

yachts in the UAE. 

What do you think yacht companies 

and main players in the 

industry can do to promote yachting 

and water sports activities? 

From my personal experience, I 

encourage the governments and 

key players in the industry to establish 

more sailing clubs and sailing 

schools. We should encourage kids 

to learn sailing and practice water 

sports. I believe this will be a main 

factor in the development process 

of the yachting industry as a whole.

yacht is a hole in the pocket”, how 

do you perceive that? 

“Owning a yacht is a hole in your 

pocket” is a statement I often hear, 

but I do not agree. I say, when you 

love you do not count. When it 

comes to yachts, it is a love story. 

It is not about spending money over 

buying and maintaining a yacht, it is 

about enjoying a different lifestyle. 

In ART Marine, we offer integrated 

yacht management services in order 

to turn our clients’ yachting experience 

into an enjoyable journey. 

Can you further elaborate on ART 

Marine Marinas engagement with 

the local society? 

With the marinas we operate in the 

UAE, we interact with everyone as 

we organize a lot of events where 

everyone from the local community 

can join. We have an event named 

Wobbly Boat Race, where you can 

attend with your family as a team 

and you are given 3 hours to build 

a boat and then you have to launch 

her in the water and participate in 

a race. I believe it’s a great project 

that builds team work and spirit. In 

our events everyone is welcome to 

join and participate. I intend to promote 

our events in order to encourage 

the public to participate and get 

involved in the yachting lifestyle.

أن نشجع الناشئة على تعلم اإلبحار واختبار 

الرياضات البحرية،‏ أعتقد أن هذا هو العامل 

األهم يف عملية تطوير وتعميم حياة اليخوت 

والصناعة بشكل كامل.‏

Smart features 

MAP can do this because it has 

Wi-Fi and INS built into each unit. 

The MAP unit can easily be installed 

on any existing boat with a smart 

stick which relays navigational information 

to a designated steering 

pump. An additional feature of the 

system is a safe turning radius determined 

by vessel particulars and vessel 

speed. The user-interface is smart, 

safe and extremely fun to use, which 

was the primary focus for the MAP- 

Tech design team, whose engineering 

and software expertise comes from a

“Grand 27m” with the smart 

design at the Cannes Yachting Festival 

2017. The yacht is designed 

for the fewest who want to enjoy

technology used on the “Azimut 

Grande 27m” has given the

volumes to new frontiers without

قامت شركة أزيموت لليخوت بالكشف عن أحدث طراز من 

يخوتها الفاخرة والذي يحمل اسم ‏"جراند 27" بتصميمه الذكي غير 

المسبوق وذلك خالل مهرجان كان لليخوت 2017. وقد تم تصميم 

اليخت للنخبة من الناس الذين يرغبون بقضاء وقت من المتعة 

الحقيقية يف البحر مع العائلة واألصدقاء.‏ وقد مكنت تكنولوجيا 

ألياف الكربون المستخدمة يف ‏"أزيموت جراند 27" المصممين من 

حرية توسيع المساحات يف القارب إىل حدود جديدة غير مسبوقة 

من دون المقايضة بالثبات وديناميكية استقرار اليخت األشبه 

بقصر عائم.‏ فكانت النتيجة هي بدن للقارب بطول 27 متر يتسع

Navigating the legal requirements 

for owning a yacht in Dubai 

The UAE already boastone of the 

richest populations in the world and 

it is estimated that private wealth in 

the country will continue to grow at 

a rate of 7.4% per year to Dh 2.94 

trillion over the next five years. The 

same source also indicates that the 

UAE is home to more than 72,000 

super rich individuals and 810 ultrahigh 

net worth individuals with the 

latter controlling USD 120 billion 

wealth. Dubai in particular is reported 

to be a destination of choice for 27% 

of GCC’s high net-worth investors 

closely followed by Abu Dhabi. 

However, one of the great things 

about Dubai is that the ownership of 

yachts and pleasure boats is accessible 

not only to the super rich but 

is enjoyed by many local and expatriate 

population in the country. Dubai 

continues to support growth of this 

recreational activity by encouraging 

investments in expansion of the 

city’s waterfronts and the marinas. 

The Dubai Harbour project will add 

1400 berths and Marasi Business 

Bay will feature 800 berths in the 

next few years. 

The procedure for registration of 

yachts 

Navigating the legal requirements 

for owning a yacht can be confusing 

especially in the ever-changing legal 

environment. The procedure for registration 

of yachts above 10 tonnes 

is set out in the UAE Maritime Law 

No 26 of 1981. As the law currently 

stands only a UAE national or UAE 

national-owned company is permitted 

to fly the UAE flag on this yacht 

and/or to lease this yacht for commercial 

charter. This means that 

any foreign-owned vessel wishing 

to carry out charter business in the 

UAE has to be at least 51% owned 

by a national of the UAE and leads 

to curious situations where a yacht 

registered in the UAE by a foreign 

resident is not allowed to fly the UAE 

flag and instead must fly the flag of 

that resident’s country.

of a new Maritime Law is well

underway and it is expected to 

address issues of registration of various 

pleasure crafts and yachts in the 

UAE. In the meantime, this should 

not put anyone off from buying their 

dream boat and we aim to clarify 

some of the issues surrounding the 

process. 

The relevant authority registering 

and licensing the boats in Dubai 

is the Dubai Maritime City Authority 

(“DMCA”). The DMCA is taking 

over this function from the Federal 

Transport Authority - Land & Mari- 


time (“FTA”) in Dubai further to 

the memorandum of understanding 

signed between the two authorities 

in early 2017. The FTA will remain 

the responsible authority for registration 

of pleasure boats in Abu 

Dhabi and in other emirates. As for 

Dubai the registration system has 

been developed so as to facilitate the 

process and to reflect Dubai’s status 

as a global marine hub. 

Under Dubai law (Executive 

Council Resolution No. 11 of 2013), 

pleasure vessels are broadly placed 

into two categories: motorized and 

non-motorized. Non-motorized vessels 

include rowing, sailing and other 

similar vessels. Motorized vessels are 

further classified as and include personal 

watercraft and similar vessels; 

vessels less than 12 meters in length; 

vessels between 12 and 24 meters 

in length and vessels more than 24 

meters in length. The main differences 

are in the technical requirements 

presented to different types 

of vessels and the registration fees. 

No vessel can be used in Dubai 

unless it is licensed 

No vessel can be used in Dubai 

unless it is licensed and registered 

with the DMCA. The license is issued 

for a period of one year and can be 

renewed. Any vessel must undergo 

a technical inspection by the DMCA 

or DMCA-accredited entity. If the 

vessel does not meet the relevant 

safety and security requirements, 

the DMCA may refuse to issue 

the license. Such a refusal can be 

appealed before the executive director, 

whose decision is final. 

It is also worth bearing in mind 

that in 2014 the UAE authorities 

have issued the Yacht Regulations 

which apply to all new and existing 

private yachts of 24 meters and 

above of all types and their support 

vessels. The Yacht Regulations (or 

the Yacht Code) sets out requirements 

for designing, producing and 

operating the yacht by their owners 

and operators. 

Any foreign pleasure vessel sailing 

through the Dubai waters must 

obtain a sailing permit from DMCA, 

which is issued for a period of 3 

months. A separate permit is required 

for a foreign vessel wishing to sail 

through territorial waters of other 

emirates and it can be obtained from 

the FTA. 

The registration system developed 

in Dubai seems to be moving 

in the direction of efficiency 

and transparency. It is hoped that 

the national regulations will also 

catch up and the new maritime 

law, when issued, will address the 

issues in relation to ownership, registration 

and flagging of all types of 

pleasure vessels.

Greenline Yacht Interiors registers 

a remarkable success

Greenline Interiors, is a company 

established 40 years ago in the UAE, 

that started its journey by offering 

a wide range of high quality services 

in interior design, manufacturing and 

outfitting, serving various markets 

and clients. Greenline Yacht Interiors 

was established in 1997 and catered 

exclusively to the bespoke yacht 

interior market. 

The Managing Director, Mr. Gianluca 

Ascheri exclusively told Marasi 

News the lifetime story of Greenline 

Interiors, from the beginning towards 

a remarkable worldwide success. 

Would you please tell us about 

“Greenline Yachts Interiors” and 

its main services? 

Since Greenline Interiors was 

established by our Chairman and 

Founder Mr. Samir Badro 40 years 

back, we have steadily expanded 

our services to cover a wide range 

of interiors requirements. We began 

in the private sector with villas and 

penthouses, and then grew into the 

hospitality market before expanding 

to take on a wider variety of projects 

including palaces for the royal family, 

large hospitality developments, 

special villas, public areas and finally 

yachts. 

We launched our yacht division 

20 years ago as part of our expansion 

plans, beginning with interiors 

of small boats and also in this case 

growing until reaching collaborations 

with shipyards all over the world and 

especially in Europe and the United 

States. Our expertise soon saw us 

becoming involved with some of 

the largest and most complicated 

superyachts ever built in the industry. 

In such a tough market, would 

you tell us what are the main 

challenges facing “Greenline 

yachts interiors” and how do you 

manage them? 

Like most companies, we were 

affected by the crisis a few years ago. 

However, at the time we were fortunate 

enough to be working on some 

very big projects that helped us to

survive that tough period. Starting 

from 2011, we witnessed a steady 

recovery in the market both locally 

and globally, and by focusing on 

expanding our services we secured 

projects in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, 

Europe and the United States. The 

yachting market has always been 

prosperous, particularly in the vast 

European shipyards that we were 

working with, such as Perini Navi, 

Blohm & Voss and Lürssen. When 

Expo 2020 preparations began in 


earnest, we managed to secure a high 

number of land projects that helped 

us to overcome the main challenges 

we had faced during the crisis. 

Would you please tell us about the 

company’s latest developments in 

the UAE? 

We are currently working on a 

wide range of local projects, particularly 

for refitting, as this is our main 

source of business in the UAE. We 

are currently refitting a number of 

mega yachts in the region; however, 

our main clients remain abroad as it’s 

very important for us to be present 

in the European market where the 

big players are. We are also targeting 

a new market with our expansion 

into China, where we are currently 

working on a 90 meters yacht project. 

We remain active and present 

in the local market while also seeking 

out opportunities in markets across 

the globe. 

What are the unique features that 

differentiate your company in the 

market? 

At Greenline Interiors, our focus 

has always been on quality. This is 

reflected by the unique projects that 

we undertook to fulfil the needs of 

the royal family, and by the highquality 

interiors that we create for 

yachts, which are often more luxurious 

and complicated than landbased 

projects. We have set the bar 

very high in terms of the quality that 

we offer our clients, and this has 

helped us to excel in both local and 

global markets. 

Since you have been doing the 

interior designs to the private 

sector such as villas, hotels and 

towers. Can you tell us what 

have you brought into the yachts 

interiors refitting and designs? 

We have applied all of our experience 

in the land-based sector and 

developed it to meet the high quality 

demands of yachts interiors. It 

is often more challenging to create 

interiors for yachts, as we have 

to deliver beautiful designs that are 

also complicated by the restrictions 

on the materials that we can use. We 

work closely with classification societies 

and regulation entities to comply 

with their requirements. 

What is the message that you 

would like to send to your 

customer and our viewers? 

We have been in the market for 

almost 40 years and we are looking 

forward to another successful 

50 years ahead of us. We are eager 

to expand into new fields and we 

actively seek out tough, complicated 

and challenging projects to work 

on. Perhaps floating villas or a new 

iconic tower like the Burj Al Arab will 

be next. I am proud that we have the 

expertise to take on such challenging 

projects, and that we are ready 

to deal with the most complicated 

requirements out there. This is our 

passion, and the challenge of meeting 

both our client’s and our own scrupulous 

quality standards keep us doing 

a great job.

عالم الفخامة والقوارب الضخمة.‏

هل يمكن أن تخبرنا عن ‏"جرين الين 

للتصميم الداخلي لليخوت"‏ وخدماتها 

الرئيسة؟ 

منذ تأسيس جر ين الين للتصميم 

الداخلي من قبل رئيس مجلس اإلدارة 

السيد سمير بادرو قبل 40 عاماً‏ ونحن نقوم 

بتوسيع نطاق خدماتنا بشكل مطرد لتغطية 

مجموعة واسعة من متطلبات التصميم 

الداخلي.‏ بدأنا عملنا مع الفلل والبنتهاوس،‏ 

ثم نمت خدماتنا إىل سوق الضيافة والفنادق 

قبل أن نصل إىل التوسع الكامل لنصمم 

مجموعة واسعة من المشاريع بما يف 

ذلك العديد من القصور للعائلة الحاكمة.‏ 

وعلى إثر هذه الخبرة ذات اللمسة الملكية،‏ 

قررنا إطالق قسم خاص باليخوت قبل 

20 عاماً،‏ كجزء من خطط التوسع لدينا،‏ 

وبدأنا بالقوارب الصغيرة ثم واصلنا النمو 

حتى وصلنا من خالل التعاون مع أحواض 

بناء السفن لتصميم اليخوت والقوارب 

الكبيرة ويف جميع أنحاء العالم وخاصة يف 

أوروبا والواليات المتحدة.‏ وسرعان ما تعززت 

خبراتنا لنصبح روادا يف مجال تصميم أفخم 

اليخوت وأكثرها تعقيداً.‏ 

خالل فترة الهبوط التي تشهدها األسواق،‏ 

هل لنا أن نتعرف على أهم التحديات 

الرئيسة التي تواجهونها وكيف تمكنتم 

من التغلب عليها؟ 

كبقية الشركات تأثرنا باألزمة التي 

بدأت منذ قبل بضع سنوات.‏ ومع ذلك،‏ 

كنا محظوظين بما فيه الكفاية للعمل على 

بعض المشاريع الكبيرة جداً‏ والتي ساعدتنا 

على البقاء واالستمرار خالل تلك الفترة 

الصعبة.‏ ومع بداية العام 2011، شهدنا 

انتعاشاً‏ مطرداً‏ يف السوق محلياً‏ وعالمياً،‏
