Počas hodov sú sprístupnené stále expozície Račianskej izby Miestneho
odboru Matice Slovenskej v Obecnom dome na Alstrovej 249 a Pamätnej
siene gen. M. R. Štefánika v Hasičskom dome na Detvianskej 12.
Pochovávanie basy – fašiangy
Tradičné folklórne podujatie je známe ako babská zábava, pretože
v minulosti sa tradičného pochovávania basy zúčastňovali len ženy.
Patrí k najznámejším fašiangovým ľudovým zábavám. Býva vždy
v utorok pred Popolcovou stredou, má formu žartovného pochovávania
basy. Na záver všetci prítomní basu výdatne oplačú, pochovajú a ukončia
tak fašiangové obdobie veselia, zábav a karnevalov.
Stavanie mája
V predvečer prvého mája stavia mestská časť v spolupráci s miestnymi
organizáciami a spolkami pre miestne dievčence „máj“ ako symbol jari,
zelene a nového života.
Katarínska zábava
Na svätú Katarínu sa koná typická tradičná tanečná zábava s programom,
hudbou a občerstvením do vrecka. Každý si môže priniesť, čo mu
chutí.

During the feast permanent exhibitions of the Rača room of the Local
department of Matica Slovenská are made available in the Municipal
house at 249 Alstrova Street, and of the Memorial hall of general M. R.
Štefánik in the Fire house at 12 Detvianska Street.
Bass burial – Carnival
This traditional folklore event is known as dame fun because in the past
the traditional bass burial was attended only by women. It belongs to the
most famous Carnival folk entertainments. It is always held on Tuesday
before the Ash Wednesday in the form of jocular bass burial. Finally, all
the present profusely mourn for bass, bury it and end the carnival period
of revelry, parties and fun.
Building a May
On the eve of the May Day, the city district in cooperation with local
organizations and associations builds a “May” (a decorated cut down
tree) for local girls, as a symbol of spring, lush greenery and new life.
Catherine fun (Katarínska fun)
At St. Catherine there is held a typical traditional dance party with
program, music and snacks in your pocket. Anyone can bring what he
tastes.
