ZHANG Guangbin (Taiwanese, 1915 - 2016)<br />
ZHANG Guangbin was born in 1915 in Sichuan.<br />
He spent his childhood emerged in the beautiful<br />
landscape of Sichuan and the impressive experience<br />
became the fountain of his creativity in art. Zhang<br />
learnt from masters such as FU Baoshi, LI Keran,<br />
HUANG Chun-Pi, PAN Tianshou, FENG Zikai and<br />
KAO Hungchin. Zhang’s research covers clerical script<br />
and tablet inscriptions of the Northern Wei Dynasty.<br />
Furthermore, his cursive script captures the spirit of<br />
Bada Shanren.<br />
After coming to Taiwan at the age of 53 years old,<br />
Zhang worked in Department of Painting and<br />
Calligraphy at the National Palace Museum and was<br />
responsible for the discipline of calligraphy education.<br />
The artist issued dozens of vital essays related to<br />
<strong>Chinese</strong> art history during that time. Moreover, Zhang<br />
got The 29th National Culture Award of R.O.C. (Taiwan)<br />
in 2010 which testifies to his important role as a<br />
contemporary painting and calligraphy artist. Zhang<br />
held exhibitions in Taipei <strong>Fine</strong> Art Museum, National<br />
Taiwan Museum, and National Museum of History. His<br />
paintings were also collected by many magnificent art<br />
institutions such as National Museum of History, China<br />
Academy of Art and Kaohsiung Museum of <strong>Fine</strong> Arts.<br />
