OŠ Šmarje pri KopruHow "GREEN" are you?A green person is someone who takes care of the environment and looks after theEarth around them. This includes sorting the trash in the right bins and properrecycling.I would say I take care of the nature around me, I sort the trash separately into theright bins and collect any stray rubbish that might be laying around. Because we livenext to the forest I have to be extra careful about the trash that might blow away. Werecycle all the things that can be recycled.I don't really have any bad habits when it comes to caring for the environment, but Imight forget trash that I didn't take out, although very rarely.My family buys a lot of Eco friendly groceries and we don't use plastic bags whenshopping. We have a garden in our front yard. We have olive trees, tulips, tangerinesand we used to have a small cherry tree.I think my family is quite 'green'.Diana Mlakar, 8. aI would like to say that I am generally pretty green. At home we sort all the rubbishinto different bins and then also recycle everything that can be recycled. When wehave old clothing I or my sister have outgrown we give it to others. Sometimes it'smy little cousin, other times if the clothes are still in good shape we give them to theRed Cross. I never throw things like plastic water bottles or cans into the water orleave them in the forest. I always throw them in the proper bin. On the other hand Istill do have a few bad habits. I tend to waste water a bit when I have a shower for along time or I forget to turn off the water when I'm bushing my teeth, whichthankfully doesn't happen too often. I could be greener by taking care of the water ormaybe joining groups that focus on cleaning the beaches/water. I could also startusing reusable bags, like my mom does when I go to the grocery shop. My familycould also start growing more vegetables. We do have our own potatoes, tomatoes,carrots, ...etc. but I feel like we could still grow more, especially for times like these.Lara Kukolj, 8. a48
