Another one like that (selling Slovenian
designers items) is shop Ika - across the
bridge and square from Horacij.
RESTAURANTS
5-6 kg
A team of foodie enthusiasts will pamper
you with their homey, seasonal,
Mediterranean Slovenia inspired daily
lunches and dishes like octopus goulash
with polenta, sausages with potatoes,
seafood pasta and other delights
- like their famous squid ink dough pizza
(form the wood oven, obviously). Their
meats & cheese interpretations are also
finger-licking. Located at the very end
of beautiful Medieval Ljubljana and very
well worth a few extra steps.
Altroke
If Ljubljana can’t be at the the seaside,
the seaside comes to Ljubljana - in
the form of Altroke (meaning indeed),
Matjaž Čok’s place full of family run
recipes and modern twists on Istrian
traditions. Recently we’ve been loving
their nona Lidija’s tortelini, mussels
in white wine and … well, we can’t get
enough of their incredible pastas made
only with local, genuine ingredients.
Vino & ribe
The name says it all, wine and fish.
Straight from the Adriatic coast or
carefully selected from abroad. Another
family establishment by Matjaž Čok
(beside Altroke, located directly opposite)
it ensures to bring you modern
creations of old fish traditions. Our favorites
include sardele in šavor, stuffed
calamari and homemade pate. Oh, and
wine, obviously.
Robba
Same owner as tourists’ favorite Julija
and more high end Valvas’or, Vito Korošec
decided Robba to be a bit more
urban, yet retaining Slovene classics.
Referring to our famous Francesco
Robba fountain almost opposite of the
venue, we love coming here for daily
lunch options or dinners, especially on
Sundays or holidays. Their staff is super
friendly. Check out their duck salad,
deconstructed Prekmurje gibanica layer
cake, and cocktail list.
