devoted fans and to a few other locations

be in hotel Slon). Not the cheapest
option in town but savoring one of the

else. Mostly focusing on drinks but they
do surprise with some delicious edible
items every now and then.
Žmauc
Ah, legendary Žmauc. Don’t be surprised
if you spot some local celebrities
there (actors, directors, singers, photographers
and the like) because it’s a
perfect hideaway in a quieter part of
town than at the river. Plus, the vibe, interior
and their patio is unlike anywhere
NEIGHBORHOODS
Petkovšek river bank
If Ljubljana had a beer garden like the
Germans, this would be it: Petkovšek,
Premier, Fany & Mary, Lockal and Forum
all serve great Slovenian and foreign
craft & commercial beer. Some
establishments also serve quite nice
food (though for a more substantial
meal it’s probably best you sit down
at Most restaurant in the same strip).
Best enjoyed during warm months in
their patios when the area is swarming
with beer drinkers (especially during
some sports match), although we hang
around outside also in winter.
Trubarjeva street
Let’s face it, Ljubljana is a pretty mono-cultural
city. Which reflects in our
culinary offerings as well. However, in
recent years, eateries with roots from
all over the world have been growing,
especially in Trubarjeva street where
you can get everything from Greek,
Bengali and Lebanese treats to falafel,
Asian bistro, plus a wine and beer shop.
