What about Ljubljana’s foodie scene?

In past five years Ljubljana adopted so

many culinary innovations that it sometimes

outshines even its neighboring

capitals or at least stands against it. The

trend is definitely cosmopolitanism, to

represent its citizens gourmet novelties,

whether it is worldwide cuisine or

new ideas just like that. Nevertheless,

it’s true the offer could be even more

bold. I think the citizens are craving it.

at the castle, and in the evening grab

some coffee and ice cream in the centre,

maybe in Hotel Slon or Zvezda, and

finish the night at the Opera bar or treat

yourself for a special occasion at Kolibri

bar with special blend of cocktails.

What are some of your favorite places to

dine?

I really like to go for a certain thing to

a certain place, for that something that

enchanted me for the time and left

memories forever. I take my coffee in

TOZD or cafe Čokl, gelato in Fetiche,

fried chicken wings at Gostilna na

gradu, Indian specialties at Maharaja,

glass of wine & snack before a show

at Vander, TaBar or Dvorni bar, warm

Prekmurje layer cake at Gujžina, masala

chai for a cold day break at Daktari,

burger at Pop’s place, weekday quick

lunch at Monstera and lazy weekend

lunch at Ramen by Maru, and beer in

Cutty Sark. And sushi - I hunt it wherever

it appears.

How about a gourmet weekend plan in

Ljubljana?

Apart from the plan you can make according

to my previous answer, I would

certainly visit Modern and National

gallery in the morning, in between stroll

through nearby Tivoli park, then lunch
