Kreuzlingen bietet das umfassendste Angebot an
Bildungsinstitutionen im Thurgau: von Betreuungsplätzen
für Kinder im Vorschulalter, Pflichtschulen, einem
Gymnasium, einer pädagogischen Maturitätsschule,
einer Internationalen Schule, einer Elite-Sportschule
bis hin zur pädagogischen Hochschule Thurgau und
Schweiz-seitigen Instituten der Universität Konstanz. Der
„Campus Bildung Kreuzlingen“ befindet sich mitten in
der Stadt; der Campus mit den Privatschulen (Internationale
Schule, Elite-Sportschule) liegt im Projektgebiet.
1.4 Stadt- und Siedlungsstruktur
Die Städte Konstanz und Kreuzlingen liegen in einem
Verdichtungsraum mit besonderer struktureller Prägung.
Aufgabe der Kommunen ist es, die Lebensqualität unter
Berücksichtigung der Aspekte des Landschaftsschutzes
sozial und ökonomisch zu sichern und weiter zu ent-
wickeln. Die charakteristischen raumbildenden Elemente
der Agglomeration sind der See, die Landschaftsräume
des Bodanrück und Seerückens sowie die zusammengewachsenen
Stadtzentren von Kreuzlingen und Konstanz
mit den angrenzenden Siedlungsgebieten. Die historische
Altstadt Konstanz sowie die urbanisierten Gebiete
von Kreuzlingen mit Bottighofen auf Schweizer, Wollmatingen,
Petershausen und Allmannsdorf/Staad auf
deutscher Seite bilden den primären Entwicklungsraum
der Agglomeration.

the presence of large banks and insurance companies,
complemented by numerous innovative small businesses,
service providers, industrial enterprises and retailers.
Kreuzlingen offers the widest range of educational
institutions in the canton of Thurgau. These range from
pre-school care to primary and vocational schools, a
secondary school, an adult education school, an international
school, an elite athletic school, to the Thurgau
teachers’ training college and institutes from the University
of Constance located on the Swiss side of the border.
The ‘Kreuzlingen educational complex’ is in the middle
of the city; the private schools (international school, elite
athletic school) are within the project site.
1.4 City and Settlement Structure
The cities of Constance and Kreuzlingen form a population
concentrated area with a particular structure.
The job of municipalities is to ensure and further develop
a certain social and economic quality of life, while
still taking into account the protection of the natural
environment. The characteristic elements that delineate
this agglomeration are the lake, the Bodanrück Peninsula
and the Seerücken hills, as well as the aggregated
city centres of Kreuzlingen and Constance, with their
neighbouring housing areas. The historic Constance old
town and the urbanised areas of Kreuzlingen, along with
Bottighofen on the Swiss side and Wollmatingen,
Petershausen and Allmannsdorf/Staad on the
German side, form the primary areas that are growing
together.
