Um die extrem hohen Leistungen zur Stromversorgung
von rund 200.000 Haushalten stets garantieren
zu können, wurde das Kohlekraftwerk Moabit in
Berlin immer wieder modernisiert und mit technischen
Neuerungen versehen. Den Transport der
Kohle von der Anlieferung über die Lagerung bis
zum Kessel übernehmen Greiferkrane und Förderbänder.
Für die Herausforderung, diese Krane zu
erneuern und ihre Funktionalitäten zu erweitern,
entschied sich der Betreiber Vattenfall für die
erfahrenen und kompetenten Hände von Scheffer.
Die Entladung der Kohle übernimmt ein Schiffsentladekran,
Baujahr 1959, mit einem Vierseilgreifer.
Dieser Kran wurde von Scheffer für künftige
Aufgaben fit gemacht und mit einer Steuerung,
inklusive Seilgreifersteuerung und Antrieben, ausgerüstet.
Mit der neuen Krankanzel ist das Innere
In order to guarantee the supply of around 200,000
households with electric power, the coal power
station in Moabit (Berlin) has been upgraded and
modernised many times over the past years and
now features the latest technical equipment. The
coal is transported from the delivery point to the
storage bunkers and the boiler by means of
grab cranes and conveyor belts.
The power station operator Vattenfall needed to
upgrade these cranes and extend their functions
and decided to place this task in the safe hands
of Scheffer.
The coal is transported by a harbour crane dating
from 1959 with a four-rope grab. This crane has
been overhauled and upgraded by Scheffer and
equipped with a control system including rope
grab control and new drives. The new crane cabin is

des Schiffsrumpfes ab jetzt frei einsehbar. Hilfreiche
Features wie die teilautomatische Fahrweise und
Sondergrabefunktionen entlasten das Bedienpersonal
zusätzlich und sorgen für einen reibungslosen
Materialfluss.
Für eine optimale Bewirtschaftung des riesigen
Kohlelagerplatzes investierte Vattenfall in ein
neues, weitestgehend automatisch arbeitendes
Kransystem. Dazu gehören u. a. ein neuer Drehkran,
eine neue Steuerung und umfangreiche Sensorik.
Die vorhandenen Fördersysteme wurden in die
neue Steuerung integriert, sodass die Arbeitsschritte
– Kohle einlagern, verwalten und auslagern
– zukünftig als Gesamtlösung funktionieren. Die
Dimensionen der Krananlagen, die komplexen
Anforderungen wie das 3D-Lagerscan-System
und die Auswahl der perfekten Komponenten für
den dauerhaften Betrieb forderten höchsten Einsatz
und Kompetenz von Scheffer. Am Ende war es
wieder einmal ein rundum gelungenes Projekt.

Vattenfall invested in a new, mainly automated
crane system for the optimised management of its
huge coal storage area. This system includes a new
turntable crane, a state-of-the-art control unit and
advanced sensor technology. The existing
conveying systems have been integrated into the
new control system so that all tasks in connection
with the unloading, management and transport of
the coal are now performed as part of a single
streamlined process. The dimensions of the
crane units, the complex technology such as the 3D
storage scanning system and the need for extremely
sturdy components were the main challenges.
Thanks to its expertise, Scheffer mastered them all
and the partners agree that this project has been a
great success.
