OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Intended Use
• The device is only intended for heating water and keeping tea or other hot drinks warm. Any other use can
cause damage to the device or injuries.
Unpacking and checking
• Carefully take the device and its accessories out of the packaging. Retain the packaging in case you would
like to store the device away or transport it at a later date. If you choose to dispose of the packaging, then
please do so according to the applicable legal regulations.
• Check the packaging contents for completeness and damages. Should the contents in the packaging not be
complete or be damaged, do not use the device. Return it to your retail outlet immediately.
Operating the kettle
• Place the base station (17) on a level, heat-resistant and non-slip surface. Insert the power cord (12) into the
power cord socket (4) on the base station.
• Clean the kettle, the tea pot and the tea filter (3) before first use, in order to remove any residue from
production.
• Always take the kettle off the base station before you fill it with water. Press the lid release button (8) to open
the lid (7) of the kettle. Fill the kettle with water up to the MAX 1.7L mark.
• Push the lid down until it audibly locks into place.
• Place the kettle on the base station and insert the power cord into a suitable power socket.
• Make sure that no water can get into the base station.
• Set the on/off switch (11) to the I position. The red operating light (13) comes on. Let the water boil once.
• As soon as the water has boiled the kettle switches itself off automatically. The on/off switch flicks back into
the O position. The operating light goes out.
• Then pour the water away. Repeat the process, letting the device cool down in the meantime.
• Clean the tea pot and the tea filter with some washing-up liquid and warm water and dry the parts
thoroughly.
• After cleaning the water can be boiled for tea or other hot drinks, as described above.
• The kettle is equipped with a filter (6), which separates limescale and other residue when the water is being
poured. Clean it regularly as described in the chapter CLEANING AND CARE.
Notes:
• The water level must always be between the upper (MAX 1.7L) and lower (MIN 0.5L) markings. Do not fill
the kettle with water above the maximum level. Boiling water may spit out of the kettle and cause scalding. If
there is not enough water the device switches itself off before the water boils.
• Warning! Never open the lid (7) while the water is boiling. Also, do not remove the kettle from the base
station (17) while water is boiling.
