Vorwort des Beiratsvorsitzenden
Foreword of the Chairman of the Advisory Board
Dr. Detlef Müller-Wiesner
Dear Sir or Madam,
Within 2009 and 2010, of which this yearbook provides an overview,
Bauhaus Luftfahrt has seen some major changes. Despite
the busy times the institution managed to focus even more strongly
on its most important task: the search for “New Ways” and
visionary concepts for future aviation.
Besides its relocation from the Technische Universität
München to Schwabing, Bauhaus Luftfahrt under the interim management
of Prof. Dr. Dieter Schmitt has developed a new strategy
and moreover has successfully undergone its first scientific evaluation.
The new strategy aimed for a stronger focus of the different
research topics.
The new management, consisting of Prof. Dr. Mirko Hornung
on the scientific and Dr. Anita Linseisen on the commercial side,
successfully continued the consolidation process and added to
the strong reputation of Bauhaus Luftfahrt as a visionary systems
house for the future of aviation.
The strengthened position allowed the interdisciplinary think
tank to successfully acquire excellent scientists from a multitude
of disciplines. Thanks to the added expertise, Bauhaus Luftfahrt
has grown continuously in the past two years, both in its workforce
and in its reputation within the international scientific community
and aviation industry. In doing so, Bauhaus Luftfahrt has become
a partner of numerous research institutions, for instance “Munich
Aerospace”.
This yearbook will provide you with an overview of the manifold
research topics of Bauhaus Luftfahrt, which also strongly increased
in diversity during the years 2009 and 2010. I hope you will
enjoy reading and gain many interesting insights.
