Angaben zur Abhaltung<br />
Inhalt: Since chemical pulping is the key process for the fraction<strong>at</strong>ion of wood components,<br />
main emphasis will be placed on both pulping chemistry <strong>and</strong> technology. In addition to kraft,<br />
sulfite <strong>and</strong> organosolv cooking also new fraction<strong>at</strong>ion concepts such as hydrothermolysis<br />
(aquasolv), near-critical <strong>and</strong> supercritical extractions will be introduced in detail. The most<br />
challenging processes, however, are the necessary separ<strong>at</strong>ion, refining <strong>and</strong> purific<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
steps of the fraction<strong>at</strong>ed wood components since they account for more than 60% of the<br />
total costs.<br />
The course will provide an overview of the l<strong>at</strong>est developments on innov<strong>at</strong>ive<br />
separ<strong>at</strong>ion,depolymeris<strong>at</strong>ion, conversion <strong>and</strong> purific<strong>at</strong>ion process technologies. Supercritical<br />
CO2, near-critical w<strong>at</strong>er, gas-exp<strong>and</strong>ed liquids <strong>and</strong> new, reactive solvents such as ionic<br />
liquids as well as homogeneous <strong>and</strong> heterogeneous c<strong>at</strong>alysis will be introduced in detail<br />
since they are well suited to these challenges. In addition, a system<strong>at</strong>ic overview will be<br />
provided on all the existing biorefinery concepts (phase I to phase III) with the focus on (a)<br />
the “Lignocellulosic Feedstock Biorefinery” <strong>and</strong> (b) the “Biorefinery Two-Pl<strong>at</strong>form<br />
Concept”,including the sugar pl<strong>at</strong>form <strong>and</strong> the syngas pl<strong>at</strong>form. Finally, the economic<br />
implic<strong>at</strong>ion of wood refinery concepts will be discussed in separ<strong>at</strong>e case studies.<br />
