For the kapers board
there are questions to
be answered as well.
Why do we face such
a deep ditch between
the board and about
half of the members?
Intercepted on the Home
Stretch….
I cannot get rid of this feeling since the voting about the Profit Participation
Plan!
Why:
• Because for the first time since the grounding
there is money to be distributed;
• Because for the first time we were offered a
Profit Participation Plan that was social politically
convincing, benefitting our salaries, or the
lower salaries in particular, above average;
• Because we would have kept the negotiations
to ease the FDR running despite an agreement
to the PPP;
• Because in February 2009, due to the extension
of the CWA, the salary tables reduced since
2006 would automatically have been raised
again to the level prior to the reduction;
• Because the full cost-of-living-linked salary
adjustment would be less than the Profit Participation
Plan;
• Because the vested rights out of the CWA06
would have been valid for two more years;
• Because the considerably gloomy economic
forecast for 2008 is very unfavourable in terms
of the upcoming CWA negotiations;
• Because a negotiation-break of two years would
have given space for detailed clarifications and
a new or improved planning system (PBS);
• Because time would be badly needed to tackle
the pension fund (2nd pillar) in details and sustainably;
• Because we finally wanted to „ACT“ for the
first time in six years, and not only to „RE-
ACT“.
The new situation – even if it has come off in a
democratic way – throws us back and puts us in a
difficult position by the different results (different
contracts).
We absolutely agree that the flight attendants of
Swiss have contributed to the good result. This
has to be born in mind, at least this year, this is
what we account for.
kabine 4/2007
Furthermore the FDR negotiations have to be
completed and implemented fast. And we will negotiate
a cost-of-living-linked salary adjustment
for the CCM and FCCM.
For the kapers board there are questions to be
answered as well. Why do we face such a deep
ditch between the board and about half of the
members? This calls for an immediate vote of
confidence. The board is going to figure out the
further proceedings in the January policy meeting
and analyse the situation for the second year of
administration.
What we were able to avoid in the last six years
must not happen now by all means: that the kapers-members
are split. We have to overcome this
crisis and we intend to do this in a decent way!
But there is also positive news: The outrageous referendum
in the canton of Zurich to limit aircraft
movements and to extend night ban is off the stove.
The counterproposal – from kapers view - is
not pleasant either, but it allows a hub operation
with a slight possibility of future growth. kapers
as a union fought up front against the exposure of
working positions by this referendum. I recall the
demonstration in front of the Rathaus in February
this year. It was worth the effort.
Kind regards
