This smoke <strong>de</strong>tctor is supplied with a mountinginterlock 1 which makes it<br />
impossible to mount the smoke <strong>de</strong>tector without a battery. When the battery<br />
is in place the LED 2 will flash briefly every 45 seconds.<br />

Press the LED test button 1 until the alarm so<strong>und</strong>s. This can take up to<br />
20 seconds. The alarm should be loud and pulsating, thereby indicating that<br />
the smoke <strong>de</strong>tector is operating correctly. Test the <strong>de</strong>tector once a month, and<br />
once a year clean with a vacum cleaner. The <strong>de</strong>tector automatically tests the<br />
battery every 45 seconds. This is indicated by the brief-flashing LED. The<br />
smoke <strong>de</strong>tector will emit one bleep per minute when the battery voltage drops<br />
below a minimum value, and this will continue for approx. 30 days, as a remin<strong>de</strong>r<br />
that the battery must be changed.
